Saw the footage from live streams. Looked rather bland. Repetitive voice acting. Laughable AI. Annoying companions. Dragons look like the new Cliff Racers. Dragons are scaled to your level while Giant's aren't. That's some great game design there. Upgrades are linear without any setbacks. Unlocking things can only be done with lockpicks. No alternate means. The leveling skills or perks or whatever they are can only be viewed one at a time. So have fun scrolling through a huge list without any way to view them in groups. Not expecting much from this.

Wouldn't be surprised if reviews follow MW3. Overhyped by the 'professionals' while torn into by 'users'.

1. i dont remember him talking to any npc's in the demo
2.he walked through a town and fought some people, how can you judge the whole AI on that?
3.dragons dont appear every 5 minutes the battle at the end of the demo was scripted (the dragons were not, just the spawning)
4. in the demo he was about level 30, which is quite high for a elder scrolls game
5.there are spells that can unlock doors
6. perks are grouped together by the skill they are assigned to.

I don't think it will flop, i think it will be a good game in the mist of one year dev-cycles (this has been in developent for five) and HD remakes
Thanks and good day.

I fully have to agree with you on your posting here as I've seen alot of the game trailers with game footage and will have to admeit that it looks good to me. As for NPC's though I do remember there being NPC's for which will join up with you seen this in one of the game trailiers. From what I have heard not all dragons will attack you on site some will.

The game he described seemed more like DA2 to me. Actually, it's even worse. I just wish I had used the $60 I wasted on DA2 for Skyrim.

5.there are spells that can unlock doors

In Skyrim?   Do you have any proof of this?

I've scoured every single spoiler-filled  piece I can find on the subject, and have   seen laundry-lists of the Alteration spell school.    A Lockpicking spell  wasn't in any of them.

I couldn't see why there wouldn't be. After all there were spells in Oblivion which would allow you to unlock various types of locks from the easy to the very hard.

It'll sell well based on name alone. And it's the only sandbox, hiking, hack and slash, marriage RPG, so it has a whole market to itself. Frankly, I'm looking forward to AC:R more.

There was Levitation and spell creation in previous ES games as well, but we know for a fact that they scrapped those in Skyrim.

But to answer your point, I can easily see why they'd remove  such a  game-imbalancing  "gimme" power from the game.   I mean,  why bother wasting  valuable skills and perks,, or finding skill stones all designed to increase your lock picking skills,  and   actually taking time to master the new lock-picking system, when anyone  can just cast a spell  from the getgo and instantly open any lock in the game?

High elves should annoy you. They are hypocritical snubs. Especially with their views on necromancy.

Feh.

Meh, Whenever I think of High Elves/Eladrin, I think of all flash and no material. Take away their magic, and they'll cry like babies. And I savor those tears :)

And aren't most Necromancers Altmer?

My level 50 high elf battlemage on Oblivion says hi. Altmer are the strongest race in Tamriel and other races must bow down to them and beg!

Well that is true there but what happens if your not playing a rougish type character than your Royally F***ed.

Meh, AC games are churned out too often these days. Brotherhood was ok, but it introduced very little in terms of new features. I'm hoping when AC3 comes out (after all these Ezio spinoffs), it will be after a long development period.

AC:R = Ass. Creed Revelations.

ACB was more of an expansion anyway, so the jump wasn't going to be as big as the one from 1 to 2. And AC3 will definitely come out next year. To coincide with the whole '2012' prophecy thingy.

You could say the same for any type of build that doesn't take cool ability X. What happens if your super-uber spell caster takes no speech skills? or Your sword wielding brute takes no Alchemy or smithing, or rogue skills?  Also "royally f**ked?"

I'm pretty sure of 2 things here

1) Skyrim's leveling system and  hugely open gameplay is diverse enough to allow for anyone to do anything if they really want; and if they don't want to, then that's their choice.

2) You can probably get by just  fine without ever having to pick a lock, or craft a potion, or cast a spell.

He won't have much time to think since the Altmer had cast a shield 85% spell on himself prior to Mr. Dunmer's attempts to penetrate his gut.

Alteration ftw :wizard:
