I wonder when reviews will be released next week? I'm guessing the average score will 9.0. Not that it's important. :D

I saw on Twitter that reviewers who were given a copy were told not to review until the 10th?  Not sure how reliable that is.

No matter what, reviewers need a long time to score a game like this. They should have a full week or more to play so they can form an educated opinion. Sloppy/rushed reviews are becoming too common in the industry.

each new level after the first takes longer and longer to reach, until eventually you reach the theoretical max character level around 70-80.

As for the skills, of course you can max every single skill, just as you could with Oblivion and MOrrowind. skill leveling also slows down to some extent the higher your reach.

the game pace and the world seems to be designed for characters from level 1 - 50. probably most people who are just playing naturally will not ever reach max level.

So you pick the perks you want in the order you want. and there are something like 280 perks to choose from.

And there are some additional perk like abilities you get from quests.

You're right, and I probably should have clarified a bit more. Here's what I really mean: in past TES games, how fast your skills leveled was dependent on specialization and whether they were declared major or minor skills (this was the case in both Morrowind and Oblivion). In addition, leveling was dependent on your major and minor skills too.

Now, without the class sytem, is there anything preventing me from simply raising all my skills simultaneously? Even if it becomes more and more difficult as each skill rank goes higher, I could still (theoretically) have my character work on every skill simultaneously, since all skills (from what I've seen) now contribute to level up.

Anybody else watch the sound design developer diary?

I really want to try to enable the japanese, french and italian language options via Steam just for kicks.

Has anyone done this before? Is it possible to switch back and forth easily or do you have to reinstall the game each time?

The japanese version of the bard singing in the tavern was pretty cool.

Well, I don't really switch languages, so I can't say for sure, but I've got the impression that nowadays (big) games on Steam rarely include the option in-game. However changing back and forth through Steam should be fast and furious, so don't you worry. ;)

And yes, while I have no intention to go on any non-English runs, the Japanese version really was pretty cool. In fact all versions were really excellent. :)

Apparently the higher a skill the more it contributes to levelling up, which would encourage specialisation.

Hmm, I suppose that would solve the problem, wouldn't it? Much appreciated.

Yeah, I think they've had their copies since last week and there is an embargo on releasing the reviews until the 10th

My annoying cousin is coming over to watch me play Skyrim next weekend. I need it to be alone time when I play, so does anyone know some easy poison recipes?

Why don't you just tell him not to come over? Or are you in a position where you can't do that?

Just feed him a few berries from a hollibush, not too many, or mix Mountain Dew with Tea for him, he'll be ****ting the rest of the day.

Or just use physical abuse. to add spice to it, walk up to him and go

I'm Rick James ****! *smack*

He'll throw a tantrum and I'll get lectured on why I should be nice to my little cousin. I'm living with his aunt while I go to college, so telling him to go away is kind of difficult.
He's a genetic fail anyways, I thought poison would be the humane thing to do! :innocent:

Oh, and I found some Skyrim music.

God Todd Howard podcast. Not sure if it has any spoilers, but so far it doesn't.

Bergamont seeds + imp gall + rat meat + spiddel stick makes quite a powerful potion. If I remember correctly, it'll damage health and silence your visitor :P.

I'll be alone the first night I get it...my little brothers, who look up to me and like hanging with their older brother...and me with them so i can be in their lives...want to check it out so i think I'm going to show them the Golden Claw sidequest.

The music is just so amazingly atmospheric and beautiful.

I can just picture trudging around some frozen mountain, snow blowing about with the northern lights up in the sky with this song playing.
