Wow that 's great, you don't actually die in sunlight. That made shopping as a vampire in Oblivion very inconvenient.

I imagine that it would've made it difficult to shop being a vampire. Bet those that like playing a vampire will be happy to see this.

It's going to be a tough call. Based on those stats, Werewolf definitely seems more useful, but depending on the visual appearance, I might still have to stick with Vampire. Also (hopefully) they add a few more vampire abilities.

I'm thinking for the most part I'll either use a Bow or Dual long swords.

Yeah, I'm going dual long swords as well. I'm thinking of (possibly) doing a character who hunts supernatural creatures for a living, similar to Van Helsing or Blade.

Reguardless it should burn just like the abominations running about in Skyrim.

It's definitely a must buy.

I watched 1.5 hours of gameplay in Whiterun and the surrounding country-side. I don't know this definitively, but I think the bounty hunter side quests (yes, you can be a bounty hunter) changes due to Radiant Story. We can get bounties on bandits that are waiting in nearby caves, and I'm willing to bet that the specific cave you go to changes depending on what Radiant Story deems is best for you.

New Skryim Dev Diary "The World of Skyrim"

Fascinating podcast interview with the artists who designed the world and the character models and environments, Matt Carofano, Noah Berry, Dennis Mejilliones, Christianne Meister.

The video features a little footage of Vladimir Kullich (13th Warrior) as Rebellion leader Ulfric Stormcloak and Michael Hogan (Battlestar Galactica) as General Tullius, leader of the Imperial Legion.

Does anyone know if the main story in skyrim is supposed to be better then oblivion's story? Cause oblivion's story wasn't the greatest story.

Does anyone have the guide?  Or anyone with insider info post anything on...

Katana, are they in?  Stats and location(s)?  Two-handed, one-handed, both?

Dual Wielding two Longswords: are there any perks that give you special dual wielding attacks with such weapons?

How is the dual wielding with melee weapons?  Is it anywhere near as involved as magic?

I'm sure I can figure them out by myself, but no harm in asking.  It's also okay if no one here has an answer, I also wanted to share with some of the questions I have in case someone else may have the same questions.

I'ld wager on translation, or that its not expected to do well there. Western RPGs never catch on that well in Japan, I doubt Skyrim will sell even an 8th as many titles in Japan as elsewhere.

Well yes I had forgotten that they don't do well over in Japan as most of theme are into the anime stuff which never really interested me personally.

Yrkoon- I was thinking of Werewolf as well even more so since you posting as there are no negative side effects.

I think it might surprise you.  The game has freaking dragons.  I've also heard about some western games that have done really well over there, I just can't remember their names.  I believe some of them are shooters though and I think Gears of War might be among them.

Famitsu I found out, gave Oblivion their Platinum Award.

Werewolf:
Beast Form once a day
100% Disease Resistance

Beast Form is a long-duration transformation that gives you knockback attacks and insane movement speed. Attacks are based on the one-handed skill and using them does increase the skill. You cannot use weapons or spells in this form, nor can you enter the menu. Your stamina drains slowly and recovers quickly, but your only way to heal is by eating enemies. Doing this recovers health and extends the duration of Beast Form. NPCs who watch you transform will attack you.

If that's truly the case, becoming a werewolf is a lock for me. It might be one of the very first things I seek out when I start the game, in fact.

Aah, I guess this is as good a time as any to list the (reported) skills/powers of each for the purposes of our decision making.

Taken from the someone in the  Bethesda boards  (so I can't account for its complete accuracy):

Vampire:

1st Stage - Your eyes are red and NPCs will start to comment on your eyes and your skin. While sneaking you have have the ability to feed on sleeping NPCs to lower your vampiric stage to the first stage.

Abilities:
Champion of the Night - Illusion spells cast by a vampire are 25% more powerful.
Night Stalker's Footsteps - Vampires are 25% harder to detect while sneaking.
Resist Disease - Your vampiric blood gives you 100% resistance to disease.
Resist Poison - Your vampiric blood gives you 100% resistance to poison.
Resist Frost - Your vampiric blood gives you 25% resistance to frost.
Weakness to Fire - Your vampiric blood gives you -25% weakness to fire.
Weakness to Sunlight - Health, magicka and stamina do not recover while in sunlight and are reduce by 15 points. (only when your outside during the day)

Powers:
Vampire's Servant - Reanimate a weak dead body to fight for you for 60 seconds. (can only be use once a day)
Vampire Sight - Improve night vision for 60 seconds. (can be use multiple time and be toggle on/off)

Spells:
Vampiric Drain - Absorb 2 points of health per second from target. (its a novice destruction spell, cost 5 mana a sec)

2nd Stage (24 hours after first stage without feeding)

Changes from Stage 1:
Resist Frost - Your vampiric blood gives you 50% resistance to frost.
Weakness to Fire - Your vampiric blood give s you -50% weakness to fire.
Weakness to Sunlight - Health, magicka and stamina do not recover while in sunlight and are reduce by 30points. (only when your outside during the day)
Vampire's Servant - Reanimate a more powerful dead body to fight for you for 60 seconds. (can only be use once a day)
Vampiric Drain - Absorb 3 points of health per second from target. (its a novice destruction spell, cost ? mana a sec) *forgot to check mana cost*

Powers:
Vampire Seduction - Creatures and people up to level 10 wont fight for 30 seconds.

3rd Stage (24 hours after 2nd stage without feeding)

Changes from Stage 2:
Resist Frost - Your vampiric blood gives you 75% resistance to frost.
Weakness to Fire - Your vampiric blood give s you -75% weakness to fire.
Weakness to Sunlight - Health, magicka and stamina do not recover while in sunlight and are reduce by 45 points. (only when your outside during the day)
Vampire's Servant - Reanimate a powerful dead body to fight for you for 60 seconds. (can only be use once a day)
Vampiric Drain - Absorb 4 points of health per second from target. (its a novice destruction spell, cost 12 mana a sec)

4th Stage (24 hours after 3rd stage without feeding) Most NPCs will attack you on sight. Unknown if a follower or faction you belong to will also attack you.

Changes from Stage 3:
Resist Frost - Your vampiric blood gives you 100% resistance to frost.
Weakness to Fire - Your vampiric blood give s you -100% weakness to fire.
Weakness to Sunlight - Health, magicka and stamina do not recover while in sunlight and are reduce by 60 points. (only when your outside during the day)
Vampire's Servant - Reanimate a very powerful dead body to fight for you for 60 seconds. (can only be use once a day)
Vampiric Drain - Absorb 5 points of health per second from target. (its a novice destruction spell, cost 15 mana a sec)

Powers:
Embrace of Shadows - Vampire is invisible and has improve vision for 180 seconds. (can only be use once a day)

From just reading this, I choose Werewolf.  in fact, I can't see any reason   for anyone to not be a werewolf.   There are no  negative side effects.  None.  And the transformation seems 100% voluntary.  So basically it's an extra  free skill you can use once a day.

Lycanthropy sounds ridiculous. It's like a free token of badassery every day. There's got to be unforeseen drawbacks, otherwise everyone would start searching the woods to get mauled a werewolf as soon as they get out of prison. Maybe the transformation is actually compulsory and will trigger at midnight if you haven't used it during the day?
