It was hilarious when Lydia switched up on me though. XD
I will skin your dog and use his pelt for an additional length of my robe.

You bastard!
For myself, Project Reality: Climates of Tamriel and ELFX are my essential lighting mods. Also Realistic Water Two for water, SMIM and Better Shaped Weapons for meshes, and aMidianBorn mods for textures. See Gopher's playlist for Beginner Modding series for recommendations, tips, and tutorials.
I've not jumped onto the aMidianBorn mods yet (aside from blade of woe if I recall), but I do use the others mentioned after trying several alternatives (where alternatives exist). ELFX does a good job of focusing on lighting, and I love the interiors especially. However, like most light-mods it subscribes to "darker is better" a bit too much, so for example you'll find NPCs sitting in complete darkness in public places or in their homes. Thus I'll be adding lights as I deem it necessary. ELFX is a great base to start with.
Also did some work with TESVEdit's "deep copy as override" right-click feature (aka copying a record and all of its sub-records). I wanted a way to combine multiple plugins of my choice into a single plugin for easier maintenance and oversight. This feature let me pick and choose which plugins to copy and which records within those plugins to copy. Great for merging multiple small mods that are no longer updated, but which I enjoy using.
You bastard!
I am not Jon Snow!
I actually know things!
@ Endurium - You might wish to look at Nexus mod 26230; offers patches for several mods no longer supported by their authors.

Yeah I found that to be a similar issue but I use ELFX with climates of Tamriel and I have it set to the default brightness and it works. There's some places that are a bit darker but usually it's places where you'd expect it to be dark.

When using CoT, I do not use the darker nights or indoor settings; allow ELFX to control these.

What are your favourite spell mods out there?
I hear there are ones for spell crafting Oblivion style.
Currently I use Balanced Magic from Nexus, and Exalted Magic: Indefinite Buffs from Steam; do not get much into spells that are varied from Vanilla.

The biggest issue with magic mods, is that they have the potential to make the Thu'um redundant.

I like the Apocalypse spell mod.
But I love hilarious OP magic.
As for Thu'um. The only shouts I tended to use were Unrelenting Force and Become Ethereal when I wanted to get down a mountain fast or needed to hit an oh **** button.
The mods I listed help scale lower spells to level, and let some spells be maintained w/o spamming them like in DA. Instead of costing Magika, it reduces the pool. Nothing here detracts from Shouts, as they are still my primary form of magic.

Thanks Elhanan; I didn't see any mods I use on that list, but I bookmarked it for future reference.
The mods I combined are a few: Immersive thunder (love this mod), realistic force & ragdolls, skyrim bigger trees, and a few very small mods.
Of those that do have patches, I use the Open Face Helms mod; aids in improving appearances and allowing the guards to be seen as indv; recommended.
My fave mod is the one that lets u have a farm near hjarhamimimasljhsetjhkndsf. Or however its spelt. I grow nothing but wheat and potatoes. My favourite feature is the fact that theres an outhouse besides the stables.
And theres that mod where u can have your own shops. I sell my Ebony gear for 1:1 and use the savings to fund my farm/spoil Sofie and Lucia rotten. I both gave them Daedra daggers with Grand-Ench Turn Undead/Fear.
As daddy dovahkiin it made the most sense using these enchantments since one slice from these things will scare most things away. Except Daedra. But if my children and a daedra are in the same room, odds are we're screwed anyways.
I finally got hearthfire if u guys remember, I was wondering if i should get dragonborn or hearthfire first. I got hearthfire.
Its so nice having houses.
Now Im loaded with cash and besides the farm and my stores, I have a TRAIN-99-per-level mod and the SKYRIM COLLEGE mod. These along with my massive moneyz means I will pay for al my skills to hit lvl 90.
Once thats done Im thinking of just legendarying my archery...
It was oddly satisfying telling the adoption lady that I was the goddamn archmage of Winterhold.
Does anyone have any clips of Brelyna with the OFC mode I keep hearing about? Maybe I'll add it. I wish the followers had more personality. Really any mods that adds personality is welcomed. U guys have any suggestions?
People adopt children? I just kill all of them.

This looks like fun but may get old quickly

I heard about that one.
Very "Harry Potter" esque.
I mean that in a good way.
Wow the Sky Haven temple bug is pretty ridiculous. How is there no patch for this crap?!?
Bucket backdooring
I just like my katana mods which I have loads of and fill my mod houses with katanas and stuff.
Check this out.
