Hey guys, I had a question...

I've recently become interested in Skyrim and have seen some trailers here and there...

I discovered that Skyrim's Collector Edition will contain an artbook...but I don't want to pay 150 euros just for an artbook...I don't want that dragon statue either...

Therefore, can the artbook be bought separately?

Most likely not, but you might be able to find someone willing to sell it to you?

Unless it's super important that you have the artbook, just save the money and try to find someone willing to sell it separately.

I really don't know how to hook my PC so that I can play on my TV, so I never have. Plus, I like playing with my keyboard and mouse when I play on my PC. (all my bioware game are on PC)

I play fallout and fallout nv on my PS3, so I decided to get Skyrim on PS3 as well. I figure that the controls will be similar.

My brother had morrowend for PC and I could never get use to the keyboard and mouse controls (of course that could have been because Morrowend was the first RPG I played on the computer.

for my copy of Oblivion I never really used any of the mods except the body, hair and face mods, and I had to use the face mods for Oblivion because the faces were awful, thankfully, it looks like they've fixed that issue with Skyrim.

lately I tried out the f2p DC universe online on pc and on PS3 and I prefer to play it on the pc because I like my keyboard and mouse layout better then the PS3.

Just use an HDMI cable? It's nothing special. In fact, it's almost exactly like hooking up a console. (Unless your graphics card doesn't support HDMI. In which case you'd probably have to find a VGA or DVI port with a converter.)

It is why I have a monstrous 45 ft. HDMI cable + wireless stuff for when I want to game on TVs. (Almost never, as monitors are teh winsauce.)

Yep, if your graphics card has HDMI output then it's just like connecting console to TV.

If it doesn't there are other ways but they aren't as simple. There's always a way.

If its like the UK one then theres a good chance that its already shipped and not been updated. They probably have thousands of them to update so they get done long after its shipped.

I really didn't know that. thanks. Oh my 42 incher is a plasma HDTV, so I'm sure it will take a HDMI cable, my brother needs one anyway. as he bought that Rocksmith game to help him learn how to play his electric guitar better.

What they meant was make sure your PC graphics has an HDMI output. No big deal otherwise anyway there are adapters. But can your PC run Skyrim? If so I reckon it's totally more worth it to have it on PC.

I also bought the CE only for the artbook and making of video. I will sell the dragon statue.

I could also be wrong...but in the past they tend to have shipped me things long before they were updated. That or I have some sort of magic postman.

I've a slight concern myself. I paid off the game on monday in gamestop, well by paid off I mean I traded in Arkham City to pay off what was remaining and then used what was left over of the trade in to order Saints Row 3 for my brother. I just realised that I only got a receipt for SR3 and not my Skyrim pre-order, I have older receipts from when I paid off other instalments. I hope this doesn't end up becoming a "thing". I dislike it when "things" happen.

So, I've finally got my copy. It's quite strange these days, sometime I wonder why I bother with retail versions anymore. Steam says I can't install from disc, because the game isn't released yet. However, I can preload just fine.

That said, now to find something to keep me occupied for another 6 hours -.-

Reminisce with us over how terrible Oblivion is going to feel after playing Skyrim? :o

I'm a little wary of reviewers' enthusiasm after DA2. Not that I expect Skyrim to be bad... Very excited to lose my weekend in it. Many, many weekends.

I couldn't agree with you more on the reviewers as I remember quite well with the way for which DA2 was suppose to be such a wonderful game with a great story line and this and that. And it was a total let down as far as I was concerned at least. But I don't think that we've got to worry about that with Skyrim.

I did find out a few things for which I was wondering about

1. Now there is no quickslots Don't know if this is good or bad thing yet.
2. You do need soul gems to recharge your weapons. Not sure if Umbar is in the game or not.
3. Perks you don't have to pick them when you level up you can store them the same way with Dragon souls.

It's so true! :pinched:

I only got to play Skyrim for about 20 minutes on tuesday, and I wanted to try to finish Oblivion last night but I just couldn't get into the game anymore after Skyrim.

I will never play Oblivion again and possibly Morrowind.  I honestly hope the best modders for both shift all their attention to Skyrim too.

Guess its a good thing Skyrim is my first TES game and I don't have to think about going back to older ones no matter how awesome they were.

In a way it makes Skyrim better, I think. It allows me to see how far the tech behind it has progressed. So, I am glad I played those games. ;)

True, true - Although I might revisit Oblivion sometime for the lolz. That game made some awesome memories. Most of them funny.
