Yep. Werewolves are in, and so is lycanthropy. And if the rumors are true, Pete Hines and Todd Howard had a really good reason for trying to keep that a secret. As contracting lycanthropy is a huge ordeal connected to one of the major guilds.greengoron89 wrote...

Tough call.
Is it confirmed that you can become a werewolf in Skyrim? If so, I'm going to flip out... loved becoming one in Morrowind, and always hoped they'd bring it back in another TES title.

Agreed. No Vampire has ever been so insidous and pervasive, corrupting the minds of 14 yr old girls everywhere.

By any chance is there a way to cure lycanthropy like there's a way to cure vampirism?
In an American werewolf in paris you could get the heart of the werewolf that made you to become normal again.
Hope that helps.

You could in Morrowind by taking a cure disease or gonig to an alter before the three day period where the transform is complete. SImilar with Vampirism in Oblivion, as long as you took a cure desease potion you would be fine.LPPrince wrote...

In Oblivion, if you didn’t take a Cure Disease potion or go to a temple to pray before your first sleep, you’d become a full vampire in three days.(IIRC) There was a quest you could take to make a cure if you did not complete the above steps. So, I am assuming it would be this way for lycanthropy.

Indeed. It was the exact same way in Morrowind as well - although if you completed the Bloodmoon main quest, you'd get a ring that could transform you into a werewolf whenever you pleased, without ever having to contract the disease.

This makes me extremely happy. Given the Skyrim locale, I was hoping to see lycanthropy make a return in a big way, similar to Bloodmoon. Here's to being a Vampire/Werewolf!

I just want this game already and the sooner I can download the majority of the game before release, if at all, the better.

Anyway, what are yall doing to your PC's before skyrim drops? Along the lines of upkeep, I want to know if I missed anything small but important.
I don't have to do anything. I bought this laptop back in April and has a pretty good card, it's not as good as I thought it would be, but it does its job.

yes.
Also, it seems like it would be very hard to become werewolf and vampire at the same time, as lycanthropy provides 100% disease resistance.

in the case of vampirism, there's a point where you are not a vampire but just have the disease, kind of like HIV before it results in AIDS symptoms.
for a few days (at least in Oblivion), you can be cured by cure disease or an altar. If you don't do it within that time period then you become a vampire.
Once you become a vampire, you can't take a simple cure disease potion to be cured, but there is a quest that provides a very rare cure (in Oblivion)

I just like the idea of being Conan the Barbarian wondering around Skyrim lands. The second character will have less cliché name though when I get around to trying another race and starting a second character.
