Not surprised.  The Dev Diary talked about horses and one thing they brought up was Red Dead Redemption how they didn't want to be like that.
Sounds dumb to me having the horses like RDR is something all games that have horses should aspire to.

They meant the breed of horse, not gameplay mechanics. RDR had  mostly quarter and paint horses, while Skyrim has (far superior) draft horses. Todd Howard is a big fan of RDR, and said he was inspired by some of the gameplay mechanics in it.

I wouldn't worry, I saw 1.5 hours of HD footage and it looks great to me. While textures are re-used a lot, it's better than Oblivion and it didn't bother me in the slightest. Artistically, Skyrim is light-years ahead of Oblivion too, if that counts for anything.

Yes indeed, i haven't played it too much, as i want to finish all the games i have left before completely jumping into Skyrim like i want to( *Sigh* Battlefield 3's campaign is so boring, DICE why did you included?, all i wanted was the Multiplayer....), but from what i played, giving that you'll be moving a lot, it won't bother you unless you look closely, from a far distance however, they look great.

Well damn...why'd you make it sound so horrible then? Had my heart stopping.

Hey, I have a question. What's the best race for an archer and a battlemage?

Well maybe i made it look too bad, but still doesn't change the fact that if you look closely at the textures, you will see that they are complete and utter garbage, but still, that shouldn't distract you(notice how i never said it would), just make you're moving a lot, to not look at them for too(well, some, some are pretty good)

A Wood Elf for an archer, and a Dark Elf for a battlemage.

Thanks. :) you think there is dual weilding in Skyrim? I don't recall it in Oblivion. :/

Yup, there's dual-wielding in the game. You can also assign spells to one hand and use a weapon in the other, IIRC.

Same here.  I doubt they will, but it would be cool if they crack and allow steam and them unlock the game for people tomorrow.  One can dream, can't they?

You can also, a la Fable III, wield two spells, one in each hand, and combine the power of the two. Though it might be you can't do that unless the same spell is equipped in both hands. But Skyrim still has it's MP system so...

The good news though is apparently there's 2 weapon configurations you can make and switch between the two. Might be more, I don't know.

I am going dark elf and they have absolutely 0 skill bonuses I will be utilizing.

You could dual wield with mods in Oblivion. Action mode.

Well now I've got just under 45 hours till I'll have Skyrim in my hands and be on my way home to slap it into the computer. for the big install,<G>

As for the mention of the patch the first day will it automaticly be installed since we've got to use steam in order to play the game? Not that it bothers me that there is a first day game patch it just shows me that the folks at Bethesda is on top of things.

As for the horses didn't really care for them in Oblivion because the were IMHO to hard to control as you couldn't use the mouse button with them. Also you had to get off the horse in order to attack giving the enemy time to get a few shots off at you with his/her bow.

Like RPGamer I will probably play with a dark elf as that is what I went through Oblion with. But I will look them over and make my decision solid once I've got the game loaded. As I'm thinking either Dark Elf, Imperial or Nord.

Will have to admit that this is the first time for which I had this much anticipation for a game release. I just wish that I had gotten into the TES games earlier than I did. Met allot of great folks here in this thread and hopefully we can stay in touch after the game is unlocked and were playing it.

EDIT: BTW does anyone know if we've got to recharge our magic weapons with soul gems like we had to do in Oblivion? Also is the the Umbra sword going to be in Skyrim?

What do we know about Dragon Shouts? Any info on what some of them are or what effects they might have?

http://elderscrolls....i/Dragon_shouts Some of them sound pretty awesome.

But why can't I be a dragon?

I don’t know what would make me more giddy. Being a dragon or being able to ride a dragon. I'd be good with either of those.

Rocksteady obviously do not use up to date compression technologies.

Currently listening to some music from the soundtrack(ripped from game) and it is amazing, love Jeremy Soule's work.
Speaking of which this is the most epic track on it :D

Saw the footage from live streams. Looked rather bland. Repetitive voice acting. Laughable AI. Annoying companions. Dragons look like the new Cliff Racers. Dragons are scaled to your level while Giant's aren't. That's some great game design there. Upgrades are linear without any setbacks. Unlocking things can only be done with lockpicks. No alternate means. The leveling skills or perks or whatever they are can only be viewed one at a time. So have fun scrolling through a huge list without any way to view them in groups. Not expecting much from this.

Wouldn't be surprised if reviews follow MW3. Overhyped by the 'professionals' while torn into by 'users'.
