Also random fact. Apparently npc's can do all the finishing moves as well.

On the PC? Talk about adding insult to injury.

Wha? npc means non playable character. All platforms npc's can do it. In fact that was a preview a while back, the guy asked a random elf to follow him on his epic quest (he wasn't much of a fighter) but he saw him finishing off a skeleton with a decapitation move.

Sorry, I meant "on the player character". Damned capitalization. Basically, I'm saying it's an extra kick in the balls if, in addition to killing us, the npcs do it in extremely awesome fashion. Image IPB

Just got a text from GameStop about Skyrim! Also purchased a plethora of refreshments and other goodies for my initial few days with the game...I don't have to go anywhere for a while. I'm not going to isolate myself or forget my social life, but I will Friday.

Thanks for posting the new vids and podcasts. I think being a mage is going to be a heck of a lot of fun. It's nice seeing new mage footage!!!!!

I'm heading out tomorrow around 11PM to get in line for the launch. Hoping I'm toward the front. Not waiting longer than an hour outside, though. Screw that. I live in Pennsylvania and its pretty chilly out. But uber excited.

All day today at work I was humming the Skyrim theme at work in my head and at times it was hard to focus. I was thinking about exploring and discovering. The attorney I work for knows I'm a gamer and laughed when I told him I took a vacation day for a video game...all in good humor. Why the hell NOT can't a legal professional be a gamer!?! :P

Also looking forward to Thanksgiving....four days free and lots of family, food, football and Skyrim!

I cannot freaking wait til tomorrow night!!!!!!

@ Naughty99...Did you interact with any merchants? How were prices, and were there a wide variety of products available? Any enchanted items available for a hard working Low Level?

I can't concentrate either. I spent my entire math class tapping the Skyrim theme on my desk and planning out my epic journeys. Pfft, who needs math anyways! :P

I remain skeptical of this "programmer" theory. My current research leads me to believe that Todd Howard is in fact a Demi-God who creates video games with his Jedi-Warlock powers.

The evidence is undeniable:

-He doesn't seem to age.

-"Creation" Engine.

-Todd rhymes with God.

-His games have a lot of soul put into them. But where does Todd collect all this soul to begin with?

-He was conceived by a virgin. (Probably)

-His games have very deep religious lore.

-He has been observed using powerful charm spells on his fans.

-He created a PVC Army to guard him in the afterlife.

You know, I don't think I'm going to plan anything. For once, I'm just going to go into a TES game and play it by ear. The way the new skills and leveling system works means you can just go out and do whatever the hell you want, without having to worry so much about managing level ups and stats, etc.

I'm actually worried I'll never play any of the older TES games ever again after this. It seems like they've reworked and fine-tuned the TES formula so much that going back to Oblivion or Morrowind in the future will just be downright depressing. LOL.

It'll sell well based on name alone. And it's the only sandbox, hiking, hack and slash, marriage RPG, so it has a whole market to itself. Frankly, I'm looking forward to AC:R more.

LMAO as much as I love the Assassin's Creed series that game can easily be sold for the same reason you said.  I smell troll.

About 130 pages ago on this thread, I expressed my skepticism that Todd Howard was Human  (And yes,  he doesn't appear to have aged a single bit in the last 10 years, btw.  Just look at old interviews from the Morrowind days and see for yourself).  I was waved off, my comment dismissed.

Nice to see people finally coming around.

Wait, this is spam or advertising. Haha, just kidding. Picking up the game on the midnight release. Pre-ordered the collector's edition. Can't wait.

Exactly. I don't want to see how quests play out in a manual, I want to experience them for myself. The only particulars I'd be interested in having in manual form would be an item and gear list. That'll be up at gamefaq in due time.

What about this "God's" creations, are they all-powerful to?  Or would they have to learn math to program?  And if he is god why can't he just create a new Elder Scrolls game every day?

That's what I'm doing. I haven't purchased many games this year. With TES I'm taking my time and going to play inbetween working, writing and other human functions. I'm not even looking at reviews or watching preview movies. Going in blind.

I am pretty sure mine is too.

In fact I know he is, and I know what he is going to look like and I know what his name is (I wonder if you can guess it).

lol Conan (The Barbarian) ofc.  Hopefully will be mod at some point where I can change a Dragon Shout to "KROM!!"

Though I am tempted to see how ugly and short and stubby I can go with CC first just for laughs to see if can have some freaky looking mini character. To see if possible.

I can answer that last one.  God would never create an Elder Scrolls game every day because it would be a waste.   Mankind would take his creations for granted.  Several months-worth of Elder Scrolls titles would go unplayed due to  the inherant limitations of time-space.

Now you may be asking yourself, well if Todd Howard is God, can't He just make a single day last several earth years?  The answer is:  He could, of course.  And maybe He has.... in some other place far removed from our universe or even our dimension of existance.  But that's beside the point.  From a human  psychological  standpoint, the best way to generate awe, belief and worship  with regards to human beings  is to do exactly what He's doing:  Create an Elder Scrolls game every few years.

Yeah youtube is starting to be littered with gameplay footage. Guess Zenimax's deletemobile can't keep up anymore. Also, polltime.

The main point of my post is about the need of math.
