With Gamestop I can either go to the midnight release or early the next morning to garantee I get it. Although I'm not sure yet if the gamestop here is having a midnight opening, I'd need to find out for sure on monday. I'm hoping they do so I can sit playing on thursday night.

@Redneck1st: You should be fine arriving at 11.30pm but double check with your local gamestop incase they expect you to turn up and take a number or something.

I would consider the price reduction history for other really successful games.

How long did it take for a game like black ops to go on sale?

I guess perhaps during steam's christmas sale there might be some small reduction but probably not any substantial discount until 6-12 months later

anyone ever pre-ordered any games from newegg.com? how long do they usually take? 

I ordered CE from newegg but from the shipping page it looks like the game doesn't ship until release date.

You should get it on Friday unless you ordered it online and they post it late or something. I can't recall what exactly went wrong with my DA2 pre-order but I wasn't the only one waiting until the next week for it.

Unless you literally do not have $60 to your name, I don't see any point in waiting, for god knows how long, just to get Skyrim at a discount price. The game (and all ES games, for that matter) are already an incredible value. You're getting hundreds of hours of high quality entertainment... for $60. I mean, really. If Skyrim was being sold for $300, I'd still buy it on day one and consider it a  bargain.

I can’t recall which game it was, but I do remember a friend pre-ordering a game online and didn’t receive it until a week later due to a shipping issue. It probably doesn’t happen all that often, but it still freaks me out a little. I always pre-order from my local Gamestop and have never had an issue.

This sounds like bad news.  if the shipping page plainly states the ship date as 11.11.11,  then that is what's going to happen.  They're going  ship the product on Friday.  And  if you didn't purchase same day delivery, you're probably not going to get it in time for the weekend.

That is my guess.  I pre-ordered the Witcher 2 from new egg, with next day shipping, and sure as hell, I got it a day after the release date.... ie. wednesday.


Edit:  Wait a minute.  Are they using a comercial company like FedX or UPS to ship it to you? Or are they using the standard US postal system?  If it's the latter then you're royally f**ked, even if you bought same day delivery.  Friday's a national holiday.  No postal service.

Druss I fully understand what you are saying and will call them on Mon and ask how the work the Midnight releases. Now saying that everyone that Pre-ordered from that store will be there but you never know.<LOL>

Naughty If it said it will be shipped on 11/11/11 like others here have said you probably wont have it till some time the following week depending on how it's shipped. Thats why when it's a game for which I'm really looking forward to I pre-order from a local store that way at least if I can't get it at midnight I can be there when they open and get it in my hands.

Yrkoon- I couldn't agree with you more after all IMO TES games are a great value for the money with all the 100's of hours of game play per game. I just wish that I would have gotten into the TES games earlier than I did. I've only got Morrowind and Oblivion. Morrowind I've yet to play due to the fact I had a hard time finding it. After I found it and ordered it someone mentioned steam. Boy was I pissed when I found out I could get it there? <LOL>

The Game is Six days away from release, do you REALLY think they finished it ONE WEEK before the release?

And Second, i'm not an Attention W***e, i don't do that ****, i'm telling you, i have it, i'm a few hours into it, and loving it.<_<

err..... does anybody know how to record from a 360?
cause i don't(yes, i got the 360 version cause they didn't had the PC version, i'll get the PC version once it officially releases)
and my Camera is ****ed up.

But i can give my experiences in the game if you want....

Haven't used in months, i don't really remember the name, but they sell games slightly cheaper than offcial game stores, so i couldn't refuse.

I got Fallout: New Vegas for 20 USD back in April or May of this year at Gamestop. I think it came out October of last year. Fallout 3 was similar. Couldn't help you with a The Elder Scrolls game though, I never paid attention to Oblivion's pricing much after I tried it on my brother's Xbox as I had no interest in the game.

I'm personally waiting for it to drop to 20 USD. Considering the amount of hype there is for the game though, I think we might be waiting longer than 6 months for it to significantly drop in price.
