Kematu just says that Taneth would have at least had a chance at holding its own if not for Saadia's betrayal.

Again, this just boils down to if you believe Saadia or Kematu.

The only things we know for sure is that Hammerfell fought the Dominion for many years and continued to do so even after the WGC was signed (and for good reason) before drawing up their own treaty with the Dominion after a few more years of fighting, leading to the Dominion completely withdrawing from Hammerfell.

No specific details are given about the cities and happenings other from Kematu's report.

If Taneth lost to the Dominion as a consequence of Saadia's betrayal of Hammerfell, innocent lives would have been lost to the Thalmor,

Obviously.   Most wars see people dying  in them.

But innocents  in Taneth would have died  against the Thalmor  even if Saadia never existed and a betrayal never occurred.  So the question is: IS Saadia's betrayal  THE reason why Taneth didn't "hold its own"?

Kematu claims Taneth was lost to the Thalmor because of Saadia's betrayal; it's clear his claim is that the victory of the Dominion was a result of Saadia's collaboration with the Thalmor, which is the contrasting story to Saadia saying Alik'r are hunting her for speaking out against the Thalmor in Hammerfell.

Those are the two versions we're given; I'm not interested in seeing how this can be spun into knots simply to mitigate Saadia's possible involvement with the Thalmor.

Does Taneth still exist, Lobs??

LOL

Investigating  the details behind a claim is how one determines   truthfulness.  So basically what you're saying is:  "I do not wish to investigate.  I just want to believe!"

Which changes absolutely nothing about what I previously said.

Which is amusing, coming from someone more interested in whitewashing Saadia's possible culpability with the Thalmor than in how her story has holes large enough for a giant to walk through them.

from the Great War
"During 4E 172, the Aldmeri advanced deeper into Cyrodiil. Bravil and Anvil both fell to the invaders. By the end of the year, Lord Naarifin had advanced to the very walls of the Imperial City. There were fierce naval clashes in Lake Rumareand along the Niben as the Imperial forces attempted to hold the eastern bank.
In Hammerfell, the Thalmor were content to consolidate their gains as they took control of the whole southern coastline, which was in fact their stated objective in the ultimatum delivered to the Emperor. Of the southern cities, only Hegathestill held out. The survivors of the March of Thirst regrouped in northern Hammerfell, joined by reinforcements from High Rock." (quoted from the Wiki)
Taneth is the Southern coastline of Hammerfell

Although I think Yrkoon downplays the more circumstantial evidence that favors Kematu, the key word that you yourself say in the above quote is POSSIBLE, which is the crux of what Yrkoon has been arguing for the past 4 pages.  He does believes it possible Saadia was invovled in a betrayal, but because we don't have the hard evidence to say definitively that she was, he will rejects the premise the Saadia is unequivocally guilty of betraying Hammerfell to the Thalmor.

Which is why I addressed it as a possibility, and not as absolute fact. I think virtually everyone else has done the same in this discussion. However, if Saadia did help the Thalmor take Taneth, I'm unwilling to downplay the ramifications on what ensues when the Thalmor have free reign over their enemies.

I have not checked for her urn under any circumstances

I think, though I'm not a CK expert, that she has the same "cleanup script" whether she's killed or disappears during the quest. As I said upthread, it's a developer shortcut, not pointing to a conspiracy theory.

Favorite books: A lot of them. For lore, the Monomyth, for story probably The Real Barenziah.

MK fans: He's got a tumblr, right now being moderated by his girlfriend Lady Nerevar. She says she'll be publishing some of his concept art, some of which never has been seen before.

And I think we know what Yrkoon will say: since you are using the word "IF" Saadia did help the Thalmor... then any arguments made can't assume that she did.  I, and I think Yrkoon has said he agrees with your statement that if Saadia is guilty and her actions brought about th death/suffering of Hammerfell citizens, then she deserves to be punished, even executed.

But the crux of the quest is that we *don't* know for certain IF Saadia did it.  I think we say with confidence that she is lying, but kematu failed to produce the hard evidence needed to say for certain about his side of the story.

Don't get me wrong, it's rare that I have a playthrough that I let her go because I *think* (cf. know) Kematu is telling the truth.  But the quest is what it is.

