I can't wait to get the wind shout, increased attack speed is going to be awesome, especially using fists and other two handed weapons.
Katana better be back and it'd be cool if there's a samurai-esque armor.

I disagree. I feel dissapointed, like that was it ? If i can blast through a supposedly tough encounter too easily. Balance is important.RPGamer13 wrote...
If you're worried about Overpoweredness, I'm not because I actually love that stuff. There's nothing more fun than getting through a normally tough battle barely scathed.

The only time I have a problem with enemies dying too quick is: because someone else stole my kill and I lose XP or if I want to pull off some cool combo and the enemy doesn't have enough health.

What's with the chickens in Skyrim? Did a Lionhead developer do some external consulting?
In an interview from a few months ago, Todd mentioned some QA testers discovered that NPC necromancers were routinely resurrecting chickens in order to continue harvesting their eggs.
They also found that chickens were reporting crimes to guards.
He mentioned that they fixed the glitch that allowed chickens to report crimes, but it seems they found this chicken business to be funny and included a shot of a chicken being resurrected in the footage they gave to GTTV.

If there is no more need to accumulate wealth or if combat is no longer extremely challenging (at least on the highest difficulty setting), I get bored.

Personally, if I ever reach a point in an RPG where I'm either no longer dying frequently or so ridiculously wealthy that I can easily afford to purchase anything in the game, that is the point where it's time for me to retire that character and stop playing (or start a new character).

Pretty much this.
If I no longer feel like I have to level up to progress then the game becomes a bit pointless to me. Part of the fun of exploration is the fear that I'm going to run into something I can't handle and have to be careful. Thats where Fable fell down for me, well one of the areas. It just didn't feel like a game, there was no challenge at all. It was just mindless.

Exactly, that's why Oblivions leveling system of 'the world leveling up with you' was so horrible, it killed the game and made it's best aspect, the exploration, not even fun.Druss99 wrote...

A high school teacher was brought a letter by a young girl just the other day from her father. Within said letter (that was sealed with wax) was an explaination as to why his daughter would not be in school on November 11th, and possibly the weeks after…

I heard about the chickens reporting crimes to guards, but I didn't hear about how Necromancers were continuously resurrecting chickens for their eggs. That kind of shows how smart the AI is...the chicken reporting crimes was a glitch but Necromancers resurrecting chickens for eggs is just plain smart. Hopefully they left it in at a part where there are caged chickens they continuously kill and reanimate in one of their dungeon hideouts.
The chicken cop thing is hilarious. Just image seeing a chicken going up to a guard and clucking....a minute later: "Stop right there, criminal scum!" Hilarious!
I would die of laughter if a dragon swoops into town sometime and a terrified chicken bails and runs, simultaneously popping out an egg from the fear. I would lmao and howl and wouldn't be able to breathe.
We knew dragons had names....Alduin of course was known right from the get-go, but a dragon companion with a name is pretty neat. I can almost guarantee the recharge is one in game day or even longer.
I know its kind of old now, but I thought Bethesda did an excellent job in finding balance with the Fat Man. It's the thing you save as a last resort, an end all be all but you don't get to use it too often at all. At least for me....mini nukes are very rare for me and I'm an obsessive looter and explorer. I'm sure they will get it right with our dragon friend.
I wonder how we gain the dragons loyalty. I also wonder...and hope its the case...that having it come in and as a loyal aid is the result of a choice where other options include killing it or doing nothing and letting it die.

^yeah. Heard about that. Aside from the brilliantly creative nature of the whole thing (a letter on aged paper sealed in wax? lol), And that if it's true, then we're looking at one of the coolest parents ever, I really don't see this as anything unusual. It's no different than when parents pull their kids out of school for vacation (which happened a lot when I was in school).
And in other News.... The Skyrim demo at Quakecon was so awesome, it sent a woman into labor.
Blah given the current state of public education I doubt she's missing much.

Does anyone else feel that dragon shouts look a tad over powered in that video? They do look very very interesting, they even appear to have non-combat uses. I hope that ice shout can be used to freeze trap blades and things.
I think Dragon Shouts were always supposed to be overpowered and the most effective "magic" in game surpassing spells. However the drawback always being a large cooldown period. The Ethereal Shout looked really interesting. Wish I had that on the Shivering Isles when Shaegorath bannished me

I love the look of the sword during the elemental shout part of the video. Certainly looks like a unique blade to me with the style and etches.
I dont care what its stats are, when it looks that good I just want to use it!!!

There is a way to make you feel powerful and keep the challenge in the game. You just have to offer ridiculously tough encounters that only an overpowered character could ever win. I think tthat's a much better way to do it than to just beef up weak enemies to keep up with the player.naughty99 wrote...

If you're taking a beating from a level 50 bandit asking for 2 silver, you won't feel like you've progressed at all. But fighting 2 dragons at once for example might be tough even for the overpowered.

I'm somewhere in the middle of those two views, and have my fun reguardless. Either mowing you down on a mounted weapon, sneaking up and stabing you (like I did Umbra lulz) or just bashing you in the face with as many swings as possible. Either way they all fall.
Though I don't like it being too easy, unless I can have my fun with them, but I don't like too hard either, as well a game goes from being a game IE fun, and turns into a job. I'm not getting paid, and well I work for real cash not E-dick points.

I'm glad you posted that screenshot, Captain...I didn't pick out the design of the sword before. The effects are really good, but the design of that sword is spectacular. Could it be....and this is a wild shot in the dark...a dremora shortsword? Skyrim style? Either way, I'm sure its powerful statistically anyways....it looks rare/semi rare. It might even be a special Daedra quest reward item. Pure speculation, but thanks for posting the screenshot. Fascinating.
