ill take vanilla over SkyUI any day, its just so much easier to use and clutter free

I agree. The only reason I use SkyUI is to be able to actually change certain things about the mods I use.

Would that suck more or less than a second Dragon Break?

I hate the idea of a Dragon Break. BOOM! Everything happened! Therefore, all of the choices in our games are MEANINGLESS!! AHAHAHAHAHAHA! *continued maniacal laughter*

I'm a console player myself so this suggestion wouldn't be much good to me either.

Hothtrooper44 had produced a mod of all of his favourite armours called... "Immersive Armours".

In this collection there is a set of armoured robes. I don't know their armour ratings though.

*snip*

Unless something has changed in the last time I played Skyrim with that mod (4 months?) the "armored" robes seemed to always be the unarmored versions (when you encountered them on NPCS) even if you changed what the armors should be in SkyUI.

Which I always found annoying. It seemed that the choice for what type of armor the robes should be was only for the crafted version, and I don't have time for crafting.

Skyrim's crafting is pretty similar to the crafting in MMOs. You have to slowly grind up your smithing profciency in order to make better armor. That type of crafting bores the hell out of me in MMOs, and hell if I want to experience that in a single player game! /mini-rant

I don't understand what the better alternative for Daggerfall's ending is? The Dragon Break is elegant. It didn't totally invalidate your choice without having to choose a canonical outcome for the Iliac Bay region. The devs also expanded its place beyond Daggerfall, having a spot in TES metaphysical lore.

I encountered a bug while using Immersive Armors, and since I was still choosing the same sets, chose to remove it. A well made mod, but was not for me.

As for crafting, I use the Console Commands to bypass any grinding; also dislike MMO type of repetition (Note: SWTOR allows your Followers to do this if you wish to skip it). But someone has also made a mod that might be of use to those that wish to leave the Smithing to the proper merchants:

Interesting mod.

Perks are precious in Skyrim.

Especially considering the fact that it takes a long time at later levels to level up.

This can save you 5-7 perks for dragon armour path, 5-6 perks for daedric armour path and 10 perks for must max everything path.

For those who have Skyrim Redone or Requiem this could potentially save even more perks.

Personally I like my Dragonborn being good at smithing, enchanting and alchemy.

I like the satisfaction of crafting my own stuff.

What I'd like for smithing is a gear design table.

You draw the shape colour and designs for your armour and weapons. Select materials that would be used and then add your new design to the possibilities to craft at a forge.

I also recommend Perks Unbound, plus any patches that help update it. This one allows the Player to take some specific Perks without all the prereqs. Certain Perks do not qualify, but generally this mod helps focus on getting ones that the Player chooses as a priority.

thing i dislike the most about skyrim's crafting is that it is tied into my adventure lvl, lvl up crafting you lvl up your adventure lvl, god i hate that, i craft like hell, now im lvl 10 - 15 without any combat skills, go me

I bypassed it by using, i suppose you could say cheat lol, mod that allows me to basically just max out the skill without lvling up, i prefer this simply because i think they would have done better having a separate crafting and adventure lvl

It's funny that they cleared up a lot of the mess Oblivion made of things, but they left in the single worst part of the scaling.

You guys don't like to RP a character who has little combat experience? Like a Bard or a monk??

Thing is, you play the same content but your PC is just weaker. It'd be different if playing a monk or a smith was actually interesting in itself.

Hey, could someone explain to me what use the Leveler's Tower is? I'm not sure I see what the point is of getting to a high level right away, since everything just scales. I can see skipping the smithing grind -- without a deliberate grind or constantly buying training I don't see how likely it is that you'll stay ahead of the random drops. But getting to the high-level equipment early just seems like a roundabout way to lower the difficulty level.

This is probably just me not understanding the playstyle.

I do not use the mod, but I often utilize Console Commands to avoid grinding, repetitive practicing for the sake of time. The problem for me is self-restraint, but once imposed, it works like this: use the desired skill on something, accept the visuals as a montage moment of the passing of time, then add the bonuses desired. One can even use rest or waiting to make advances of time possible. For me, it is not about getting to the gear (also easily accessed via mods or commands), but to avoid the tedium in games.

As for some other items like Shouts or abilities gained via quest, it also could be done to avoid repetition. However, for me, if this were the case, it may be better to take a break from the game rather than skipping such content.

Something I don't follow here. If you're not interested in getting to the better stuff, then why use those skills at all?

To avoid repletion, tedium, and annoyance. By using cc to make X Ebony arrows instead of chopping firewood, and Smithing, it saves time. Same goes for spamming Spells, Smithing and Enchanting jewelry, etc; dislike grinding, MMO techniques quite a lot.

All that time saved, and still have over 2800+ hrs; do not believe it has spoiled the game for me.

Awesome lodge mod suggestion, thanks! Although the other two look like mods to make ladies hotter... not really my thing since I'm more into the fellas, hehe ^^ So if anyone has suggestions to make Skyrim dudes look better, I'd be mighty interested :)

Still looking for mods to make male elves not look like creepy aliens!

Doesn't the elven overhaul include males? Or did you not like it?

I know this is asking a lot, but I'm only okay with animé overhauled appearances if the entire landscape of Skyrim and all of the assets are given the animé overhaul.

Having a bright, clean and unrealistic looking animé characters in a grim, gritty realistic environment just don't really work for me. They just stick out like sore thumbs.

Some of the more "fantasy" looking graphics mods look great with animé characters.

If you are going to go down this route, I highly recommend the more fantastic graphics mods.

It's down to personal choice.

Animé characters really fit a mod like the one below.

*jaw drop* You can make them look like that?! I must have missed that one when I was perusing the screenshots  OMG Yes, that's exactly what I'm looking for LOL Okay, I think I'm mostly ready to start playing modded Skyrim. Just need to purchase a PC controller and I'll be good to go. Oh, and I need to watch those "how to mod" videos >.> I have a feeling modding Skyrim isn't going to be as easy as modding the Sims *sighs*

re: anime characters, well, no, I'm just looking for more "Legolas" and less ... whatever you want to call the default elf dudes lol

Yeah sadly most of the improvement mods seem to be female based but if you go digging long enough you'll find some real gems for the males as well.

XD Yeah there's a horde of guides.

Agreed. The default elves are just
