About food in Skyrim.

lol someone played the game, and wrote about just this? wow..

he didn't even bother to cook anything? there are dozens of tasty recipes he could have prepared!

Well, he seems in a hurry and if I'm not mistaken you need to find a cookfire to cook something, like the way you need a alchemical table to make potions and poisons. I hope we can cook at our houses.

Over my dead body! Wait a minute...Is this really worth dying over? Yeah I'd say so, it's Skyrim related.

True enough Naughty. If Skyrim were and Arcade fighter then its the reverse. But its an RPG and those feature should be a corner stone.

Some people I think just don't understand the limits of technology at present.

LOL.  Ppl aren't asking for an 'arcade fighting games combat'   they just expect it to be a little less static and more reactive than the combat we had in Oblivion, especially with all this the new creation engine' talk.  But unfortunately, it looks the exact same (with the addition of SLOW-MO FINISHERS)

Something more engaging like Severance, Might and Magic and Demon/Dark Souls would be nice.  The combat is just boring in Oblivion/Skyrim, even most of the fans would agree that it's one of the weakest parts.   For an action rpg, that's a pretty important gameplay aspect, i would have to say.

Jreezy; I'll have to agree with you so I did a right click on the pick and selected to "set as background" in Windows 7 and it looks so nice on my 47" hd t.v.<G>

Well the initial spoiler reports are that it is more reactive and less static than Obliviion.

I plan to marry the biggest, meanest warrior in all Skyrim and then chain him to the kitchen. Mages need sandwiches too.

If i've never played an Elder Scrolls game before, but like Rpg loot games, would you reccomend this for me? I've heard a lot about this for months, kinda overhyped TBH.

I think basically anyone will like the ES games as long as they don't strictly enjoy shooters or racing games.

I have watched a few of them. Combat animations are hugely improved from Oblivion and although we are not seeing the intense attack moves of Dragon Age 2, combat still looks like a hell of a lot of fun to me.

As for the hit detection, it is exactly what we have already seen since the very first gameplay footage all the way back in January. How could anyone expect it to be any different? They certainly wouldn't have completely overhauled all the first person combat animations between September and October.

Unless an actor is blocking, it doesn't get knocked back by melee blows. There is excellent hit detection if you Fus Ro Dah somebody, however.:wizard:

Am I still talking to the same person who is a fan of isometric turn-based RPGs, or was your account hacked by an imposter who favors graphics over RPG meat and potatoes? :P

I can't wait to go to a heavily populated tavern, stand on the bar table, and just let out a fus ro dah and knock everybody on their ass. Sounds like a good way to become criminal scum.

I would definitely buy the game if I were you. It's a sandbox style game with so much to do that you will likely find something that you will love doing. Hell, I've spent dozens of hours in Oblivion just making book collections!

I'm looking forward to Video Games Awesome. Fraser is going to play this even though he's already decided he wont like it. Watching him troll all the fanboys will be so fun.
I'm going to love this game don't get me wrong but some people just take it too far.

Good. When I read the title I assumed that it was another "Mudcrabz confiirmed1!!1!!1", little did I know it actually did have spoilers in it!

How's New Vegas treating you, Chunky? I'm loving Fallout 3 but I won't get done with everything I want before Skyrim. I just did this super funny and unexpected side quest involving two arch-enemies....the AntAgonizer and the Machinist.

New Vegas is awesome! I'm surprised at how much I'm enjoying it. The NCR missions are very entertaining, and I recently discovered (well, actually kidnapped by :P) the Brotherhood of Steel, who have some sweet gear I want to steal.

I don't think New Vegas is as good as Skyrim will be though. Judging from what I've seen so far, I think Bethesda has made the best RPG to date. I sooooo want November 11 to be here already. I've been planning my Argonian jack-of-all-trades named Noro Fareen for months now.

Nice name you picked out. How many hours are you expecting your first playthrough to take?

Discipline.

The small statement about Alduin and the kalpa isn't a spoiler. That's been known, albeit obscurely. Everything in that thread was.

Yo, is this real?

I haven't enjoyed Jeremy Soule's works since Icewind Dale.
