I cannot explain why, but 1st person doesn't feel right to me in Skyrim

Like both now; 1st for Archery sniping and item collection; 3rd for melee and exploration.

I like it because it made me feel more "in" the world. Besides, I don't have that option in a Dragon Age.

That's exactly how I roll Elhanan. I do zoom out to far third person when I'm running fast from A to B, since I'm trying to limit fast travel. Oh, and for the first time, I've actually used carriages because of that. It has had me leveraging horses and carriages a lot, which I generally have not used much of in previous playthroughs. I am thoroughly enjoying this playthrough (about 75 hours into it) after better than a year away from Skyrim.

Pretty much the same here on Fast Travel now, too. I do use it occasionally on recently cleared paths and roads, or as a quick way to find my steed, but have learned not to Fast Travel to a city proper; only the carriage stops, or known areas close to the city. A bug that I have experienced which ruins the triggered events for NPC's seems to be connected to in city fast Travel. This is unconfirmed, but have not had this issue without this being used.

And while I do not use quest mods myself, I really am enjoying the writing of 'Helgen Reborn'; now being seen in Gopher's LPSA series.

For **** sake I hope that the next Elder Scrolls game uses a new engine. When I play other open world games that look so much better than Skyrim running on the same hardware, it's hard for me to understand why Bethesda just can't seem to let go of Gamebryo. You shouldn't have to mod the **** out of a game to get it looking half way decent.

I mean, come on...

Didn't you listen to the Skyrim marketing hype? It does have a new engine!

It just happens to share all of the horrible aspects as the previous engine...but it's somehow better...right?

I'd just be happy if they switched to a different engine so we could experience different bugs. The first time walking into a room and watching all of the objects randomly go flying around in Oblivion/Fallout 3/New Vegas (I can't remember Morrowind in detail) was somewhat amusing, but it quickly becomes annoying after witnessing it in Skyrim for the billionth time despite the "new engine".

Of course, the only "new" things about Skyrim were the graphics and the left/right hand equipping, and that only happened because shouts took up the usual magic keybind.

Edit: Then there's the ridiculous dead bodies flying away issue with the engine.

I love the game for the modding community <3

Installed too many lore-unfriendly content, even though I appreciate the indepth lore and world, I mostly love the game for its freedom.

I could never do that. Unless it's for vampires since there is no lore reason for Skyrim vampires to perform exactly like Cyrodil vampires. Even the Dawnguard vampires were exactly the same if you ignored the horrid face and vampire lord form (which is infinitely better than werewolves).

Is the Elder Scrolls Online worth trying out? Now that it's f2p I was considering buying it, I'll probably wait until it goes on sale though. I played the beta and it seemed decent enough for an mmo.

Been playing Skyrim recently and finally have a stable mod list, I get maybe 1 ctd every so often which is amazing considering the sheer amount of mods I'm using.

I skipped ESO mainly because I could not get them to repair my account for 3+ Beta tests, and the sub fee is outside of my current budget. And while it is available at F2P, folks I knew have already departed, so not worth it for me.

As for Skyrim, I try and maintain my mods and stay updated. Am considering my next DB to be a bit different than the other canonical ones before him, but am still content in DAI for the time being when I am up for gameplay.

I am thinking of getting Elder Scrolls Online now that it is Free To Play.

Which of the four classes is the best in your opinion?

They all have access to the same armour, weapons and crafting skills.

However their three unique skills is what sets them apart.

Templar

Dragonknight

Sorcerer

Nightblade

I just started playing ESO since F2P went live. Currently playing a Dragonknight. I'm actually enjoying it now that I've got my self out of Coldharbour. Way better than what I was expecting. Just trying to learn the systems at present.

What do you like about the Dragonknight?

What class skills do you use?

What non class skills do you use?

Dragonknight has a ton of hardening skills, since I'm currently rolling a 2H Nord tank it fits well.

I'm still fairly low level, but here's what I've taken thus far:

Racial:

2 Hand Expert (Passive); Robust (Passive)

Soul Magic:

Soul Trap

Class (Draconic):

Spiked Armor (Active)

Weapon:

2 Handed - Cleave (Active); Critical Charge (Active)

Heavy Armor:

Resolve (Passive)

Constitution (Passive)

I'm still just running about doing errand quests, earning gold and learning crafting, so I'll get serious soon.

I know this is a Skyrim discussion but real quick, what is everyone's favorite Elder Scrolls game? Mine happens to be Oblivion, I find the quests to be more rewarding and the buildings and cities are definitely more beautiful and intricately designed than Skyrim imho.

Back to Skyrim.  :D I still adore my Bosmer thief. Had some random fun with the new expression settings of Race Menu when I went to tweak his appearance again.

I laughed way too hard.

I should have looked for a mod that unlocks all hair for all the non-beast races way sooner! I always wanted this Imperial hair on him, and now it's finally possible.

He's just fetched Esbern from the Ratway. He can no longer hide behind having fun and stealing stuff and is turning into a reluctant hero.

In order

ES:Morrowind
ES:Oblivion
ES:Skyrim

Morrowind was my first ES game. I was not prepared for how awesome it was ( at that time ).

Someone may have asked this already, but im not caught up in the thread. Since TES 6 information was leaked already, has it since then been revealed in core story elements that may be the focus on this new entry into the series? Juicy details like some prophesied hero known as "X", or if some kind of unique talent will be grafted on to the PC that plays a central part of their story? I know I read somewhere that it's going to focus primarily on the Argonians so its likely to take place in Blackmarsh. So I'm just trying to figure out what to expect, also does anyone think they moved ahead with making this new entry because of the no so spectacular reception of TES Online?

I've only played Oblivion, Skyrim and Online and Skyrim was easily the best of the 3 for me. Oblivion never had the graphical appeal to make me want to continue playing it after I realized how much I hated the character building / leveling system.

No. Considering TES is Bethesda's bread and butter, I think they intended to make another. And the MMO was developed by a different team (Zenimax) anyway.
