I still maintain that they weren't forced, they chose to sign the treaty. It was their choice to end the war, not the Thalmor's not anyone else's.

The Battle-Borns are not the only ones of questionable morals in the Empire. There's the possibility that all the Imperial jarls will attend to the the Thalmor party, each and everyone with their pitiful excuse as to why they're boot lickers, some with worse arguments than others.

I recall a couple Imperials the Jarl of Falkreath that consistently comes across as less than honorable, be it at the party or on his throne., and of course, Maven. And the latter may actually be a better leader than the easily misled Law-Giver. But I cannot recall any other Jarls at the party or elsewhere that are not seemingly far better choices than their counterparts.

Now I know of some lesser attendees that I would like to remove from their offices or from Skyrim (eg; Erikur; Thane of Solitude) , but these do not appear to make laws.

Igmund is another scumbag, he executed the natives of Markarth and then had Ulfric blamed for the deed. The Forsworn in Cidnha mine themselves state it. They can say what they want about Baalgruf, imperial or not, he allows the Thalmor to slaughter Talos worshippers in his hold. Good or bad, doesn't really matter, its the fact that they attend the party at all. Skyrim's so called leaders are at the service of the Thalmor, they send their calls and the Imperial jarls answer.

How can Skyrim fight the Thalmor, when they know so much about everything? How can the Empire claim to protect Skyrim's people when they affiliate themselves with the Thalmor and spit on everything the Nords believe in? There's not even a hint of remorse at all, except for Tullius but we all know what he's like anyway. They want Skyrim to stay in the Empire, but when it comes to the Thalmor they are more significant than Skyrim's needs.

Igmund is still a better choice for me than Silver-Blood.

P.S. Here is another mod that I recommend: Open Faced Helms. This and the suggested compatibility patch are especially nice for the guards:

So Layla Law-Giver over Maven, the kind of person that put Riften into the miserable place tha it is. I don't remember which book talked about it, but there was a scumbag jarl like Maven that made Riften into the hole it is now. No side has a perfect combination of Jarls. Igmund is one of the biggest fools, and is probably paid off by the Silver Bloods anyway, whenever they ask him to deal with that family, he refuses to do so. His guards are in their pockets as well. He's no better than they are, it's the same thing except you have him running the city.

The only difference is that he is an Imperial supporter and a fool, especially when he makes the comment on "not caring about dragons" because the city is made of stone. Still doesn't mean that they can't attack you, you damned fool.

I agree that the Empire might be compromised by the Thalmor. I forgot to mention them in my original post.
I made it my personal mission in the game to screw with them as much as I could.

That being said, I understand why people would side with the Stormcloaks, but I made my decision to back up the Imperials.
And lastly I disagree, Ulfric was a racist b*****ard. From what I gathered from the dark elves in the grey quarter, Ulfric doesn't care about anybody but the Nords.

And yet, a High Elf is one of the most prominent citizens in Windhelm. A few of them, actually.

A High Elf. The people you'd think he'd hate most.

And Dark Elves own a successful farm outside the city gates.

Ulfric wants to reforge Skyrim into what it was originally when the 500 took it away from the Elves to begin with.

The Center of Mankind; Don't really fault him for that, I support self deterimination to a point and i like the human centric ideology of making skyrim a bit more purist. Espeically given that while most of the Nords are not overtly devout to any of the Divines, Nearly all of them support the Hero God of Mankind Talos.

Making the diety his rallying cry when his worship was outlawed was actually quite a bit of genius of Ulfric's behalf its a central figure in Skyrim after all.

Besides the Empire is a dying beast best to free skyrim of it before it collapses inward anyway.

Regardless, my point still stands. Ulfric does not care for anyone who isnt a nord.

edit: yes I realize the Empire has its short-comings as well.
Mistakes were made on both sides. Overall I decided to side in the Imperials. I understand why youd side with the Stormcloaks though.

Ulfric is an honorable man busy fighting a war he views as a just cause, just because he doesn't have time to deal with trivial complaints doesn't mean he hates dark elves, argonians, etc.

I agree that Ulfric was fighting for what he viewed as a just cause.
Theres a specific line of dialogue somewhere from one of the dunmer in the Grey Quarter that states, whenever some of the Dunmer go missing, Ulfric doesnt bat an eye, but when the same thing happens to a Nord, Ulfric would send guards for them.
Its also the beginning of a quest where you rescue kidnapped Dunmers or something.
To say that he's to busy to deal with the problems of the people hes saying hes out to reclaim skyrim for, runs into 2 problems.
1. He makes time for other Nords.
2. It questions his capacity as a leader when he cant protect the people hes supposedly fighting for. An issue that is brought up in the Endless Winter quest.

To be fair to Ulfric, he may be relying on many of those nordic families for support in his cause. Perhaps its unfair, but its realistic when you consider what he is trying to achieve. He doesn't seem to have any trouble with the PC being one of the races commonly looked down upon in the area.

How is the picture imcomplete here?

