Anyone know if it's possible to wipe out the population of an entire village?

Why would you want to kill everyone in a village for?

I think it would be fun, an interesting goal for an evil character, or a vampire. Suck them all dry till there's nothing but withered corpses and the sound of wind through the trees.

Nope, if it has children you can't kill everyone.

So we can at least wipe out the majority of a population then.

I don't see why not, unless there are essential NPCs there, and assuming they are immortal.

No, killing ppl in this one has consequences. If you kill someone their family comes after you.

I don't plan on killing random civilians so I don't have to worry about that. BAM.

Has anyone seen a screenshot of the Dark Brotherhood armor? I hope it's just like the one for your avatar on Xbox Live. I love the "ninja" mask and crimson details.

There's an achievement for maxing out infamy or whatever with the law of every major city.

How else are you to get that if not killing people? I guess you could steal things with someone spotting you, but that's no fun.

Yes, Todd mentioned in an interview a few months ago that people are prone to try to do this and it's possible to kill every NPC in the entire game with the exception of children and a few adult NPCs that are important for the main quest.

It is not exactly clear whether companions become immortal when they join your team, or how exactly this works with companions.

Well I guess that if your playing a really chaotic evil person you might want to kill off everyone and any one in a town or city. As for me that just never interested me in going through and killing everyone around just for the sake of killing them. As for vampirisim that just never interested me at all. Guess I'm not all that evil.<G> Besides I don't think that rp'ing the game it means you've got to kill everyone in a town..

Yes but causing serious amounts of trouble doesn't mean killing everyone in town. Besides aren't the achievements just for the console games and not the Pc? If that is the case than us pc users don't have achievements.

PC players have achievements too, they just don't work the same way that they do on consoles.

But yes, I'm on a console. So if there has to be a certain amount of a bounty on my head or whatever, I'll probably have to steal, kill some animals, break some stuff, moon the populace, steal candy from the kiddies, things like that.

Why would you want to kill everyone in a village for?

My god, there's  at least a  thousand great answers to this question.  And most of  them begin with: "because you CAN".    But generally speaking, the reasons  vary  depending on specific motivations:

I is Evil

-Because using some Epic, massively destructive Dragon Shout against a few  generic 'enemies' in some  remote hidden-from-the-world cave seems like a  shameful waste of good power to me.  Especially when you could, instead, use that shout against an entire community, where everyone can watch in awe, before they die..

-Because theoretically,  that which lives, must die... might as well be me who  metes out this process to some random village.  why?  Because I CAN, because the Reaper spares no one, not even people who live in happy little  villages.

-Because people with power never fail to abuse that power.  My characters would certainly hate to be the first. And so I plan on some serious abuse of all my power.

-Because I'm going to roleplay an angry, vengeful  Argonian.  And if  a single individual in a given village makes a single remotely negative comment about my race, I will wipe out that entire village... as a friendly warning to other villages.

I is testing the game

-Because anything can be broken, even radiant quest systems, and I'm going to prove it.   By wiping out an entire village.   Lets see if there's anyone left to advance  that quest that the merchant gave me,  after I slaughter him, his  apprentice, his wife, his mother, his son and neighbors and everyone else he could possibly know.

-If I destroy every village but one, will that one surviving village's economy start booming?

-if I destroy an entire village then move on, will the game's npcs still talk about that village as if it still exists and they still have relatives and friends that live there?

-Because this game advertises the fact that you can  be anything, do anything and go anywhere.  Fine.  I'm sick and tired of being the Protagonist in every game I play.    And so  I've decided  that I'm going to be the antagonist in this game.  I  will compete with this game's dragons for the title of "greatest threat to thre world" .  I will  DO what I want.  And that means being the game's main villian.  Now lets see if the game acknowleges that in any noteworthy fashion.

I wants power

-Personally, I think destroying a village should be a mandatory initiation  quest in order to join any of this game's guilds.

-Personally, I think single handedly destroying a village should make guards in other towns fear you.  I mean, you just destroyed an entire damn village, do guards honestly believe that a prison cell can hold you?   or that  some  pitiful bounty will result in your successful capture?

I wants loot
-I wonder how much treasure and money can be had from  destroying an entire village and  pillaging everything you can from the homes of everyone in that village....

LPPrince- well now I was under the impression that only the consoles had achievements. I guess I stand corrected.

Yrkoon - I had to ask didn't I?<LOL> I'm curious did you kill everyone in a town Oblivion? As for power you can gain that by playing through the game you don't have to destroy whole towns to accomplish this. As for the Septims in Oblivion I've got well over 5million and don't need to buy anything. Not to mention that I've got lots of things for which I could still sell. Would love to know what happens while you doing your tests though.

Just reviewed a pretty good list of all the perk trees here:

helpful for planning your character build.

What perks do you want to get?

Some really good ones IMO:

Sneak: Assassin's Blade
Destruction: Dual Casting, Impact, Deep Freeze
Conjuration: Oblivion Binding, Soul Stealer
Speechcraft: Allure (I think it unlocks dialogue options with opposite sex)
Pickpocket: Perfect Touch
Alchemy: Snakeblood
Alteration: Atronach
Restoration: Avoid Death, Ward Absorb
Smithing: all the perks that unlock types of armor for crafting
Archery: Steady Hand, Bullseye
One-handed: Dual Flurry, Dual Savagery, Savage Strike, Critical Charge
Block: Quick Reflexes, Shield Charge
Heavy Armor: Tower of Strength
Two-Handed: Warmaster, Critical Charge, Sweep
Enchanting: Extra Effect, Death Siphon
Light Armor: Wind Walker
