I had to wait three months after the release to get my signature edition of Dragon Age II. At least it was worth it.

@RPGamer13

Right now, no deatils on same-sex. I'm assuming it'll be like Fable and not treated like a big deal. But I'm not expecting any complex romance system or anything.

Well now will have to admit that you're one of the few that thought DA2 was worth it. As for me if I knew it was going to be as bad as it was I wouldn't even bought DA2. DAO was much better. Heck not even sure if they've put out any DLCs for DA2 have they? The game was buggy righ from the begining; only a small handful of areas for which were regularly recycled throughout the game. And all the in game stuff for which we got for pre-ordering ended up being given to everyone just to keep them happy.

I'm going to see which city is my favorite before I choose a permanent residence to set up shop. I also hope to find something that is towards the center of the map. I go farming and selling for loot early and often...and throughout...and I try to get one of every weapon and item. I neatly categorize non-inventory loot into different areas of the house as appropriate (weapons chest, armor chest, wardrobe, scroll desk, potion cabinet, ring drawer, etc.). I'm hoping there is an interface that'll let you store items on shelves neatly for display and in display cases easily and efficiently. :)

I'll have to wait and see what city feels like home to me.

Does anyone else organize their loot in their houses?

So your going to treat this game like the Sims?

Hahaha, you larpers actually used the houses ?

That's it?

3 minute interview with Todd Howard. And now they've moved on to friggin Batman.

And no new footage at all. The only thing resembling  a  "reveal" is:   there are 6 types of dragons,  and some have names.

A little disappointing, but we did see some nice new city shots and a dude magicifying a chicken.

Many people liked Dragon Age II, they simply don't feel the need to make people know it every few seconds, like some other people do. BioWare did released the DLCs and many people liked them best than the main game.

And frankly darling, if bugs annoy you so much then I have no idea why you'd want to play a Bethesda game.

@On-topic:

/Summondragon will be my default shout for everything, even mudcrabs.

Cheers.

Does anyone else feel that dragon shouts look a tad over powered in that video? They do look very very interesting, they even appear to have non-combat uses. I hope that ice shout can be used to freeze trap blades and things.

Just been to gamestop to pick up Batman and I asked about a midnight release. He said it depends on pre-orders which are really starting to pick up now. The gamestop here is giving away the two recent Greg Keyes novels with all pre-orders aswell as the cloth map. Not sure if thats UK wide, not that there are many gamestops in the UK.

They do look overpowered. I've read somewhere in the Skyrim's forums that the cooldown for a shout is 5 real world minutes, and that's not much. Maybe they'll make the three words really hard to find? Or maybe the shout power scales with the player's level? Who knows.

Dhiro- It wasn't so much the bugs that annoyed me in DA2 but the lack of a sory line and the continauly reused areas all through out the game which got annoying. Besides who said anything about bugs?

Naughty- Thanks for sharing the link I am so looking forward to Skyrim Especially with the two new shouts and the fact that you can get a dragon ally. Skyrim is my game of the year from the looks of it. I agree the chicken getting resurected was funny,

See?

But enough of this. It's the Skyrim thread, we have a entire forum dedicated to Dragon Age II.

I can't wait to use dragon shouts in cities/towns. Guards will be totally clueless against this much power in our hands. :D

Who cares if the shouts are overpowered, what matters is they are fun. Fun > OP complaints.

They look "epic" and "earth shaking", as I suppose they should.  But it's impossible to tell if they're overpowered, since that's a question of game balance, and we've yet to play the game to determine whether they are.

We do know one thing though:  The dragons you have to fight will be using these same shouts against you. So at least such power has to be earned the hard way.

And the dragons don't seem to have the same cooldown restrictions.

I fully agree with you and I for one will be looking forward to not only learning and using the shouts but taking on the dragons as well as for a few giants.Image IPB

It's hard for me to tell if its overpowered or not. It depends on how difficulty ends up being and the recharge time on those particular shouts. Some of the Greater Powers in Oblivion had a recharge time of one in-game day...summoning in a dragon once a day would be more balanced. It's probably a very high level shout as well.

It'll be interesting to see how it works out. I don't want it to be easy, but feeling powerful at a very high level is very welcomed for me.

A dragon-summoning Dragon shout was one of the first shouts confirmed, I'm pretty sure.

It was, but the footage made it seem even better. Plus it's quest related and it's a named dragon!:wizard:
