If there is going to be an ES:VI, then  it's probably in development   already.

It's 2014, after all,  and Skyrim came out in 2011.  Typically, it takes Bethesda about 4-5 years to do an Elder scrolls game.  If the trend holds, then we're only a year or two away from the next one.

Breathtaking how time flies, right?

You said it. It's a bit scary.

I guess you're right and they're probably at work on VI but I have a feeling we'll have to wait longer given Fallout 4 and ESO and the focus they're going to need. I know ESO is techically being handled by other devs but it still neccessitates focus and I doubt they'll want ESVI to steal its thunder. Not anytime soon at least.

Excited to see what they can do with the new tech (by that I mean without the restrictions the previous gen of consoles imposed) but really hope they forego trying to stick to an 'exciting' and gimmicky release date. Give the game as much time as it needs. I'm still craving it now though, lol.

It's not so much a question of if its going to happen.

It's more a question of when it will happen.
Also where will it be set?
Also what will the story be about?
What changes will there be to the combat?
What new quests will there be?

So many questions. I have 137 and I counted. But that would make this post really long.

Just kidding I don't have that many questions.:P

Yeah, here we are in the third calendar year after release still talking about this game, arguing, asking each other for, and offering, help and advice, and showing screen shots. This is what memorable games are all about.

Looking forward to ES VI (like was said above, not IF but WHEN), but I'm going to be satisfied playing Skyrim...for a while: adding on and trying new mods, doing different things for different character outlooks, and tinkering with different builds. Let's face it, Skyrim has serious longevity.

Having said that, Bethesda owes us another Fallout game before we see ES VI (and there better by-god be another FO game soon Image IPB)...and we haven't heard a peep about that yet.

I wonder *why* we haven't heard anything from Bethesda yet about the next Fallout.. And I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that Bethesda didn't do the last Fallout. Someone else did. Fallout is, like, the eternal orphan of the gaming industry. It's gotten tossed around from one developer to another since the 90s.    Don't be surprised if Blizzard or Bioware do the next Fallout. lol

Edit: and wouldn't that be a hoot.

Blizzard does the next fallout:   World of Fallout.  (yes, an MMO!)
Bioware does the Next Fallout:  Fallout 5.  It'll be single player.  But hey, Voiced protagonist,  Romances! And  a  gripping drama-based  narrative with a crap ending and a  downloadable  NPC  you can buy on day 1.

LOL. I think I just died a little inside.Image IPB

But yeah, you're right Fallout has been the orphan of the gaming industry. But it appears that all the legal battles are done, and it is Bethesda's baby...good, bad or indifferent. I do think that they'll keep Obsidian in orbit around the series though, because too many of those folks were there in the early days of Fallout, and Bethesda appears to want to keep that lineage in place and involved for the sake of the player base.

Here's the thing; Obsidian issues New Vegas in 2010, only two years after Fallout 3. I think most of us were thinking, "well normal 5 year Beth schedule--we'll see FO4 in 2013...just three years after NV"...WRONG!!!!!!!

Beth's normal 5 year dev schedule for games, as it applies to FO, appears to be hinged on Obsidian's release of NV. Now, if that becomes the new normal, two Fallout games every 5 years (with a 2 year separation), I don't think too many will complain. We just don't know what we don't know at present, and we don't know how involved, if at all, Obsidian will be with the franchise. I suppose we'll know soon enough.

Good news is that Elder Scrolls doesn't seem to be affected by any of this.

^^ You are right about Skyrim's longevity.

One thing I realized in my Desdenova Let's Play is that Skyrim has *a lot* of replayability and *far* more role-play friendly than even its supporters maintain. Before Desdenova, I sort of "half" role-played - I had a general character in mind and kind of sort of did the quests I thought would interest them and resolved them according to the character concept I had in mind.

Doing the Desdenova Let's Play, I've had to really get into her head, explain why she's doing things the way that she is, and react completely in character and I have to say the Skyrim world was definitely a different place and experience from my other playthroughs. Part of it was I was most invested in the character, but a large part of it was just how much is going on in the world that a dedicated role-player could immerse themselves into - even little things like the passing unique comments from NPCs or just the sight of the Thalmor walking in Understone Keep - the writers certainly gave players a lot of opportunity to shape and grow their characters ... if they actually take advantage of that world and role-play as opposed to killing things and acquiring stuff.

