Exactly. If the statue had substance it'd make your money worth more.

Most CEs don't offer much of real value - they're just cash-ins, more or less.

That is true there and with what they offered in the CD for Skyrim is probaly worth $20 if that and they want over $90 for it. Tell me thats not one heck of a mark up.<LOL>

LPPrince not to mention the fact that it would have made spending the extra money a little more worth while

Never been a big Bethesda fan, but this one looks indeed very promising. They even got rid of the old dialogue system (which I really, really loathed) for a more "New Vegas" dialogue style. Also, companions. And dragons shouting incomprehensible threats as they fly over you in the mist.

Yum.

In all honest I've just recently gotten into the TES games myself and have Morrowind and Oblivion. I've yet to play Morrowind have been through Oblivion once and I did enjoy it due to it's size and playability. But will have to agree with you the dialogue system is something for which definatly needed an overhaul. As well as for the fact of game needing more voice actors. Which from what I understand both of these as well as many other things have been addressed in Skyrim so I for one am looking forward to Thursday night @ Midnight when I'll be at Gamestop picking up my copy of the game. Then, I head to the midnight release for Skyrim.

1. Enter Gamestop.
2. Greet friends who work at said Gamestop.
3. Show receipt for Skyrim.
4. Give Power Up Rewards card.
5. Receive card back.
6. Acquire game.
1-6. Small talk about Skyrim and other games coming out.
7. Thank however many women are there who will compliment me for my long hair being quite attractive.
8. Leave with a smile on my face.
9. Return home.
10. Take Skyrim out of plastic bag.
11. Go take out my keys.
12. Use keys to cut through thin plastic covering.
13. Rip plastic covering off the game case.
14. Turn on Xbox 360.
15. Take out Modern Warfare 3 from console.
16. Return Modern Warfare 3 to its game case.
17. Place Modern Warfare 3 atop my massive pile of video games.
18. Open Skyrim case.
19. Remove disk from case.
20. Place Skyrim disk on Xbox 360 disk tray. DVD rom drive
21. Close disk tray.
22. Start game.
23. Quit back to the Xbox 360 dashboard.
24. Install Skyrim to my Hard Drive.
25. Restart game.

^My  game plan.  Won't be going to GameStop to socialize, and will be giving quick one word answers to anyone who   tries to delay me with needless chatter when I'm there.  Also won't be letting anyone waste their time putting the game in a plastic bag.  I'll just pay for it, grab it and go.

Just curious, how is somebody born with the "soul of a dragon"? It'll probably be explained in the game, though I'd like to have my character's backstory created and don't want any conflict. :P

"Dragonborn" probably means a descendant of Akatosh and Alessia, like the Septims were.

My game plan

As for my game plan I'll be getting to gamestop close to midnight picking up my game; don't have to pay for it due to the fact that it's already paid for long ago; out the door and in my car heading home. Will already have the puter locked and loaded and the dvd drive open. More and likely the game will already be open before I get home.<G> Put disk in drive and wait for it to load. Install game and work on the CC. We can do our own backstory this time? I didn't realize that there.

Naughty you never did say what your game plan was.Image IPB

Are we talking about game plans?

Mine would be clicking install in my steam library...but that would happen a couple of days before release, since we'll be able to preload it.

So I guess mine would sit glued to my computer screen until the game unlocks :D

The only bit of Skyrim I get these days is rewatching the Northern Lights video.

So beautiful. God forbid I get there in game, I'll sit there for hours just looking into the night sky.

I saw that vid too. I would love to see that in real life but from where I am that's probably impossible.

Long time to be glued to the computer screen<LOL>

Naughty I'll have to agree with you in Beth releasing more. Only a few more days.

Someone refresh my memory here how do we raise up in levels in Skyrim?

It's similar to Oblivion - you perform activities to raise skills like attacking with sword or bow, etc., and when your skills rise high enough you go to the next character level.

however, they got rid of a lot of the repetitive stuff like spamming healing spells or unlock door, etc.

and each time you increase character level you can choose a perk from one of the 18 skills.

Thanks! I knew that they had gotten rid of allot of the repetitive stuff in the game which is why I couldn't think of how we were to raise in levels. Thought that they might have went back to the way allot of games do by xp points for your kills and such.

Another difference is there are no major and minor skills and I don't think the amount you level up is based on maximising a number of skills. And the higher a skill gets up the more it contributes towards getting to the next level.

Really. Your game plan and mine could be twins. I know both the manager and an employee personally at my local Gamestop, but that night there will be no chit chat. I may small talk with people while in line, once the game is in my hand, it’s going to be like running with the bulls.

For my plan I am gonna go during the morning with my dad to EB Games. Everyone will be at school at that time so it wouldn't be that busy. :D And I don't chat to anyone when I go to get it. :P

I knew that there were no longer major/minor skills that why I wasn't sure of the level raising ability. Will have to admit that they've made quite a few changes this time around.

Gunslinger if you live in the states they don't have school on friday.

From what I've heard from another poster it's because of Veterans day. Which surprised me because of the fact that they usually have them on a Monday not a Friday.

I always tend to start chatting with a few of the employees at my local GameStop every time I pick up a game. One even knows me by name now. I'm gonna try to get a job there whenever somebody quits their seasonal position.
