Oh whoopie, another WRPG with...guess what..DRAGONS.

Honestly, Western developers need to start milking some other mythical creature. I mean, seriously, big flying lizards that can oooh breathe FIRE :o are the height of your imaginations? If it's not dragons, it's goat demons.

That said, Skyrim looks awesome. Can't wait!

P.S. How do we set the next Dragon Age apart from this then? or the next Dungeons & Dragons?? I'm so confuzzled! It's a good thing they dont get released all at once.

I must admit to finding dragons as a concept a complete turn-off; fortunately that hasn't been enough to kill my interest in Dragon Age and Ego Draconis which I'd rate amongst my favourite games, but the current dragon obsession is getting a little wearing.

The new video is interesting.  I rather like the way that much of the scenery continues the general vibe of how the countryside around Bruma feels, but also that it's not just monolithic wall-to-wall snow either.  I also rather liked the reprise of music from both Morrowind and Oblivion. :)

I found the actual gameplay footage to be the highlight of the video. The animations looked a lot better than previous games.

People don't like dragons?

Big epic mythical creatures that are just awesome and we're gonna get too kill them and you're gonna complain about that?

Jeez next your gonna complain that the game is too fun.

Sharks that can walk on land with laser beams attached to their heads would be just as epic.

and more original.

Cautiously optimistic. The animations and graphics look very good but I need more convincing that Bethesda has overcome most of the problems that plagued Oblivion.

They're relics of old fantasy. Tired and overused enemies, often depicted without any dimension other than to kill for the bloodthirsty nerd.

But, you can't remove them from Elder Scrolls either. It's like harkening back to its Dungeons and Dragons campaign origins. You can't remove that either. Even Morrowind couldn't eliminate that.

Would you be able to take the game seriously? I sure wouldn't be able to.

For what it's worth I played Oblivion for about 200 hours and enjoyed pretty much every bit of it. I played DAO for 80 hours tops, and that was with multiple playthroughs that got boring towards the end because I already knew the story.

Open world games made by AAA developers like Bethesda is always more appealing to me than linear games like Dragon Effect, with that said I'm still very hyped about Dragon Age 2, but at this point Bioware and Bethesda can't be compared, they're different tiers of developers now.

No less seriously than a game with giant lizards (creatures more commonly seen in the real world than sharks) with bat wings and the ability to shoot fire from their mouths.

It really is a great year for video gaming. The Witcher 2 & Risen 2 are going to have interesting worlds to explore as well.

They Butchered the Morrowind Music again! they did it in oblivion but this is worse!! god damn I hate the music in that trailer so much

I didn't particularly like that trailer other then the fact that someone who sounds like Max von Sydow.. probably is him in fact was doing the voice

It's not the Morrowind theme, it's the Elder Scrolls theme. Each game has a different iteration of it. Is that so difficult to understand?

They all fit their respective games, too. Morrowind's was low-key and geared up towards a crescendo. Oblivion's was bombastic right from the start, in a way that got somewhat tedious after a while. Skyrim's is raw, powerful and speaks of blood and snow.

Looks amazing. What a great year for western RPGs (DA2, Witcher 2, Deus Ex: HR, Skyrim, ME3). It's going to make 2012-2013 unbearable though :( Hopefully each game will have expansions/sizable DLC.

Yeah.  They're boring.  They're so overused and one-dimensional that a game would be more exciting if it advertised itself as having huge tracts of land.
