Came across a mod yesterday I chose to add to the Load Order, as I will be starting afresh without prior saves the next time I play. It is called Master of Disguise; here is a vid to explain what it does:

Be sure to watch it in full context, as a Khajiit wearing that outfit has severe penalties.

I also added this one recently. Some fun new gameplay features for a stealthy character.

Since there's no place to go. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

Hey guys; my son just gave me his 360 slim AND the Legendary edition (he got an Xbone)

So, long story short-- I already had Dragonborn & Dawnguard, so what is the best part about Hearthfire...?

Making the customized estates and obtaining Stewards for them. My personal fave location lies N-E of Whiterun, though the property is gained in Dawnstar, I believe.

How do I obtain a steward? Same as a follower.. Just do 'em a favor or give 'em a few hundred Septims?

As I recall, some can simply be asked, or perhaps perform a minor task for them like spousal candidates. Look for a list of possible candidates on-line; my fave was from the Dawnguard NPC's.

It depends on the follower/NPC.

This site has a comprehensive list of who can be a steward and how to get them: http://elderscrolls....rd_(Hearthfire)

It'll be far more informative than I possibly could  :)

The way I play these, I install all the DLC and a lot quest mods deliberately avoiding the spoilers on how to start specific quests. I just play through the game normally and if I encounter something that seems interesting for the character I'm playing, I'll investigate further.

Probably took about a year before I found the Dawnguard quest, and I still haven't found any of the Hearthfire quests. At any rate, I almost never earn enough gold to buy a house in this game, and I think that's the main point of Hearthfire.

Hearthfire HAS NO quests. The point is customization & spoiling Nord brats.

Skyrim has so many orphans.

So make a house and then have housecarls look after them.

Oh and you can get married.

The weddings in Skyrim are what I imagine weddings in Las Vegas to be like: pick up a guy at a bar, take him to the chapel, get married with 2 or 3 nosey people looking on, then get a crappy ring as a reward....... :D

Absolutely the worst part of Skyrim for me, not to mention the lack of immersion. I mean, how many spouses would be fine with cooking warm meals and sharing profits as wedded bliss?

Silver Lining: Romance with pixelated characters is not of primary importance to my gaming, so it could have been worse.

Considering most spouses seem to be homeless, I can well imagine them being pretty comfortable with warm meals and sharing profits!! :P

But I absolutely agree with you. Then again, what else would one expect from a game which such little character development? Anything else would have been..... odd, to say the least!! xD

Many spouses have homes, I believe. And having a warm meal is one thing; being asked to make it every time is another.

The sad thing is that Skyrim can have some decent characters: Serana, Neloth, Paarth, etc. It just does not emphasize it. Personally would have preferred not to have marriage in the present state, but simply skip it in most campaigns. It still remains a great game.

Did you post that photo because Kaley Cuoco said that she cooked for her partner and wasn't a feminist?

Well it's her choice. I'd probably do the same for the hypothetical female partner (I'm a dude by the way). Especially if the hypothetical partner doesn't like cooking.

I posted it because all the hype/drama about her saying that is SO incredibly stupid and pointless. We all have our own definition of what a "happy marriage" or a good relationship ought to be, even if that includes pessimism about monogamy in general. (guilty)

The feminists and male chauvenists often both commit the same error; assuming that their personal Dogma is somehow right for every person on Earth. Let's all try to think before we speak, shall we? Hmmm??

eh. hearthfire is alright. it is kinda fun to build and decorate a custom house. but i built one and didn't feel like building any others even if i bought all available properties. as for the orphans, my dragonborn hates kids and she would kill them if she had the chance. she's a deadra worshipping killer not a mother.  <_<
