Gamestop actually has a thing where if you preorder and pay off one of six different games (includes Skyrim and AC, that's all I remember), you get double "points." Which is nice cause I was hoping to use the points to help pay for ME3 N7.

I'm just glad that with BF3, as long as you preorder(which I did and completely paid off) you get the LE for no extra charge. Extra in game items FTW.
Wish Skyrim did the same, but ah well. Take it when you can get it.

Wonder if something like that would be in Skyrim.

You need an enchanted item or breathing underwater potion/spell or you die...unless you are Argonian.
Argonians now control Morrowind, BTW. They are ripping up and burning trees and replacing them with nice clear ponds as we speak....

Can you get them at any time, or only after a certain point?
Are they tied to level, or can you use them as long as you have them?

They are not tied to level, you usually loot them. At least in Oblivion some armors start appearing after you reach a certain level... I don't know about Skyrim. Basically, you can loot anything a enemy is wearing. If he's wearing full plate armor you can loot it, from the boots to the helmet.

Some loot is scaled according to the level of the dungeon where you find it and other loot is unique.
If you enter a level 20-25 dungeon at character level 5, the dungeon will be locked at level 20 and the scaled loot will be appropriate for level 20 character, so it should seem quite powerful if you manage to survive.
There are also a number of unique items that do not scale.

Not sure what you mean by system, but there is a time scale calendar that tracks days, nights, days of the week, etc.
In some areas you can see the Aurora Borealis at night.

I realize now that that was a stupid question since I remember reading about vamps losing life in the day time and being better at night.
Okay, next question-
Is there a counter somewhere that tells you how long your playthrough is?

It will be a Steamworks game, so you can check your Steam library "hours played"

...have you played Oblivion, prince? Cause these last three questions (including the counter) have all been in Oblivion and I assume they'll be in Skyrim too.

I made it clear in my opening post in this thread that this will be my first TES game. Maybe you missed it, which is no problem, since it was several pages ago.

Sorry, I'm lazy.
When you loaded saves on Oblivion itsaid how ling you'd played, so I imagine it will be there, in some form or another, in Skyrim.

I would just love to get a collector's addition, because I have so few of those, and it kinda says something about your love of the game/franchise, but I guess I'll pass on this one.

Well now are you sure about the double points with Skyrim if you pre-order and pay it off you get double pts? I'm going to have to check this out because I did exactly that,. I"ve already pre-ordered and paid for the game. All I've got to do is pick the game up.<G> I did not get the CE didn't think it was worth all that money for which they wanted for it.
For those that were talking about My Little pony<ies> I'll have to admit that is one for which don't interest me. Of course 1/2 the stuff on t.v these days doesn't interest me.
LPPrince- you asked about avoiding becoming a vampire. Thats easy enough to do. I'm new to the ES series and have played through a good portion of Oblivion and never once became a vampire. As for the faction quests like thieves and Dark Brotherhood they can be very profitable in both useful items and gold. As for a horse tried using one in Oblivion and just didn't care for it at all. Could only use kb keys and couldn't attack while atop the horse. Had to dismount fight the baddie and than remount the horse.

Next question-
Not important in the slightest, but quite curious. How was romance dealt with in previous games? I know we can get married in Skyrim, but I'm wondering if past games had any romantic involvement between characters(flirting, flings, dates, sex, etc etc).
Besides that and specifically focusing back on Skyrim itself, how is death handled? How long is the time of death to a reload/respawn, do you lose anything due to dying(exp for example)?

Now being new to the Es series myself as for romance or sex it's so far been non existent. Skyrim I heard we will be able to marry but not sure of the full paticulars on that there. I know in DA you can have romanceable interests as I've played both DA 1&2.
As for death/dying just reload your last saved game and play as usual. Nothing is lost like stats, gold etc when this happens.

How does stealth work in the game? What maintains stealth and what gives you away?
Light? Sound? Movement? Combination of them all?

So if I were to say, pull out a bow, sneak to a dark area, aim, pull back the string and fire, I'd be good to go?
Cause that would be epic.
