I'd of bought the CE(or regretted not getting it) if the dragon statue was made of stone.

I would have settled for pewter or some other non-precious metal. Or even glass.

Anything but plastic.

I always tend to start chatting with a few of the employees at my local GameStop every time I pick up a game. One even knows me by name now. I'm gonna try to get a job there whenever somebody quits their seasonal position.

I know all of the employees @ my local gamestop and they know me as well thought about getting a job there myself.

My plan is to work Friday, come home and find my Amazon release-day delivery sitting on my steps. And enjoy the $10 pre-order bonus money I get to spend at amazon.com later. ;)

"Dragonborn" probably means a descendant of Akatosh and Alessia, like the Septims were.

No, Dragonborn are chosen by the gods.

Some background on the Thalmor's motivations in the game:

To kill Man is to reach Heaven, from where we came before
the Doom Drum's iniquity. When we accomplish this, we can escape the
mockery and long shame of the Material Prison.
To achieve this goal, we must:

1) Erase the Upstart Talos from the mythic. His presence fortifies
the Wheel of the Convention, and binds our souls to this plane.

2) Remove Man not just from the world, but from the Pattern of
Possibility, so that the very idea of them can be forgotten and thereby
never again repeated.

3) With Talos and the Sons of Talos removed, the Dragon will become
ours to unbind. The world of mortals will be over. The Dragon will
uncoil his hold on the stagnancy of linear time and move as Free Serpent
again, moving through the Aether without measure or burden, spilling
time along the innumerable roads we once travelled. And with that we
will regain the mantle of the imperishable spirit.

Then, I head to the midnight release for Skyrim.

1. Enter Gamestop.
2. Greet friends who work at said Gamestop.
3. Show receipt for Skyrim.
4. Give Power Up Rewards card.
5. Receive card back.
6. Acquire game.
1-6. Small talk about Skyrim and other games coming out.
7. Thank however many women are there who will compliment me for my long hair being quite attractive.
8. Leave with a smile on my face.
9. Return home.
10. Take Skyrim out of plastic bag.
11. Go take out my keys.
12. Use keys to cut through thin plastic covering.
13. Rip plastic covering off the game case.
14. Turn on Xbox 360.
15. Take out Modern Warfare 3 from console.
16. Return Modern Warfare 3 to its game case.
17. Place Modern Warfare 3 atop my massive pile of video games.
18. Open Skyrim case.
19. Remove disk from case.
20. Place Skyrim disk on Xbox 360 disk tray. DVD rom drive
21. Close disk tray.
22. Start game.
23. Quit back to the Xbox 360 dashboard.
24. Install Skyrim to my Hard Drive.
25. Restart game.

^My  game plan.  Won't be going to GameStop to socialize, and will be giving quick one word answers to anyone who   tries to delay me with needless chatter when I'm there.  Also won't be letting anyone waste their time putting the game in a plastic bag.  I'll just pay for it, grab it and go.

Heh, every time I go there I socialize a little bit. I've got a few running gags with the employees there. They recognize me all the time because of my N7 shirts and long hair. And thats from the people who work there that I DON'T know.

I figure that Skyrim is such a big and beautiful game, I can wait a few more minutes to play it, especially since it'll be after midnight.

The only bit of Skyrim I get these days is rewatching the Northern Lights video.

So beautiful. God forbid I get there in game, I'll sit there for hours just looking into the night sky.

I saw that vid too. I would love to see that in real life but from where I am that's probably impossible.

Yeah, well that video got copyrighted by Zenimax.

Even pewter would've been fine by me, but I'd want a more valuable stone.

And the thing is from what I heard on an uboxing of the CE from one of the game writers the plasic wasn't all that great anyway. . Which is why I'm glad that I didn't put out the money for the CE version.

USPS is closed; however, UPS, FedEx, DHL are making deliveries on Friday, in the event if your order is using a shipping service.

I thought all mail companies recognize vets day.

Just the USPS stops business because the postal service is a government entity.

FedEx, UPS, DHL, and all them aren't on the government payroll. UPS recognizes, but doesn't stop US business on Veterans Day.

You'd think they'd have release day shipping if they weren't going to deliever? People aren't that stupid.

Found out today the Gamestop here are doing a midnight opening so my plan is...

1. Leave the house at about 2315.
2. Queue up from about 2330.
3. Bring earphones to avoid repeat of the Halo: Reach incident.
4. Probably get game and leave the store by 0010.
5. Search the city for a taxi home or attempt to walk 5 miles.
6. Get home rip open game.
7. Read the manual as the game installs on my xbox
8. Sword stuff in the face.
9. ???
10. Profit.

I was chatting to the guy in Gamestop about it too and his reason for not getting it was "I don't like potions and stuff. Is that why your getting it? All that alchemy?" my reply was some sort of confused mumble about swording stuff up the face. I'm still somewhat confused by his statement.

And this guy's job is to sell the game?

The ones at our Gamestop are nice, and love talking about games, to the point some times they won't shut up.

Gamestops are funny like that, with the workers I mean, some are great places you love going in even if just to look, others are ran by people who know nothing, hate the place, or just don't care.

Come down to the one hear E, they are always talking about gaming and watching the trailers, and well its not odd if a few people are there if they just talk to you for half an hour lol.

The ones up the road in the next town, two of the five are good like that, the other three suck.

I have actually never visited a GameStop store in my life. I have only purchased games online, mostly from Steam.