What I bet the deal with the scripts is this:  If the Dragonborn does kill Saadia, it makes sense that her remains are interred in Whiterun.  That should be there.  Because siding with Kenatu removes the Saadia NPC from the game (and it happens in Whiterun), it incorrectly flags the DB kills Saadia outcome.  In any event it's quite clear from the game that siding with Kematu means Saadia is not killed in Whiterun Hold and her remains should not be interred there.

If Elderscrolls VI is set in Hammerfell
Imagine the game starting with a brief interactive comic where you decide how the Dragonborn dealt with the Saadia dilemma.

Then the entire main quest in Elderscrolls VI revolves round the consequences of that decision...

Were you asking how powerful the PC needs to be to run it, or were you asking if an older version of windows is needed?

I wouldn't know either way, I'm using the x-bawks version.

I've heard that a more powerful pc will let you run more mods simultaneously though, so that might be worth baring in mind.

Mine is 2.5 years old Core i5. The only issue I have is with 8x AA in Skyrim. Lower it to 4x and put everything on the highest and FPS is really good.

There is an "Eye" mod that is 66 MB and makes the iris really beautiful. Have anyone got it?

A few weeks ago my current DB left Eola in her cave.  I finally got around to making a decision about Eola's request.  This isn't easy to roleplay even for a DB who is far away from the D&D alignment concept of "good" (or "lawful"), but I felt I did a good job with respects to Desdenova.

I was thinking of Happy this episode ... I'm not sure how I'd feel being associated with that particularly daedric prince, well better her than Sheogorath :wizard:.

But I guess I'm not one to talk since I always do Sanguine's quest :D

That would make TES VI the worst game ever.

Looking for advice on the perfect build?
Or are you just interested to see what ideas other people came up with?

Here are a few Youtube personalities who have posted builds.

___________________________________________________________________________

Trend Kill:

All builds (even the fancy builds) tend to be a variation of one of the following

Warrior, rogue, thief, assassin, berserker, knight, paladin, wizard, necromancer, spell sword, night blade, witchhunter, monk, vampire.

Trend Kill will give you the advice needed to make any of these combinations work.
Each build has a video dedicated to where to spend your perk points and a second video dedicated towards how to play each class.

Little wonder that Trend Kill is my number 1 recomendation.:wizard:

___________________________________________________________________________

Chris Spooner Gaming:

He tend to think of builds in terms of best possible outcome.
They are not the most fancy builds out there, but they are valuable to anyone who is new to Skyrim.

___________________________________________________________________________

Tommy Zola

It's hard to dream up an interesting build. Tommy Zola and his fans somehow pulls of this feat. Every now and then someone on Youtube gives Zola an epic idea and shortly afterwards a new video appears.

These videos give general descriptions of some very strange and unique builds. House Lords being the highlight.

___________________________________________________________________________

The Roleplay Gamer

Do you have a lot of time on your hands? If the answer is yes, then you're in for a treat.
The Roleplay Gamer doesn't just introduce you to new builds, he shows you how he uses these builds.
So no montages with general build advice.
Fluid gameplay with commentary instead.

___________________________________________________________________________

Fudge Muppet

Fudge Muppet has taken the time to show you some of the most inventive Skyrim Class builds on the net.
Requested by adoring fans (not from Oblivion), each of the concepts shown provide new ways to approach combat, often combining frequently used abilities in combinations rarely thought of.

In addition, if you're feeling creative, you can suggest some concepts of your own, and he might present them on his show.

Fudge Muppet is also thinking of doing class build videos for Fallout New Vegas so watch out.

___________________________________________________________________________

Mister Shinzo

Sadly I couldn't find a dedicated playlist regarding Skyrim Builds.
However there are plenty around on this Youtube channel.

These are general builds, but the real gem is Mr Shinzo's charisma and fountain of knowledge regarding Elder Scrolls. Mr Shinzo also loves to talk about Bioware titles and future Star Was games.

___________________________________________________________________________

Armathyx's Soul Knight

Sadly I can only find one build.
However this build is nothing short of epic.
Some trully excellent ideas for a class. Check it out.

___________________________________________________________________________

Rayz0r's: The Manticore build

It's getting tougher and tougher to come up with new and interesting builds.
Rayz0r's first effort is a great start to what could be a fantastic build series.
There is only one video in the series so far.

Check this video out and let Rayz0r know what you think.

___________________________________________________________________________

KHillisEpic: The Hunter

Not the most visual of the builds.
Just a guy giving you advice on how to be an effective hunter.
The quality of the advice given is the reason this build is on this list.
