Finally working my way through the Helgen Reborn mod. So far I'm definitely enjoying it a lot. Also decided that with this playthrough, I'm not going to go to the cities til I have a reason to. Thankfully between the Vilja mod and Helgen Reborn, the quests are spread out enough to justify my Dragonborn traveling about.

Restored Serana's weight to 20 and fixed all her travel/disappear/neck issues. Ridiculous how changing a single NPC variable can lead to so many issues.
Running around doing side quests like a fiend. My goal is to do misc. and guild quests, then civil war, then dragon/dawnguard/dragonborn. Eventually I'll let Serana bite me, will disable Essentials, and go on a murder spree of guards, soldiers, and non-merchant npcs. ![]()

Are screenshots even worth posting now? A white background? Really? I have a headache just after looking at these forums for 5 minutes. Well, let's see:

Yeah really do like the larger sizes so Im thinking even more screenies would be great! Also your character really looks like my main gal in that shot so I approve ![]()
Been a few months since I've played, Kind of did it hard for several months straight so got the burn eventually. Almost ready to go back dungeon delving though. I left with my second character exploring Solsteim so pleanty to uncover still

Since I think I'm going quite insane from looking at trees and never being quite 100% happy with them, I suppose I'll post an image here to see what people think and if they have suggestions for tree mesh/texture mods.

I thought it was a tad overkill to have about 50-75 mods running at once, but I see I have a lot more to go. I do have a few things I want to improve visually like distant texture quality, and to see if I can get the grass to render a bit further away than it currently is.

A couple of screens from a mod I've been working on that adjusts the lighting in most dungeons.

Seems like you're using a grass mod already. You could use Skyrim Flora Overhaul if you want more than just grass.

I'm more going for just the trees at this point. I currently do have SFO and Lush Trees/Grass for mods that I'm trying.
My main issue with the grass is that in more open areas like around Whiterun you can see off in the distance where the grass just suddenly ends. I've tried increasing the render distance on the grass in the .ini file to 3x the normal, but it didn't seem to change much. I think it's just a limitation of how the engine swaps over to the "long range" textures at some point, and trying to override that is probably a very bad idea for my video card =P

Perhaps you could also add Detailed Terrain and Tree LOD; also Optimizer Textures to aid in overall mgt.
@ Naughty - Your lighting mod looks much like what I am getting with a combo of CoT and ELFX. Good job!

Oh, thanks for pointing that out, I had not heard of ELFX before, and it seems a little similar to my mod. Does it require using a torch in most dungeons?

Not quite, but it does get dark where it needs to get dark, however it doesn't over-do it like COT did and it manages to do it better than RLO, in my opinion anyway.

Perhaps, as I use the Predator Vision mod by Gopher rather than torches. Also, Gopher has done a vid on various lighting mods including ELFX if that would aid in comparisons.

That's where I got my conclusions, Predator Vision is great, its too bad that it never works for my games, I always try to use it but whenever I try to change its settings nothing happens, the keys become unresponsive. I've tried searching for that problem and it seems nobody knows what causes it.
ELFX is the best, better than RLO and COT's lighting module.

Ah good to hear! My goal is to make most dungeons a bit more creepy and believable as ancient ruins, where the player will definitely need to stock up on torches or lanterns and oil.
It always bugged me that many ancient catacombs and uninhabited places were so brightly lit. I wondered who exactly was running around lighting all the candles everywhere.

Try the Lighting Vid in Gopher's beginner Modding Series (looks like my copy & paste days are over).

Look around and see if you can find a cheap copy of the GOTY edition of the game, it might be the better buy.
On X-box at least, it was actually cheaper to buy the game again just to get the 3 DLC's on disk than it would have been to buy them individually online, and getting a new unscratched disk as well didn't hurt.
Plus that let me sell my old copy to get more money back.
I haven't actually played any of the DLC yet though, I'm going to wait until I've done almost everything in the main game first.

Dragonborn first. Both if you can find an extra $2,50 - $5 US for Hearthfire
