Yeah see, that notion is apparently only held together via conjecture by TES subscribers and not anything inherent in the lore of the Divine and the creation of the Nirn, if Beth ever declared him to be the same as that deity fine, until then i will consider him his own separate entity.

What lore exists of the creation of Nirn, and of the nature of divine entities that isn't from in-universe texts and quotes?

If you do the CW before the TG, one of the buildings needed to be accessed will be blocked with no way around. There are likely more locations that are limited to acces but I can't remember all of them.

Are you talking about Heimskr's house in Whiterun? Yeah, that one's not a big deal. It's one of the random radiant jobs that Vex sends you on. If you get it, simply return to Vex and tell her you want to Quit That Job, and she'll just give you another one.

I've been meaning to ask:  Are there any other areas in the game that can only be entered once?

Yes. I know of one other one for sure off the top of my head, and it's, again, part of the Thieves Guild, and even that one only gets Half-closed off. The Dwarven Ruin (Irkngthand) that you get sent on when chasing after Mercer. The main area gets flooded.....

Thanks for the replies.  It looks like doing thieves guild->civil war-> dark brotherhood or thieves guild->dark brotherhood->civil war should avoid most problems.

Does a different quest cause that to get flooded (if so, which one?), or does it flood during the quest where you chase Mercer?

Would a piece of gear enchanted with breath underwater allow me to negate the problem?

LOL that's lame. (the armor you've equipped on Anneke Crag-Jumper is cool looking though!)

Well, I like running stupid useless mods and the RD horse fits that criteria. Next I am going to get the "Patrick FUS RO DA" mod :D

That dungeon only floods after you chase Mercer into it and he invokes the power of the Skeleton Key. I also believe the dungeon is one that is normally locked until said quest is active. (http://elderscrolls....wiki/Irkngthand)

Yes, gear enchanted with underwater breathing allows you to remain underwater indefinitely. No scripts negate this.

If you have Dragonborn DLC, there is another dungeon that employs the flooding mechanism, as a puzzle, and you can only access the full dungeon on your first time through (can only raise the water level on subsequent visits). It is also initially locked. (http://elderscrolls....m/wiki/Nchardak)

I finished the CW last night and am glad I did all/most of the side quests beforehand; several buildings are blocked off in the cities where battle took place. I then brought the main quest into parity with Dawnguard so finding the elder scroll (dragon) will update both quest lines. My character's retirement is in sight. ^_^

You could try the Trolololol mod if you haven't already. (http://www.nexusmods...kyrim/mods/834/)

LOL I might have to.

A normal day in Skyrim is when you got all that badass armor and weaponry that is very lore un-friendly while riding a magical pony with half naked chicks following you in a  frozen wasteland.

New mod for me: Real Shelter which removes precipitation coming through from several areas such as tents, overhangs, etc.  The description suggests this mod may have been available long ago, but it is seemingly remade and new to me. There is a CoT version, and another without it.

Hmm, I have started adding a few mods to my game (the unofficial patches and Hi-Res packs). Supposedly the Skyrim.esm & Update.esm files should be showing up on the Data Files list. However, they do not appear on there even though they are located within the C: -> Program Files (x86) -> Steam -> SteamApps -> common -> Skyrim -> Data folder.

Here is what the Data File order list currently:

Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp

Dawnguard.esm

Unofficial Dawnguard Patch.esp

HearthFires.esm

Unofficial HearthFires Patch.esp

Dragonborn.esm

Unofficial Dragonborn Patch.esp

HighResTexturePack01.esp

HighResTexturePack02.esp

HighResTexturePack03.esp

Unofficial High Resolution Patch.esp

So why are the Skyrim.esm & Update.esm files not appearing on the list? Is this normal or is there a problem?

Are you running BOSS and utilizing the Nexus Mod Manager? If so, I see both as Plug-Ins at the top of said list.

I have NMM but I did not realize that BOSS is needed. I am going to download it and see if that solves the problem.

BOSS and Load Order has a tutorial on Gopher's playlists; recommended.

I can't recall clearly, but I believe Skyrim's launcher hides Skryim.esm and Update.esm because they are core game files. I also suggest using NMM unless you choose to get mods off of Steam. BOSS isn't required but it simplifies the job of maintaining a stable load order and is thus recommended for most people.

In my game I got through those blasted dark caves last night, and am now in the hidden vale for a Dawnguard quest. Will knock that out tonight and might even finish the DLC. Overall I don't like it nearly as much as Dragonborn DLC.

Okay, the NMM was not working properly before but now since it is working properly I can see the Skyrim.esm & Update.esm files on the top of the order list. NMM does state the Unofficial Patches are marked as .esm despite having the .esp extension. I take it that is normal?

I just want to make sure I have the basic patches & unofficial patches out of the way before I add extra mods to the game. Any recommended DLs to maximize the graphics of this game? My card can easily handle it.

@ Endurium - For me, the DG DLC plays much better when interacted with the rest of the game; not separately. This way it feels less like Fed_Ex questing, and offers a great way to examine most of the map on the roads. Also, the patch released at the same time also added Mounted Combat, darkened dungeons, water currents, and lots more. For me, far more content here, though I still enjoy Dragonborn.

@ RB - For my game, Climates of Tamriel and ELFX are my weather and lighting mods of choice.  Realistic Water Two is my water mod, aMidianBorn for textures and SMIM and Better Shaped Weapons for meshes. Lush Trees and Grass and Detailed Terrain and Tree LOD aid distant views. Then sprinkled with immersion and rule alteration mods for taste.

The unofficial patches masquerade as .esm files due to certain engine/toolset limitations; they explain that somewhere on their nexus documentation. Nothing to worry about.

You might look up Realvision ENB for visual mods (listed further down the page on this mod's documentation tab), and there's a list of G.E.M.S. mods (typically voted to be of high quality/usefulness) you could search for to get started. Everyone has their own tastes when it comes to visuals so look at the screenshots and make your choices.

I am coordinating DG with MQ to the extent they overlap, and it's not feeling Fed-Ex-like at all. I just don't like the super-dark caves on the way to Auriel's Bow; all that squinting makes my eyes hurt. For now I've modded the imagespaces for those caves to use standard cave lighting, which helps for now. As for my overall feel of DG I think it's just the content (vampires) that doesn't interest me much, though I enjoy Serana and some of the Dawnguard personalities. I vastly prefer DB's ambience, portrayal of Apocrypha, and even the quests overall. My subjective opinion of course. I do like the other items you mention being added via patch.

I will take a look at all these files that all of you have recommended later. I will have to pay attention to the compatibility of these mods. I have already installed Immersive  Armors since that looked appealing to me. Thanks.

After downloading some mods today, I have discovered that my Update.esm and each DLC .esm files have "dirty edits". Should all of these files be cleansed by TES5Edit or would the Unofficial patches I have downloaded override the dirty edits for the DLC files?

I do not have the Unofficial Patches so I have no idea what is going on with your game. If this were normal mods then yes, I could help but I never even used these fixes.
