The oldest elf I've ever seen was Divath fyr who was 5000 years. How long do elves generally live?Nashiktal wrote...

High elves should annoy you. They are hypocritical snubs. Especially with their views on necromancy.
Feh.
And aren't most Necromancers Altmer?
Like I said, hypocritical snubs. They turn their noses up toward necromancy but practice is constantly to increase their already significant lifespans.

Nashiktal; How close is the nearest Gamestop; Best Buy. EB games from you? If I were you I'd just order the game for pick up @ the store unless transportation is a problem for you.
Sorry that I didn't see this before.
In any case you are misunderstanding my problem here. I can get to a gamestop alright, (although it is one town over) but the fact that no matter what I will have to download a large chunk of data to play the game. I am a pc player when it comes to bethesda game.
I have capped internet, and when installing via steam most games now WITHHOLD data from the disc so you have to download it from steam. The size varies but I have never had it below a gig of data, and I just can't do that. (not to mention I would be downloading it at speeds of 12. kbs)
Oh ok I mistook what you were saying I thought that you were wanting to download the whole game from steam. I thought that steam was just for varifying the game that you don't download anything from steam?

I think the Steam pre-load is supposed to be starting soon. Still hasn't propogated to my client yet.
Maybe so but you still can't play it even if once you download it.

Nope. Speaking from experience here. If you buy a game disc that require steam to play it, you WILL have to download a large chunk of data. Not as much if you had just bought it from steam, but you still do. This wouldn't be a problem if I didn't have capped bandwidth, but lo I do. Also to back up my claims, here is a quote from bethesda.
"You'll be asked to enter your Steam account name and password to log
onto Steam authentication servers, then setup will start. If you don't
have a Steam account you'll be asked to register one before installing
Skyrim. Note that some of the files may be pulled from the internet
through the Steam client to complete the installation, rather than all
being on the DVD."

Well now couldn't you have cancelled that order? Or does that mean you'll have 2 copies of the game? Because I thought it was you that was asking about the mail for Friday with it being a holiday.

Me either. I anticipated The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, but not for that long and not to this extent. Posting on here with fellow fans for so long has been fun. I remember when you put pics of the huge E3 banner, phase by phase, back in June.
This game is going to be legendary. Can't wait until the hourly countdown until release. I'm enjoying the entire process

Even today while playing MW3 I was singing the Skyrim theme in my head. This game is taking over my head! I fully expect by next week to be screaming Dragon Shouts at people who annoy me.

I remember getting excited and discussing with fellow members of this thread the E3 demo. It's now almost here....a tad sentimental.

I agree, It's been a pleasant thread. I'm going to miss you guys when the game gets released and we abandon this thread to go play Skyrim!
This thread has been going strong almost a year old, and it only has 3 instances of fighting that I can recall. That's gotta be a world record for an internet forum! I think we may very well be the only instance in history where an internet thread more or less policed itself with positive results.
I wonder which one of us has posted here the most? I know I have to be in the top 5, and I've probably posted more info, screens, and videos than anybody else. If I had to guess, I bet the top ten posters here would be naughty99, slimgrin, chunkyman, sympathy4saren (whatever happened to that guy?

Yeah, it’s been a great thread. I was late to the posting party, but have been lurking since around the beginning. After being on some threads, this one is always a breath of fresh air.
