One of them may buy all your loot if you ask it nicely.

I am sensing some minor trolling.

Velvet Remedy would not approve.

Low level creatures often found inhabiting bodies of water or in caves. Killing them yields crab meat, which is used as alchemical ingredients in potion-making.

The most interesting mudcrabs are in Morrowind, namely the talking Mudcrab Merchant and the massive Skar.

No, I'm serious. There was a Mudcrab in Morrowind that would buy upto 10,000 golds worth of stuff off you.  ^_^

...Who knows, this time the mystery merchant could be a Gwar.

It'll always be the best, even with the wonky combat and dated graphics.

Vamps tend to live in clans (they keep it in the family so to speak) who are often at odds with each other. I can't remember how the clan stuff worked in Oblivion, but in Morrowind your choice of family was quite important and offered all sorts of different positivies and negatives - clan x was better to join as a Mage for example, whilst clan y is more combat-y.  Much like most other factions really, just less obvious prior to joining.

Vampirism itself has probably changed a fair bit for Skyrim, but it comes with the usual flavour: weak in sunlight, need to feed to keep your strength up, increased stealthy abilities etc. In Oblivion there were stages of Vampirism, you got stronger in some areas but weaker in others and such.

There has traditionally only ever been ONE cure to vampirism present in the games. That single questline is your only out if you change your mind, should you botch it your stuck. I wouldn't be surprised if that returned.

How exactly do you go about becoming one? Can you avoid it altogether?

A vampire bites you and... yeah. You can not sleep forever or just buy a potion. A spell also works, I think?

Vampires and Werewolves can infect you through battle.

You get bitten. There are vamps scattered throughout the world, can be random encounters or quest related. Not sure if it'll have more finesse this time but it used to work off them melee attacking you (can't remember if that got changed in Oblivion or not), and you had a chance of contracting the Vampire disease which I can't spell offhand. It's fairly easily cured even at that point IIRC - just a cure disease spell or potion - but if you then sleep whilst afflicted you will dream and wake up as a vamp.

It can thus be easily avoided. Unless they have changed it.

You contract a disease called Porphyric Hemophilia when directly fighting a vampire. It penalizes you with something as minor as -5 fatigue. But, if you don't treat it with Cure Disease spell or potion, overtime you can turn into a vampire.

In Oblivion however, you also have an option to become a vampire through the Dark Brotherhood faction without fighting a vampire.

KenKenpachi's link to the UESP is extremely useful.

Yeah, screw vampires.

Okaaay, companions. Describe em. How do you get companions, are they useful, what can they do, etc etc.

There are vampires in the game and you can become a vampires and it effects your stats....and there is no cure (some enchanted items help with negative effects....some effects are positive, though), so be wary if coming across a vampire.

I believe there is a cure, in the play through in PCgamer (link posted a few pages back), the player was infected with vampirism but managed to find some wandering priests who cured him.
