My video card meets the minimum requirement but not the recommended for Skyrim. I have a ATI Radeon HD 5570 (which I should upgrade at some point anyway)

Reminisce with us over how terrible Oblivion is going to feel after playing Skyrim?
Oblivion always felt Terrible(well for me anyway).
I Haven't played Morrowind since i started playing Skyrim, but will i play it again?
Well yes, the story is still awesome.
but i don't know about the Gameplay.
That said, if someone made a Mod for Morrowind with Skyrim's Graphics and Gameplay, i would throw Skyrim straight into the Trash.
EDIT: To avoid Confusion, i never said it was going to Happen nor that it was possible, i said IF happened.

Yes. That card is certainly not enough to play the game properly, I think.Verly wrote...

As long as you don't play the game for hours on end at one time, your computer should be fine. My cousins old ass computer can play DA:O at high quality as long as she only plays for 3 hours at a time.

i noticed a strange problem with Loading textures(360 version, i don't know if it happens on the PC, i still haven't gotten it, but i will).
this happens with Objects(particularly the one the player is using.
One moment, they look lovely, but at another point(usually after loading), it looks like it was pulled straight out of the PS2.
anyone else has had this problem?

I could also be wrong...but in the past they tend to have shipped me things long before they were updated. That or I have some sort of magic postman.
I've a slight concern myself. I paid off the game on monday in gamestop, well by paid off I mean I traded in Arkham City to pay off what was remaining and then used what was left over of the trade in to order Saints Row 3 for my brother. I just realised that I only got a receipt for SR3 and not my Skyrim pre-order, I have older receipts from when I paid off other instalments. I hope this doesn't end up becoming a "thing". I dislike it when "things" happen.
I would go and get your last receipt before you get the game so that a "thing" doesn't happen lol.
I would likely have a stroke if the lack of a receipt denied me Skyrim.

One more reason why I prefer living in a big city again instead of the so-called town I'm stuck at for the time being.

They just wanted my name. Looked it up in the computer, realized I paid the whole thing off, gave me a new receipt, and had me wait in line.
I assume the Skyrim midnight release will be the same. And even if it isn't, I'll be just fine since I know the folks who work at my Gamestop and I'm easily recognizable. Hah.

(Seriously, don't do this unless you already know exactly what you're doing. Steam will destroy your game files, otherwise.)

I've long since paid for mine way back when I pre-ordered the game. Just waiting for the pick up @ Midnight tonight.

Every race starts at 100 in all 3 stats
All base Skill levels are at 15.
With my 2GB card and 2.2GHz i7 with up to 3.1 with Turbo Boost, the game runs fine at ultra with 8x AA, widescreen, 1920 x 1080 even though it detected High settings for me.
Some voice acting goodness: they went all out as far as I am concerned:
Kirk Thornton
Richard Epcar
Michael Gough
April Stewart
Gideon Emery
Corri English (DAII, various)
Astrid - Cindy Robinson
Vex - Kari Wahlgren
Ellenwen - Jean Gilpin (Meredith, DAII)
Karliah - Moira Quirk (Fortune MGS2)
Azura - Lynda Carter
Galmar/Septimus - Paul Eiding (Roy Campbell Metal Gear Solid seriea)
Brynjolf - Robin Atkin Downes

Honestly, there just aren’t any games in the videogame landscape that even come close to this, save for the games the team have made prior. And scope aside, even they’re at a stretch to keep up
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is, in my humble opinion, a perfect game. It’s the first game in nearly 14 years as a videogame journalist I’ve ever given a perfect score to, and despite its flaws (of which there are a few), it delivers on so many varying and engaging levels, it really is unparallelled.
The best way to express any of this though, is to simply relay the event. One of the best non-spoiler examples I could muster came in the way of talking to a priest in the town of Falkreath who was conducting a burial in the town’s graveyard — the biggest graveyard Skyrim has to offer, apparently.
Talking to him lead to me asking the others at the service what they were there for, and it turns out a little girl who’d not yet “seen her 11th winter” had been ferociously attacked and mutilated by a man who was now being held in the town’s jail, located in the barracks. That’s it. There was no quest-line given, no on-screen prompt to do anything save for a tantalising piece of information: said murderer was locked up. I decided to investigate further. Upon doing this, I learnt that the man suffered an infliction many of you know as werewolvism, and that there was a chance I could help cure him of his burden and maybe, just maybe, bring some relative justice to the young girl’s death. The rest of the tale, I actually cannot tell you for pure spoiler reasons. But I can tell you it’s not even remotely clear cut and dry; you’re forced to think for yourself and the characters around you and make decisions that will impact you. And this is was just one other, small example.

I've no way into town until after 11pm anyway so I will have to just take my chances. I know the manager and the girl that works in there seems to want to murder me with her stares, if either of those two are working I'll be fine.
The wait is getting unbearable now. Its got to the point where I've planning out exactly how I will kill the next 4 hours or so until I leave to pick up my copy. Luckily its Thursday so its a decent night for tv.

Between building my PC, finishing up my homework, and taking my exam today, I'm not sure I'll have the willpower to stay awake to get it.
Edit: Gotta love being on a first name basis with all of the games people in town. Just switched my pre-order over the phone, so no driving out in the terrible wind and cold just yet.