The High Elf is a Merchant, And owns a fine home within the richer district of the city, The Dark Elf family owns a farm.

Both of these invidiuals speak of winning over the Nords with Hardwork and making themselves useful and magically their situations are better then those who sit in their businesses or homes all day drinking and whining.

Maybe Ulfric cares for those who will aid his city over those who just suck up resources.

Not certain if we mean the same indv, but the High Elf merchant I know is a fence for Thieves.

And the Dark Elves are from the same family tied to assassins on Solsteim, though the former may be innocent.

That is what everyone says and they never provide any evidence to prove it. What the Dunmer say is really not all that well founded. There are Dunmer who complain about the other Dunmer who complain about Ulfric. The Dunmer really have no business making accusations about racism. If the situation were reversed, I'm sure they'd "open up" their country and their cities to the lesser races, after all who wouldn't want a bunch of N'Wahs in their country. I'd bet some of those refugees probably talked about strangers like that in Morrowind back when it wasn't a mess.

The Dunmer should consider themselves lucky, Windhelm was opened up to them, which is not only the oldest city in Skyrim but the most traditionalist as well. But oh no "it is not our fight", "None of that matters to me, until someone takes a Dunmer, I'll let Windhelm deal with its own problems". With attitudes like that its not wonder the Nords don't like them. Like I said before, the Dunmer want to live in a city without actually contributing to it. Both Imperials and Altmer live in Windhelm and they are not discriminated. How interesting that these two races are Ulfric's enemies right now and they don't seem to be discriminated.

Maybe Ulfric should put the Argonians and the Dunmer together, then we'll see what happens when they start killing each other.

Erm if memory serves the Dummner do not view the lizard folk as people yes?

No they don't and neither do they see the Khajiit as such. That's why the Argonians invaded Morrowind, that's also a reason to keep them apart. Otherwise its like dealing with a war on two fronts, Ulfric can't afford to have people killing each other in Windhelm in the middle of a war, its for their safety, the cities well being and everyone else's safety.

How convenient that Brunwulf Free-Winter ends up taking the same steps when he gets to be Jarl. A fact a lot of people ignore.

I always was under the impression that Ulfric didn't care for anyone but the Nord folks as well. Especially from the way he comes off when he talks and from listening to some of the others. That is why I decided to side with the Imperials as well this time through. Usually when I play through I've sided with the Storm cloaks.

As for the Thalmor Lucinda my female high elf hates them with a passion. Their arrogant and think that ever one is beneath them even some of their own people. Not only does she kill thalmor whenever she has the chance she where an amulet  to Talos around her neck whenever there around. One of the mistakes for which they made with the game is that if the Thalmor seen someone with one of them amulet on them they should deal with them appropriately. since worshipping Talos is banned.

Now I ran into about 1/2 dozen give or take in the Jarls are in Markeath.. I was wearing the Talos amulet and  when they met me what did he do? They didn't arrest me even though I blantly and openly had the amulet on they asked me to investigate some poor sap and bring them evidence that he was worshiping Talos. I would have loved to have been able to laugh in his face and say what do you see around my neck are you blind or just stupid.

Now the reason for which she is so against the Thalmor is the fact that when she was only 5 years old she seen Thalmor guards kill her mom and dad and swore she would kill all of them if it took the rest of her life. So she is for whatever they the thalmor are against.

Now I just wish that one of the DLC's for which they had released would have had to do with dealing with the thalmor so that we could finally kick their arses once and for all.<LOL>

Not going to get into the whole civil war mess again, but the Hlaalus are a big house, it's not just one family as in a nuclear family. And Dunmer politics has always included assassins as part of the deal- the Morag Tong were accepted by the great houses as just part of the landscape. But yes, House Hlaalu was pro-empire and thus disgraced and run out when the empire abandoned Morrowind, so it's no surprise some of them have ended up in Skyrim. And no surprise they're not crazy about rebelling Nords. Little too close to home for comfort, probably.

*bypasses the pointless arguing*

Had fun making the roads safe last night as I ran from place to place doing Companions quests. FIgured I'd wrap them up before picking up Serana. Not a fan of werewolf form so going to ditch it while helping Kodlak's spirit. Might go the vampire route later (vanilla vampire that doesn't require feeding) just to mix things up a bit. Would fit in with my character's so-far-hidden assassin tendencies.

Seriously though. Is that the worst thing you can say about someone?

You're not a man because you drink milk. Now go back to your parents!

Really?

Mr T, what do you have to say about this?

Don't think you're looking at it right. Anyway, N'Wah is a better insult, wish it got tossed around more in Skyrim. It seems only the enemies in Solstheim make a habit of using it.

Yeah that "milk-drinker" attempted insult cracked me up too, as I was having a cold glass of milk when he said it. I bet my bones are stronger than any alcoholic's. :P Not to mention I've outlived a few of my associates who were a little too given to drink. (May they RIP.)

My fave insult is calling someone a Snowberry.

Another mod suggestion is for paper looking maps; based either from Oblivion or Skyrim/ LotR appearances:
