From the two images I'll tell you right now the bottom one is easily done on the 360, the top one might be PC though.

Game consoles arn't that weak, in fact most of them never have a dev that pushes it to the limit, like the gamecube, not one developer ever pushed it to its limits. Yeah PC's have better looks, but thats also accounting for 200 dollar + drivers

You could be right there but now why is it that the Dev's don't push the game consoles to their limits? Is it due to the money aspect of things?

Ok folks were at 150 pages and counting here. Think we can break 200 pages before the release of Skyrim in just under two months?

Its pretty much as Druss said, remember the next console isn't just a number, its like a whole new OS for a dev. So it takes time to learn it fully and well by the time someone does, gee the next console is here. PCs have a longer shelf life than most consoles (Marketing wise I mean), its the hardware add ons that change in them mostly. Its like from what I heard Twilight Princess on the GC for example played with no problems at all inspite of being a port from a next gen system.

Though I think money and "playing it safe" are factors as well, I mean after all Half-life two played on the Original X-box with no trouble.

Well now not being a console game player will have to admit that I didn't realize that they were changing them that quickly. And to think that there was a point when computer wen't that way. But my I7 is still top of the line chip.<G>

Yeah the norm on consoles is 5 years or so, though Sony and Microsoft seem content to wait at least 3 more years maybe. Nintendo is sticking to the 5 years, but nintendo was behind Sony and microsoft and right now the WII U looks to be JUST reaching those two, so they are taking it easy. Honestly I'm happy to see the years streaching from 5 to 8, saves me some money,  though the PC market in terms of new tech might be heading for a slow down. Though will be nice to finally see a Console maybe reaching its hardwares max ability.

Where as PC's untill here lately would stick around with an OS a hell of along time...I mean I had my 95 at least 10 years or better. And even now lots of people still use XP. Though in fairness we only have Windows 7 as Vista was crap.

Other OS's though changed hardly at all minus updates and such, namely your third party ones.

Good thing that their waiting up to 8 years to update the consoles after all them things aren't cheap. I figure no my computer is an expensive enough play toy to keep up with. I can't understand some of these folks that have to have the latest and greatest thing the minute it hits the street. Never did make any sense to me. I don't own one of them tablets either. I do own an Ipod and will have to admit that I love that thing.

Well now someone that remember the Windows 95 and actually used it as well. I used Win 95 and I think the next upgrade for which I did was 98. Ddn't do Vista or me as both of them were crap. But I was over due to build a new system as the one I had at the time was slow. Lets put it this way when nail can cross the sidewalk quicker than my computer would load you know its time for an upgarde. Now I'll go you one better did you use DOS?

Lol actully yes. In elementry school we had old Apple Dos Machines with those retarded ass green screens and played Organ trail lol.

Blah materialism and collectors could summon it up. And I really think thats the only reason companies put out that new stuff so often, rather than rarely with a major advancement. But yeah as you said cross the board its getting pricey, lol at current rates maybe it will turn into a "Gentlemans hobby"

Also yeah I got rid of my 95 for a 2000, when it crashed.

Such... interesting topics in this thread.

Anyway,

StaintJiub Staint Jiub
@DCDeacon Hey Pete I was read the convo from you & Angelic_Becky and I am confused. To clarify: You can marry every race but not every body?

@StaintJiub most races, not all. you can't marry everyone.

I wonder what race we can't marry. Maybe a non-playable race, like the giants?

The first thing I'll try to do is join the Dark Brotherhood when I get the game. I plan to be an archer like character and that faction will fit that planned playstyle perfectly. I wonder if I'll get a horse like Shadowmere (I think that's what the horse is called in Oblivion) when I rise through the ranks?

I found the horse the most disappoiting reward of them all. Oh, Sufferthron, how I loved you.

At least it was fast. I was mad that it ended up mysteriously dead in one of my playthroughs like 30 minutes after I got it.

KenKen- Well now will have to admit that I didn't start learning anything about computers til I was out of the service. You see that was about the time the 8086's came out and they weren't cheap at all. By the time Windows came around I had learned to build them and today I still build and repair my own.

Jreezy- I'll have to agree with you as my current PC is a marksman for the most part that I'm running now. He wears Ebony armor and even has an ebony bow to match. If I knew how others did the game videos and pics from thier games I'd do the same and post a pic of my pc for you.

