PC gaming does take much more knowledge and preparation then any other system, but its worth it.

My experience with Deus ex Human Revolution:

1. Buy game.
2. Install
3. Experience no bugs.
4. Enjoy a whole week of excellent gaming at a much better quality level then any console can offer.

BTW# just got in from running some errands and stopped at my local GameStop where I buy my games to pay for it. I asked him about a midnight release for the game on the 10th and he said that they are having a midnight release for it. He looked it up for me and said so far for all version of the game he's got 1,000 pre-orders and thats not counting thos that ordered the Anniversary Ed. And to think that was just at one store.<G>

That's amazing! I wonder how many preorders there are at "my" game shop (and if the fact that you can win a 2m tall and 50 kg heavy dragonborn statue boosted the sales)?
While we're at it, would anyone here want a life-size dragonborn statue if I am the "lucky" winner? :o

I will play Skyrim on my ps3. I dont' think my computer can handle it since I played Dragon Age 2 on low graphic settings. If I like it I will probably buy it for PC too when I get a new computer.

Now not knowing much about the metric system what is the conversion of 2m tall 50kg dragon in English feet and pounds if you know? I'd probably be interested in it.<G>

Interesting new hands on preview:

http://www.dualshock...n-hour-to-play/

I think this guy made it the farthest away from the starting area. He found the carriage travel system and went to some small town far in the North.

Will have to admit that I loved it. Like how he said that he purchased things from the nice lady outside the cave and than he ran her through with his sword and took everything else. Nice guy he is.<LOL> Believe me I'll be @ game stop a little before midnight just itching to get my hands on Skyrim. Image IPB

Serriously are most gamers just sadistic ****s, or on the verge of being serial killers? I mean the only times I have purposly killed the Civies is in Fable, for the property market. And in GTA/Saits Row. Mainly as I'm a horrible driver and run over countless people on the sidewalks. Given the demographics in some of these regions, I then go out and purposely murder people of another group so when I'm finally captured one day it will be for wholesale Murder and not hate crimes.

I'll have to admit that as a general rule I don't make it a point to kill the civies to be honest with you there. Of course you'll have to admit that there are times that some are just plain rude and obnoxious and if nothing else deserve a good beat down. To bad you couldn't give it to them without killing them.<LOL> Now are you just that bad of a driver in the games or in real life as well? Image IPB

Hmm, in real life I drive rather well, but I tend to turn like a policeman all the time. As in I rarely slow down. Most people it doesn't bother, some it scares. But I have no tickets or wrecks. So I guess good. Though I find I contstanly think of armoring my van and plowing it into smaller cars, mail boxes, while grinning to myself at the destruction. Plus I tend to move away from pedistrians in case they jump in front of my car. Not as I care about them, I just don't want to spend $600 for a new windshield. I mean I'm not worried about jail, trust me when I say if I run you over I'm going to keep going, switch my tags with the spare I keep in the back.

And yes I tend to kill some like that, such as that dark elf in oblivion that smart mouths you. While at the same time I shrug at the smart ass Gun dealer in new vegas. So yesI do kill some of them but it tends to be more of a "You know I think the world might be better off if I take you out, reguardless of if your my enemy at this time or not." versus "Lulz I'mma cut them see what happens".

But I never did a beat down, pft doing things halfway will get you nowhere.

Pft >> Not really, just lack of respect for most around me. And yes I have what some may say are Psychopathic tendancies. Don't judge me >>. Plus no need to point that out as I am aware of it. And well really a number of people here have that or worse. I just admit to mine.

I still wonder how they'll get mods to the 360 like they were talking about though as of now Mods are a mute point, even several months past release they are. I mean Oblivion has alot of mods, but how long has it been out? and how many mods where never finished? I know from some of my RTS games alot of mods take forever, or just don't get out.

I don't think I will win that thing though so you shouldn't worry about that.

According to Todd Howard, since they had the Xbox SDK, they were able to take some popular PC mods, put them on the game and output a new Oblivion test Xbox disc very easily for internal use at Bethesda.

Some PC mods, of course would obviously crash the game due to Xbox hardware limitations, but out of the tens of thousands of Oblivion mods out there, there are many that would probably still run on consoles.

The issue doesn't seem to be the technical limitations so much as working out arrangements with MS and Sony, considering the rigorous QA and licensing requirements.

I'm sure we might get something, but I think it'll be like how REACH's map maker and file share playes out, with only the top at best 100 files showing up in the search, unless you look for the name or keywords. I mean lot of space unless bethseda is planning to provide it. Though given the content in the game plus all of the other games I got coming that month and soon after short of maybe skin packs I doubt at least for a few months I would have even one mod on the machine.

Ooookay then.
I'll be picking it up for the 360 in any case. I don't have a PC that can possibly run the game efficiently nor am I the most tech savvy person so the console option is most convenient.
At least for the time being.

Sweden's a beautiful country, one for which i've always wanted to visit and never got the chance. Seen lots of pictrues from friends and folks who have been there though. Maybe it's a good thing if you didn't win it I dont think I could afford the shipping costs.LOL>

I'm not quite sure how Sony and MS would feel about thousands of mods being available for free everyone who bought Skyrim on console. I imagine they would want to derive some revenue from it.

Well if Blizzy's reaction is anything to take at it, I think alot of companies don't like mods to an extent. Funny enough though I could see Microsoft adding "Approved" content, like skins and such, its how with Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires, or once more REACH's file shares and DLC (Well not in the laters case) are free. Microsoft has went a little soft towards mods from the HaloGen days. Nintendo however, even if its an unrealted game, if they see any of there properity in it, they will shut you down.

So its like I was saying we may see something, and you may have to buy the DLer launcher or some such, but if they allow it I doubt they will charge, but it'll most likely be some sort of preapproval type deal, or to upload you have to get a "Pro account".

Agree 100%. I have a 360 too but I'm very happy with DX on the PC. Smooth and hassle-free. Runs in 1080p on my TV without using an upscaler like the 360 does, better settings overall. Low loading times.

I don't regret having a 360. But I certainly don't regret spending time putting together a nice PC either. I did it recently because a lot of new exciting games are coming out this year. I consider Skyrim to be one of those, and at least my hardware is prepared :)

But I can certainly understand why building a PC can be a hassle for some. For example, my stock CPU cooler was basically worthless. The CPU hit 95 degrees without a problem in about a minute at full load. With a custom cooler, I can keep it below 60, overclocked and at high load with my GPU puming hot air into the case at the same time. You sort of have to love that type of thing to be a PC person.

Better graphics to me in no way makes PC gaming worth the extra hassle. Even mods aren't enough to persuade me. Given a choice I'd choose console every time.

Edit: I didn't see that Naughty99 already posted the preview.

That's fair enough. I'm not pretending the PC crowd is better. Some of us just enjoy tinkering with hardware and seeing it pay off in the end, that's all there is to that.

As for Skyrim, I'm wondering how much is known about the leveling system. I heard a bit about it but it was a bit vague.

The leveling will work similar to Fallout 3. In Oblivion you had level scaling, in Skyrim you will have geographical scaling. Geographical scaling means that enemy strength is dependent on the area you're in, not on the players level. From what I understand, the higher up in the mountains you go, the tougher the enemies become.
