People say many things. Todd Howard and Pete Hines say that Skyrim will be released in 11-11-11. I'll take their words over some nameless rumor.

They could not give up such an awe-some relase date!

I fully agree I'll take Todd Howard and Pete Hines word over anyone elses. After all they've got the release of Skyrim on 11-11-11 pretty much written in stone and it sounds as solid as it's going to get.

KenKen I would have to agree with you. As for me like many others that are probably out there I don't play the FPS or the ones for which you play online with others for lots of reasons which some may or may not agree with me on but thats life.<G> Only game for which I'm waiting for is Skyrim<G>

Because it was only $2.99, I've decided to give more than pics, but NEW HD GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE.
(wait until 0:50 seconds for the new footage to start.)

For more stuff, I shall require a Darth Vader cake. ^_^

The Argonians get better and better. They have claws and spikes!

I couldn't agree with you more on the release date for the game. I also contacted the local Gamestop where I buy my games and hve this one pre-ordered and they said Skyrim WILL be released on 11/11/11 and they will be having a Midnight release of the game. So I will be there just before midnight on the 10th waiting to pick up my game.Image IPBImage IPBImage IPB

I thought of purchasing through Steam the only thing is what happens if the game should get corrupted due to something happening to the download or installing a mod for which the gmae don't agree with and you have to do a re-install of the game? Do you have to re-purchase and download the game again? Or can you just re-download and install it?

You can just re-download. The retail box will require Steam anyways.

I've never even been to Steams website only reason for which I know about it is from gamers that talk about it. So are you saying that I've got to sign up for their web site before I can install and start playing the game?!

you can also back up the game files to external USB drive so you don't have to download it in the future

AFAIK, when you install the Skyrim retail disc on your computer, the disc already comes with the Steam client program and you should be able to sign up for Steam when you install the game.

There are occasionally some pretty amazing sales deals on Steam, so it's worth checking out anyways IMO. For example, recently they were giving away the game Portal for free. (I think that deal has expired) Often you can find games for $5 or $10.

Man Skyrim is making me want to play the Elder scrolls all over again.

I booted up Morrowind and just sat back for those few minutes and just let the nostalgia take me.
So many old memories from playing came back but one just sat with me longer than any other:

Walking out of Red Mountain after killing Dagoth Ur and seeing the sun setting and the stars. Never has a moment in gaming made me feel so proud and overwhelmed with joy.

I am so ready for Skyrim now....

So than it won't be no different than Oblivion just install the game roll  up your character and go have fun right? I can live with that there.<LOL> Might have to check out steam. I take it that the link is www.steam.com?

I think you took the name Steam a little too literally, but yeah check ErichHartmanns link. There should be a link to download the client at the top right corner of the screen.

I wasn't sure if this was posted yet, but I thought that our fellow female ES fans would appreciate the "default" female Dovahkiin - http://i.imgur.com/OHef0.jpg

Is that an official wallpaper? I'd like that pic in another resolution.

I know. I thought I would save a dollar and go for free two week shipping, but I'm so hyped that I just switched my Amazon order to release day shipping for an extra dollar. I feel dumb for turning down free shipping, but getting Skyrim soon is worth it.

(Yes, I am very cheap lol)

Indeed.  Why not just go to the store and buy it on the day it comes out?   That way you get it on day 1 AND you don't have to pay for shipping...

I got a mint deal. At EB games in my area, you could go in, trade in 2 games for the console you want Skyrim for, and then preorder Skyrim for 10 bucks.