I enjoyed the DB quests and I'm currently working on the thieves guild quests right now. Just finished the 2nd of the Dark Fox's quest and now I was sent after some boots. This is my first play through of the game. As for the horse don't know how you managed to kill off a non killable horse.<LOL>

Dhiro- I'll agree with you about both the topics and the horse. The horse was one reward for which I didn't care for. You couldn't do nothing while you were on the horse and it was to hard to manipulate. No the horse is back where I originally got it from.<G>

You can't kill it?! It has been a while since I got through the Dark Brotherhood quests. Maybe I just lost it and never found where I left it the last time. Oh well.

Well now guess you didn't think to go back to where you originally first got him from? After all if you would have you would have found him/her there.Image IPB I know I went there a couple of times and Shadowmere is still there.

Will have to admit that I did get a few laughs from the posting even though it was a bunch of bs. Done for more of the humor aspect than any true information.  Obviously they don't like Bethesda or Bethesda games which is very apparent in the posting.

Thats the last time I go to that rpgcodex place, they seem really bitter about everything.

It did lead me to a new preview though which sounded pretty awesome...

I couldn't agree with you more in regards to rpgcodex after all I'm currently playing Oblivion for the first time and I rather enjoy it. Maybe there writers are into them shooters where you don't have to do much thinking in them games. But if you noticed they had nothing positive to say about Skyrim or Bethesda in general. Wonder who from Bethesda pissed in their Rice Krispies. Image IPBImage IPB

BTW thanks for the review for which you posted. You know it's just making me want it more and more and we still have just under 2 months before we can get our hands on the game.

I'm going to grab Fallout 3 GOTY this weekend, that should last me till Skyrim is out.
If not then my brother can lend me Dead Island once he's done with it. ;)

I'm still not sure what or how I want to play Skyrim though. A stealthy archer seems most appealing to me I think, and the new Khajiit look is great, but then again I'd also like to be an Orc with a huge axe. :pinched:

One of my worries with Skyrim is that I'm afraid that it is possible to create an all-powerful character. I think that rather than being the master of magic, melee and ranged combat, you should always suck at something to be the best in something else.

Does anyone have any idea whether it's like Fallout 3 where you can max out everything, or is character building actually important?

Dunstan- More and likely I'll play as a stealthy archer maybe a Dunmar again or might try a Kahjiit. Will check out the pluses and minuses of all the character races when I get the game installed on the puter.

Warheadz- I was thinking the same as you in this regards. I hope that it's not the case though of an all powerful character. That to me would take some of the fun out of the game.

Well, the "cap" is 50. I'm assuming that at every new level you will gain a perk. Assuming that every tree has 10 perks, you couldn't even master all the magic trees.

If I'm right, you can probably be a jack-of-all-trades: okay in everything, master of nothing. This would the make the game much harder, I guess.

Of course, it's pure speculation.

Actually there is no hard cap imposed by game mechanics, it just takes longer and longer to level up until you get to a point where it's no longer possible because your skills are almost maxed out and there is not enough XP from skill increases available to increase your character level any further.

That point will be somewhere around level 70-80, probably depending on a few factors such as the order in which you leveled your skills, whether you have used items that affect XP and whether you have been in jail, etc.

There are 280 perks, so even if you manage to reach the theoretical maximum level (70 - 80), you certainly won't be able to learn all of them.

It's hard to judge the pacing until we actually play the game. For all we know, we might be playing for hundreds of hours and barely reach level 20. Or we could find that the pacing is too fast and we need to use a mod to slow down the level progression.

Since the world is designed for level 1-50 characters, once you get above level 50, in most areas and dungeons, the combat will probably not be challenging enough. Accordingly, I'm hoping I'll be able to play for 300-400 hours without passing level 50.

Oh, I understand, sorry :o

There was a terrible rumor going around that for some reason you would stop getting perks at level 50, however later it was confirmed that perks do not stop at 50. I thought that's what you were referring to.

Oregon trail though I think I did call it the Organ trail myself however given all of my people always died one after the other.

And Red, yeah I know some people who do that for a hobby, I don't much care for it myself, though I love gunsmithing and tinkering with mechanical objects, I like to see how things work, take em apart, put em back together again.
