Salon repeated that guy's slander of Elder Scrolls, though ultimately they said he was using extreme language and that's counter-productive. Not that they're heavy-hitting journalism, either.
Seems like they don't want to leave that alone do they. I wonder why anyone makes those ridiculous assertions, the bad part is that there are people who do believe in that nonsense.

they r trolling for clicks. ignore them.
The ones for which talk the trash like this is those that have nothing better to do and have to find the bad in something no matter what it is. And like in this case they try to make up something when there is nothing. And if they if they can get enough folks to believe it it inflates their sorry egos.
Now I wish I was able to record game videos like others do. I was passing through riverwood one night just minding my own business and one of the guards says to me "If I catch your hand in my Pocket I'm going to cut it off." So like the good thief Lucinda is she left them patrolling in their small clothes.
Well now don't make my decision any easier on which side to go with sure would have been easier if they had given us a cut and dry decision. But I think that with this one through I'll side with the Imperials and see how things go. One thing for which I wish they allowed for is that you could Name your own saves in the game. Sure would have made things a little easier.
It is not supposed to be easy. But I recommend making your decisions based on discovered In Game info rather than walkthroughs or tips; makes the playthrough memorable based on the character.
My last Altmer started as a Thalmor plant, but when he discovered the dishonor on display in the higher ranks, he chose to oppose them.
But one can make saves on the PC version; is how I was able to alter past decisions. While the name simply is labeled by location, I usually make key saves at key locations that are easy to ID.
I don't really use walkthroughs I usually go with my mood and what I decide to do at the time. Try to watch some of the areas for which I go into randomly though as I worry about messing up one of the quest by going into an area sooner than I am suppose to.<LOL>

And people still rant about the lady who dissed Mass Effect on Fox News, 6 or 7 years after the fact. Non-gamers can't even be bothered to read a wiki when reporting on video games, because they just assume it's all immature crap.

Wiki is not a reliable source, as it may edited by nearly anyone. And a decent section of gamers are immature; MMO's, Forums, and review sites like are often an example of this.
Still, lauding or bashing a product based on unseen or non-contextual materials is unwise; be it a reporter or gamer.
To get back on topic, I managed to get Skyrim running with a ton of .ini settings extracted from tesv.exe, but the file is early 2013 and I can't remember how I got it. So skyrim.ini is about 37k instead of the normal 2k. haha.
That wagon ride at the start looks a lot better with tweaked settings. I still get odd behavior though, once in awhile. Had the wagon in front of us invert/twist upon itself once and end up parked sideways against a building, prisoners intact. Was a sight to behold.
so...I finally got back into Skyrim as I never really touched the DLC. Finished the main Dawnguard quest and now working on building the Hearthfire houses.
My question is, I'm noticing now that my maxed out skills have a "Legendary" option which resets the skill to 15 and returns its perks. What is the usefulness or aim of this and should I bother doing it with my level 59 main character?

It basically lets you level indefinitely. Other than that it gives you back all of the perk poiints spent in that tree.

For me, use it only on Skills that I do not use frequently or have invested perks (eg; Lockpicking). Not really comprehending the logic of this myself.
ah, so is it good to use it on skills frequently used (for my current character this would one-handed, smithing, and heavy armor) or not so frequently (enchanting, lockpicking)?
There is a prestige option for skills? I haven't touched Skyrim in ages, but I do have the Dragonborn DLC to beat still... eventually... Maybe that would re-hook me into the game.

I wouldn't, as I need Skills such as Archery, Sneak, etc to remain high in total. For those on the PC, there is a mod that allows Uncapping, though I do not use it myself; appears to be a better fix.
I've got 3 Amulets of Talos for which I can't get out of my inventory due to it being a marked a quest item. The one I picked up in solitude off the dude whose head the lopped off for being a traitor. Can someone please remind me who in the heck I've got to return it to. Tried Greta his widow but it wouldn't give me the option. Would appreciate the help.

I disagree completely, I don't even think the societies of either games are even comparable at all. They're so alien to each other, that there's almost no point, when I started playing Skyrim, everything was completely different compared to Dragon Age.
If I recall correctly the Tevinter Imperium is run by humans not elves and they are nothing like the Aldmeri Dominon, the Aldmeri Dominion are the medieval ****s, they're more alike Nilfgaard than Tevinter and that's another empire run by humans.
TES is based on various cultures, not just medieval Europe, like Dragon Age is, maybe the Bretons may be similar to Dragon Age but that's about it and not so much either. They're a race born of an elven-human breed that has a talent for magic. They may have political intricacies, but the interesting part about them to me, is the many kingdoms that form High Rock, the Forsworn were one of those kingdoms. Orlais is nowhere near that, and I'll bet that they don't have as much diversity in their culture either. I bet you could make many nations out of all the different Bretons.

Thanks had forgotten about that little girl. But seems to be bugged and it talks about the bug in the Wiki as a known on where of you've got more than one Talos amulet in inventory at the time it won't update out of the journal. Heck I didn't even get any gold. But it did release it as being a quest item so that I could take them out of my inventory of stuff for which I'm carrying. Just have to deal with it being in the journal till I start a new game guess and remember it the next time through.
Now this is weird finally made it to the Blue Palace for the first time this play through and every one is just casually sitting around like they don't have a care in the world. Now if I remember correctly shouldn't there have been someone complaining about some cave called Wolf something or other? Could it be that I am currently to high of a level and waited to long to go there for the first time. I'm between 35th and 40th level.

I have hit such a bug before; seemed to be caused by using Fast Travel to or from cities proper. It appears to be OK to use the function from stables or nearby locations, but the glitch would occur if using actual city locations.
In my case, merchants would remain at home, NPC's would fail to appear for scripted scenes, etc. It required starting a new game and/ or reinstallation. Unclear whether this is the case here, or whether another fix is suitable.
Be sure to install the Unofficial patches if possible, and use BOSS or like program to aid Load Order:
So I take it I can only get them off Nexus and not on steam correct? Are they easy to install and will I have to start a new game?
The Unofficial patches are (or were) available on Steam.
BOSS is a separate program that aids placing plug-ins in the proper order; those declared on a master list anyway. That video should be of help.
Ok now I've downloaded and installed all the Unofficial patches 5 in all. And when I re-start the game and its loading all the mods when it gets to one I get a
"Failed to get details for "Dovahkin Hideout-Compact Edition"! Steam error 15"
Now I even got this error before I installed the patches Could it be that there is something wrong with the mod and that I should try deleting and re-installing it or what?
Remove the Hideout mod from your Steam list for now. Install and run BOSS to place your plug-ins a proper order; note any mods that are unrecognized. For these latter mods, re-read installation and Read Me tips. If this is stable, then try adding more mods, but remember to run BOSS and make adj each time.

I assume that message is coming from the Skyrim launcher? If so, then yes, unsubscribe to that mod, delete its files and re-download, it probably didn't dl properly.
