Let's try this one more time!

At least it's possible to create half-decent looking females this time around without mods.

I'll believe it when I see it in game for myself.

...Those screenshots are from in-game? 'o.O;

Well now thats something different there.

I'm curious about the enchanting of items. I read that you learn ehanting sklls by taking other items apart or some such like that. Does that make the item for which you've tanken apart useless?

Yep, you have to destroy the magic item you found to learn the enchantment. But then you know how to make more of them and you can apply it to any other item in your inventory.

I thought that this was the way it worked but wasn't sure. Thanks for clearing it up for me.<G>

From PCGamer UK

The games we normally call open worlds – the locked off cities and level-restricted grinding grounds – don't compare to this. While everyone else is faffing around with how to control and restrict the player, Bethesda just put a f----ing country in a box. It's the best open world game I've ever played, the most liberating RPG I've ever played, and one of my favourite places in this or any other world.

Your first dragon kill is a profound, weird moment. I rushed to the crashed carcass to loot it, then looked up. The whole town had come out to stand around and stare at the body, a thing as vast and alien to them as a T-rex in a museum.

I tried shooting an ice bolt at it, just to demonstrate it was dead, and the force unexpectedly catapulted the whole thing violently into the distance. A beggar looked at me and said, “Oh sure, just throw your trash around.”

1920x1080 on Low settings

1920x1080 on Ultra settings

you can definitely see the difference in the texture size and shadow quality

I'll have to fully agree with you on that there. I am so ready for this game.

Yeah, no real differences.

But whatever, long enough aesthetics are good, I won't mind.
Though in this game, they are amazing.

Well the males weren't really any better... The Skyrim default faces already beat the monstorities that Oblivion had by a landslide.

I've got other obligations this weekend but, based on the reviews and what not thus far I may give this a shot. Have been a little tired of the fantasy genre lately but Skyrim appears to be worth the buy.

Your right, I thought the Oblivion models were bad, I can't remember if morrowind's was as bad as Oblivion's though.

Those of you who've played it, is it possible to be a double agent while working with one faction? Wanted to make an Imperial Assassin who pretends to be with the Stormcloaks, though I'm worried the game will force me to work with them and fight the Imperials.

You can do quests and talk to both of them but at some point you have to choose between helping the Legion capture Windhelm or helping the Stormcloaks capture Solitude.

Dammit, thanks for the answer. How far in is the choice?

Yeah, I hope I can screw over the people I work with. *cough*darkbrotherhood*cough*
I kind of doubt it'll be possible (it seems like a  very Fallout and not very Elder Scrolls thing) though, so we'll probably have to make do with joining a faction and then assassinating all of its members.

Well, all of my PC stuff is now here, and I have a Win7 ISO lying around somewhere with a free product key.

Now all I have to do is go to class, take my exam, build my PC, and pick up Skyrim later tonight.
