No they can't.

In my opinion I think Obama is actually white. See they can be wrong.

That isn't an opinion though, it's a statement of fact. Facts can be wrong. Opinions can't be wrong, just stupid.

The question was based off of personal opinion, how is it wrong?

Opinions can be wrong.

But in this instance? Doubtful.

I didn't really want to get this far off topic but I found role playing Hawke better than role playing the warden therefore the opinion that DA2 offers minimal role playing is wrong. Maybe he found it poor but he was couching it in factual terms, the fact is for those of us who got immersed in the game it is just as much of an rpg as DAO.

That depends on individual deffinitions of "roleplaying." Alot of people who play Final Fantasy games consider them roleplaying games, others consider them interactive movies. Immersion differs from person to person, and the extent of immersion too depends on personal imagination and the level of sensory feed from the game itself. I don't need my main characters in games to talk, especially when it limits so many customization options in a video game which limits my overall enjoyment and variety of playstyles.

I'm thanking the spirits Skyrim has a silent protatonist and all the racial options that comes with a silent protagonist. Sure it's a sandbox game, but that allows me to play nearly whatever character I can dream up in this setting and that makes me happy. I don't need yet another interactive fantasy movie where I am watching the studio's character speak lines in tones my characters would never have.

Can we please stop the "LOL GUYS LOOK AT THIS PERSON SAYING HOW DA II SUCKS THAT'S SO FUNNY TODD IS SURELY AMAZING FOR NOT BASHING THE GAME SENSELESS" and the "OPINION IS WRONG. NO OPINION CAN'T BE WRONG. OPINION IS FACT. PONIES."? We -are- in the Skyrim thread, after all.

Yes, I am well aware that I am overreacting.

Yeah I get what you're saying. His view of DA2 not being in rpg is definitely subjective. On top of that there's no clear definition as to what constitutes an RPG anyway.

That still doesn't make an opinion wrong.

You guy should watch it .. The second question was funny

Haha! He wanted to avoid saying Skyrim is more of an RPG then DA2.

I don't  see that, he was just avoiding the question about DA2 altogether except to say that Skyrim is as much of an rpg as Oblivion. The question was wrong anyway.

The question was based off of personal opinion, how is it wrong?

I think he meant "wrong" as in "that was so wrong to ask him that" in the sense that it was a loaded question. No matter how he answers that, the result would make Todd Howard look bad.

By asking "will it be as bad as DA2" the question is already implying that DA2 is a terrible game. Todd doesn't seem like the type of person who would participate in a public panel like this and waste time putting down games made by other devs.

I wouldn't say  the question was wrong.  It was, however,  a  Loaded question.  And to Todd's credit,  he recognized it as such immedietly, and  then chose to answer it, as you say,  in the context of Oblivion vs. Skyrim,   (which, personally, is more important to me), instead of Skyrim vs. DA2.  That was classy of him, IMO.  And Savvy.  He was placed in a no-win situation and still managed to pull a win out of it.

No your not I'm in full agreement, this **** is old, and from a few CRPGers that hold a grude more openly than I do. And it gets old pretty damn fast.

"Lol look another person that not like Dragon Age 2, We is Smart and has Taste lulz lulz!"

And yeah I thought this was the Skyrim, and not bash DA:2 thread.

Yes, so anyways on that score, I never played the game this was based one, one thing I wonder is, will the lanscapes differ at all, or are we just looking at mountains and hills here? Any plains lands, etc?

The second question was f**king great. And Todd's answer to it was even better. Kudos to him.

Agreed!

Interesting - I have been of the opinion that since Oblivion was the starting point for Skyrim's development, people who hated Oblivion are probably not going to enjoy Skyrim as much. Todd's response seems to confirm this.

I think he means that skyrim wont change your opinion of oblivion, however it doesn't mean that you wont enjoy skyrim.

They have spoken of a great tundra somewhere. In the demos you can see a bit of it when you see the mammoths and gigants strolling by. I think there will be some forests too. At least according to the screenshots. That's all I can think of right now. I personally am looking forward to the tundra ant the throat of the world.
The first thing I will do in skyrim is to climb up the top of the 7000 stairs and enjoy the wiew :D

The videos clearly show everything from forests to grasslands to snowy mountains. The environment is a lot like Oblivion in depending where you go, the landscape changes. However, it looks far more beautiful than it did in Oblivion.

I think we've only seen daylight footage so far. I hope night/evening/morning etc look just as good. And I hope time goes by a little slower than in Oblivion, that would help immersion-wise. I guess the reason they do that is to make the world feel bigger, if you can spend time in every city in a single real-time day, then it all gets quite garden-y.

Elamor- Now where did you come across the 7000 steps in Skyrim from? I think that I would like to climb them as well but I think that might take a while to accomplish.

"As players engage in melee-style combat, some sequences are highlighted by slow-motion effects, particularly for decapitations. Large blood-splatter effects also occur during combat, and some environments are stained with blood or body parts (e.g., heads impaled on spikes).

The above was a portion copied word for word from the posting. That talk about the above like it's a bad thing? It could be worse. After all you see things like this on allot of t.v. shows during prime time.

The ESRB is probably full of half of these parents who blame video games for their kids problems.
