Heh, I remember MK posting that on the Bethsoft forums. At least that would be interesting instead of "LOL dragons".

I've confidence that quote from MK is a motivation in the game. He's just more eloquent than Todd or Pete.

More snippets:

"Or the number could be more Lorkhanic nonsense; that is, convenient for Man."

"The Ysmir line is dead and so is His stranglehold on the mythic."

"A single Wheel? More like a Telescope that stretches all the way
back to the Eye of the Anui-El, with Padomaics innumerable along its
infinite walls."

"We're coming for you in every one of your quarters, Sons of Talos. None shall survive."

Dangit, the HD Skyrim lets-play I was watching was removed while I was watching it. I learned too much already, so I guess that's good in one respect.

Why are you doing this to yourself, man! :P

Don't you want to explore the game on your own for the first time!

I like the way they did this. Much more flexible races.

Nord... definitely Nord. I even have an idea of what he'll look like and what kind of character he'll be.

I need to spend some time learning a little more about the game's mechanics, so that I can perhaps build my character beforehand and go straight into the game with an idea of what I'll be doing.

I think I'll go Dark Elf, that's what I did for Morrowind and Oblvion first, may aswell do that in Skyrim as they're my favourite race.

So anyone seen a good preview other that the talk about the review from that aussie magazine which was happy enough to get to make the 1st? Or is it nowadays that you only get game reviews after launch? Or by the one and only exclusive etc. which is more than likely to give a good review because they were the first? 95% seems pretty high and not one bad word. But I rather make sure before I get my hopes up.

I saw footage of Whiterun. So beautiful! I won't say anything too spoilery (unless you count descriptions of the city to be spoilers), I'll just say what it looks like.

Basically Whiterun is Rohan, but even better! Streams run through the city, originating from what I assume to be a hidden spring near the top of the hill on which Whiterun sits. Tan tundra grass covers the hill, with small cliffs appearing on the hill. The city's layout is like Bruma because it is multi-tiered, but it's done much more beautifully. Buildings are wooden A-frames. The "castle" is a giant hall with smaller rooms located throughout the building. The castle has more activity and people in it compared to an Oblivion castle, which I like. Taverns are lively places, with much more activity compared to Oblivion. Whiterun isn't drastically bigger than an Oblivion city, but I believe it has about 25 -30% more people/stuff compared to an Oblivion city (this is a very rough estimate).

My favorite part is the slower transition between city and country. In Oblivion, after exiting a city you immediately are in the dangerous wilderness. Whiterun has a transitional area outside of the city walls where farms, windmills, breweries, stables, guard outposts (I think...), etc. can be seen.

The roads finally have people on them, with a few travelers being seen outside Whiterun!

That sounds pretty mint.

Defo going high elf, but why do Imperials have such high magic? In morrowind and Oblivion they were a combat/persuasion (stealth) mix.

Heres a question im curious about

When naming your character will you give him/her just a single name or will you add a surname as well?

Why the hell do Redguards and Imperials have a magic bonus? They're just humans.

I'm liking the badass look of the Dunmer. And the female Breton looks nice. I'm having a hard time deciding. I'll probably end up agonizing it just to settle for Argonian in the end anyway lol.
If I do go female I might roll Breton though.

Nord, Imperial, or Bosmer for sure.

I'll play with one default, to get a feel for what I like then make one.

Nord Female: Arnleif
Breton Female: Mina-Eris

No surnames in the game, but certainly in the backstory I make up for them. Now if I could only chose between the Nord and the Breton.

@Chunkyman

That sounds so awesome. I can't wait to see it!

I have a question. I've never played an Elder Scrolls game before so I don't know how the whole class thing works, from what I understand that's not present in Skyrim, instead the player has access to everything from the start and gets to choose what he or she likes in regards to combat.

If I choose an Argonian am I supposed to go more towards an assassin instead of a warrior or a mage or is this just what Argonian's are better at? I want an Argonian warrior so does it mean that my character won't be as effective in those skillsets as another race would be?
