BTW: I was mostly an archer in that game. I loved enchanting my arrows snd just going crazy. I have a preference to speed and precision in these kinds of games. I am more of a rogue type player I guess. That may be why I didnt like it that much. That being said It does look like they made it a lot better for Skyrim. Todd Howard even said they put a lot more work into the third person perspective on this game.

I had a lot of fun playing an archer as well. My husband and I always laughed at how my archer looked, because it always seemed like she was trying to show people her bow - not what it could do, but how pretty it was. To this day, it's still a silly long-standing joke between us ("have you seen my bow?") Yes, I am a big dork.

I thought the graphics were great, but by the nines, the inventory system was/is terrible. I tried to pick up Oblivion again a few months ago, in preparation for Skyrim, and I just couldn't do it, and the inventory headaches were why. The endless S-L-O-W scrolling through a massive list of ingredients was too much. But alas, I digress. I'm looking forward to the new menu system in Skyrim.

I hear ya! Theri is just something fun about shooting an enchanted arrow that explodes and sends everybody flying lol. I think what added to it was a was master thief so I loved just sneaking around and then when they werent expecting it... BAM!!! Its a great feeling lol. The inventory was a serious hassel so it's a good thing they fixed it. Oh and everybody has a nerd factor. Something they just go nuts over. Its cool nerds are in now havent you heard. Whats funny is my cousin and I tried to teach his fiance how to play, Everytime she would shoot an hour and miss or get caught sneaking she would freak and run her character in circle's haha. We had to turn the difficulty all the way down so she would stop dying. Good Times!Image IPB

My favorite thing in the world to do in Oblivion with most of my stealth characters was to take my bow, knock an enchanted exploding arrow while crouched down right behind the enemy, and then let loose and watch them literally fly 50-60 feet in the air (sometimes higher lol) strait up in the air.  It worked best when you hit them in the feet because then, the force of the explosion would send them strait up B)

See, this is the kind of moment that a game like Oblivion gets you.

I had some pretty cool spells, I used to enjoy taking my super-evil mage into the big city with them and killing pretty much everyone with waves of my char's hand.

There was lots of scope for comedy death in the spell creation system - especially paralysis and control.

Haha I pretty much played that game to completely massacre everyone.  Just run into Towns or Cities and start killing everyone. Get a whole bunch of guards after you and blow the crap out of em. Oh yea that was the shiz. Peopel should have been more afraid of me then the daedra. If it was my choice their probably wouldnt be anyone left in all of Tamrial lol. Me and my cousin use to have contests to see who could kill everyone in the city faster. Soometimes I miss those days!

You know what else? I just thought of this but I hope they bring Vampirism back. And Lycanthropy as well, ala Bloodmoon. I daresay, I liked running around as a Werewolf even more than as a Vampire :)

Which is why it's back, and not, say, 'introduced as a new feature'

Saying "Its back" can be taken as it was taken out, how can something be back, when it was never gone?

I'm not here to explain context to you when the discussion we're having is right here on this very page, and in plain text for everyone to see.

Really? We're going to argue about what the word back means? :o

That was the only thing I really hated about it.  Vampires (according to lore) are supposed to be hauntingly beautiful.  So if anything, it should "improve" your character's physical appearance

Indeed, especially when you read the lore that states how Vampires came into existence.   Not a nice story that one

This time they will actually stay dead.

Only children and a small number of NPCs related to the main quest are essential (invincible).

Ahh yes, children getting the FO "Invincibility" perk.  Better not add a "Mr Sandman" type perk lest there will be an instant leveling exploit lol.

I get most of my lore from the book of Nod.  And yea, not a very nice story at all lol.:wizard:

There is no XP from killing things, you only receive XP from raising your skill points.

Histskin? So Argonians are Skyrim's trolls then? And if only there was a "Mr Sandman" perk. I would love to go full-out Freddy Krueger just like in Fallout 3 :D

It will win many GOTY awards, and rightfully so I think.