I knew Skyrim lent itself to that, but never appreciated just how much it does and what a wonderful job the writers did in creating a world that offers so many possibilities.

Bioware seems to do things by "teams"

They have a team working on their unknown IP.I suspect it's a disney/starwars related project but I could be wrong.

Where do you think the next ESVI or what ever it is would be located.Another place like Skyrim but maybe a desert.Or a coast with seafarers and pirates, islands and stuff like that.

I don't know where it will be set, but I can think of a few interesting locations.

Valenwood and Elyswer: (combined into one game). Would be interesting to see how Bosmer and Khajiit interact.

Summerset Isles: I'd love to see more of the Aldmeri Dominion. See some political intrigue and perhaps infighting over the leadership of the Aldmeri Dominion. Maybe waring factions, the shifty presence of the Thalmor and lots of tough moral choices thrown into the mix. In addition the slim possibility of player character becoming the supreme leader of the Aldmeri Dominion.

Akavir: I've heard little about this place. What little I have heard sounds interesting.

Morrowind and Blackmarsh Combined: Mostly focusing on the conflict between Argonians and Dunmer.

High Rock: Bretons fighting each other. Redguards and Bretons not getting along. Orcs trying to exact revenge through attempted genocide. Political intrigue. Corruption. Lies, deceit, betrayal. NPC's who appear to be your friends only to stab you in the back. Spies and saboteurs. Slimy politicians and greedy royals. So much potential.

Akavir would be interesting:

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Akavir

Whether players would relate to a continent without humans remains to be seen. And the 'humans eaten" reference, whether that means actually eaten or consumed in some other fashion ,solving that would be very interesting for me.

Beat the bandits at Silent Moon, Redoran's Retreat, and Fort Greymoor.

I think it could work but not as Elderscrolls VI.
Rather a spinoff title.

The racial options would be

Kamal
Tsaesci
Tang Mo
Ka Po'Tun
Human-eqsue race: (because there has to be at least 1 relatable race)

As for the lack of humans. I'm sure one can make up a human-esque (as in look like humans but aren't actually humans) race. That human-esque race would be a 5th race and they'd be slaves to the other 4 races.

5 new races
New locations
New factions
New story

The Battle-born's office door is unlocked and I got the missive very easy.

That's counter to what is written in the USPE skyrim wiki which says you have to pick the lock.
SO now I have to free the kidnapped Grey-mane.

I've used the Fus Ro Dah NPC motivational method as well. Walking down the 7000 steps with Ulfric and Galmar, for instance.

Course, you can just Fus them first to see if that works. :P

I was wondering.
Is there a guide to the aesthetics of character creation?

I've always wondered how people make their player characters look like famous people, or make player characters look like themselves.

Maybe a player wants to give the character a handsome look or a dirty rugged look.

Uncertain, but I do know there are mods with more detailed CC's available.

Took forever to find Northwatch keep.

Ambushes along the way.

Problems with the PS3 version.

You can go out on ledges and not be able to climb back up, so you either have to reset or fall and die.

You can get wedged in crevasses and have to reset.

shrugs.

There is a path to get down there safely, look to the right soon after walking past an old Fort. There will be a small ruined tower on the right and later a cave entrance to let you know it is the correct path, and eventually will lead you to the shoreline.

I had already found it and completed the mission.
Now looking to find that silly plant mission and the grove or whatever its called.
Not much luck finding it.

Not much info on line as to where it's located.Lot more ambushes by wolves, bears, bandits, vampires and of course it seems the dark brotherhood is after me because someone, I presume the thalmor, took out a bounty on me.

If you mean the quest for the grand tree in Whiterun, the location is South of Windhelm. If you mean the Ancestral Glade, it is near Falkreath. At least these are a couple of possibilities.

As for assassins, there are lots of folks in Skyrim willing to hire killers to find the DB. I have been told that is you help the Elf get the girl in Riverwood, the bard will hire assassins, or the children will hire thugs if you steal anything, etc.

If It is the Thalmor, they will be a note on their hired help.

How far south.Other players recommend going there from Helgen.

This is the grand tree quest.

I looked for it, didn't find it and went through a bunch of ambushes. So I guess I'll try again in the next day or so.
