THE GRAPHICS

t6xFXbn.jpg

Elder Scrolls VI: Elsweyr:

The Tone: Mixture of dark and mysterious with some edgy themes, but also a tongue in cheek comedic attitude. Expect lots of goofiness and silliness in a varied landscape. Great rocky desert, forests, swamps, beaches, lush vegetations, dry arid lands and of course a large variety of different Khajiit types.

So if you're looking for a darkly comic adventure full of swash buckling, exotic locations, theft, betrayal, assassination and necromancy then Elsweyr is for you.

Plot: As for the plot. Rather than dealing with yet another end of the world type scenario, this is more political. There is scheming, political manoeuvring and guilds actually playing a big part in the main plot. All of the guilds are specific to Elsweyr and the NPCs are meant to be fleshed out characters each with their own unique sense of humour.

Basically Elder Scrolls with the swashbuckling comedic chops of Monkey Island, the political manoeuvring of Game of Thrones and some dark themes.

Also set in Elsweyr.

I was remarking more about the picture LP posted.

Actually, if we were to go by the development cycles of Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim... it's entirely possible a new TES will be announced this year. I know that's not much to go on but the best indicatior of the future is the past. We shall see.

I'd like to see Fallout 4 before a new Elder Scrolls...

Awesome image.

Which Elven race is he?

Is he the Falmer that is represented by the statue in the Thieves Guild Quest-line in Skyrim?

It's Vivec, from Morrowind.

You don't know who Vehk is? He's a hermaphroditic chimer god-king who looks half-dunmer because he didn't want the dunmer to feel angsty about being cursed by Azura. He's been into some devious ****, like shoving his muatra down azura's mouth, or banging molag bal and spawning a race of monsters.

Here's a depiction of him penetrating nerevar with his long muatra.

Spoiler

I haven't played Morowind. Yet.

Though I gather he's the main antagonist that the Neverene has to kill...

The Neverene being the player.

You're in for a treat then. Morrowind has the most soul of all the Elder Scrolls games, it's a masterpiece, and it has swaglord Fargoth in it

Vivec isn't necessarily an antagonist. He allegedly betrayed nerevar but it's really left up in the air as to whether he did or not. He's a really intriguing character and you'll see why if you read about him, I could never find it in me to kill him. The thirty six lessons are a good info dump on vivec.

No. Vivec is not the main antagonist.

The picture you're looking at is called Foul Murder, drawn by Michael Kirkbride. I think it's basically a revelation that the Tribunal did kill Nerevar Indoril, but there's specific symbolism on how he was impaled, dismembered, and flayed.

Vivec was defeated by Cirus the Redguard (Hoon Ding) in Yokuda, then used CHIM to erase MEMORY.

I haven't beaten Morrowind yet but I love how chock-full of lore and craziness that the others seem to lack. Daggerfall was the first TES game I experienced, Oblivion was first TES I ever beat...still working on Morrowind.

Replaying Skyrim. As a high elf. Going to try to get myself to side with the imperials (gags). I wish I could save Hadvar and let her die. Alas.

For anyone who played Elder Scrolls Online.

Please could you private message me on any tips you picked up when playing that game?

There are loads of potential builds.

The four classes look awesome.

Also the shared abilities look great.

That said I'm not entirely sure which class is best for a "battle mage" type build, since all 4 can achieve this but in different ways.

I have no intention of derailing this discussion. This is a Skyrim discussion after all.

FINALLY MY GAME IS FUNCTIONAL.

But yeah loving Journal of the Dragonborn. I have my high elf as a snooty troll.

He's currently ranting about the Hall of the Dead quest in Whiterun. XD when he got that 15 gold he lost his mind. (Especially since I'm playing on legendary and those skeletons would pretty much one shot me :( and I'm playing a magic only character. And too poor for hirelings now DX)

A snooty troll.

That would be an epic player race.

Frost_Troll_Skyrim.png

Snooty Troll: Pfft. Another Nord acting as though they own the place. Everyone knows that Skyrim belongs to the trolls.

Ulfric Stormcloak: Are you talking to me?

Snooty Troll: No, Mr Stormcloak. I was talking to myself! Come to think of it I might as well be talking to myself. Only way to get an intelligent conversation.

Ulfric Stormcloak: I suggest you watch your tongue you dirty troll.

Snooty Troll: You have the gall to call me "dirty"? Bah. Take a look at yourself. When was the last time you had a wash?

Ulfric Stormcloak: Two hours ago. I had to wash myself of the blood of a thousand Imperial soldiers. What was the last thing you killed?

Snooty Troll: You know. The usual. Some High Elf who thinks he better than everyone else and a bunch of peasants who made fun of me.

Ulfric Stormcloak: I defended Skyrim, my friend the Dragonborn slew Alduin and your contribution is...

Snooty Troll: Stealing peoples sweet rolls and killing people who disrespect me. Quite an important contribution if I may say so.

Ulfric Stormcloak: Very well. You shall have my blade, but you'll have to kill me first.

[Snooty Troll flails his arms and insults Ulfric Stormcloak before being Fus Ro Dah'ed off a cliff. Somehow the Snooty Troll Survives].

Snooty Troll: Pfft. Amateur!

Came across a mod yesterday I chose to add to the Load Order, as I will be starting afresh without prior saves the next time I play. It is called Master of Disguise; here is a vid to explain what it does:

Be sure to watch it in full context, as a Khajiit wearing that outfit has severe penalties.
