Oh, crap. My bad, man. I thought it was a typo on your part. I sympathize.

LOL. I can't actually go and pick it up until later in the afternoon, so even when tomorrow finally arrives I'll be late to the party. <_<

Anyway, I can't stop watching trailers and gameplay footage... all of it is absolutely amazing.

I think one of the things I love most about what I've seen so far is the "Morrowind" vibe I get from it. I can't quite put my finger on what it is exactly, but it seems to have that special "something" that Morrowind had (and Oblivion didn't).

That feeling is very, very important to me. Morrowind is one of my favorite games ever made, and the fact that Skyrim gives me that same kind of feeling pretty much seals the deal for me.

Is it that feeling of culture? I loved Oblivion but it lacked that mythology and atmosphere that surrounded Morrowind. At least that's what it feels like Skyrim brought back, to me.

FWIW the RPS Wot I Think review thingy states exactly this.

I wasn't expecting my GameStop to have a midnight launch. I am now very happy I don't have to wait until 10 am to pick up Skyrim.

@nameless one7 and anyone else who was wondering.

I live on the east coast of the states, Steam thinks I was logged on in Australia before going to offline mode in Steam.

Morrowind was the first elder scrolls game I played, I liked it but I didn't really love it. The game was more annoying than fun, getting lost trying to find the entrance to some castle or something got old quick, vague directions on where to go, it could be frustrating, the main storyline sucked, the worst quest was having to drag that lady all over the map playing dress up with her then having to drag her back to some camp. That was one of the most nightmarish experiences in the game I hated it.

Lucky, oh well, I couldn't play skyrim this today if I had early access to it anyways.

The 11th day has finally come and I'm eagerly awaiting for the postman. My body is ready.

By the way, I have a question for those already playing the PC version. Are the Steam updates for Skyrim big?

As a Console, i imagine i know the Answer already, but i will ask it still.

Does the game Accept two cards in SLI/Crossfire mode?
i'm i'll probably won't need two cards, but i'm still curious, since i'm not gonna be playing any other game for a while, really wanted to know if theres ANY reason to keep my second card connected.

The PC screens look somewhat unimpressive...

Are we living in alternate universes?

They look gorgeous.

Come on...for PC that is rather underwhelming. I didn't expect Witcher 2 graphics but look into the distance or textures.

Textures and draw distance both look great to me.

I know after seeing these that I will never need to install texture mods and the graphics extender. Those really reduced my Oblivion fps.

You have to look at these from the point of reference of the vanilla textures in Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas and Oblivion

You and me both Naughyt.  I think this looks amazing as hell.  I guess you have to be a graphics ***** to see the bad there.

Is it me or does gamespot only give 9.5 or higher gamer scores to really really hard games like Dark Souls?

I'm not sure. I'll have to think about it, perhaps even go back and play Morrowind some time before I can pinpoint what that "feeling" is exactly.

I know I liked Vvardenfell a hell of a lot better than I did Cyrodiil. There was something about the harsh, almost barren nature of Morrowind's landscapes that appealed to me. Cyrodiil was too... "pretty" and "civilized" for my tastes.

Skyrim, on the other hand, feels like a combination of both. Parts of it definitely have the "prettiness" going on, but a lot of the landscape is clearly cold and very harsh. I like that sense of variety in the landscape - it ought to make things very interesting.

I agree with greengoron. Oblivion felt like a walk in the park whilst Morrowind was immersing.

Part of the charm was the spectacular music. Part of it was the exact thing Nameless one7 brought out - more difficult-feeling games get a higher score (and they deserve it, I say!). I felt a bit lost and weak in Morrowind, it was an anxiety and question of whether I will stay alive in this really animated dark-believable world. edit: and it felt thrilling!

ps. also the art was really original, not the foto-realism we see in Skyrim (sods)

Exactly the reason why Morrowind was so good.

Just walking in the game was a lot of Fun.

Skyrim, imo, has captured that experience, Oblivion didn't.

The countdown continues. I'm on a caffeine-free diet, yet I have a Mountain Dew standing by for when I play the game.

I've eaten some hot wings, and will be chowing on some dollar menu sandwiches later for sustenance.

Bathroom is two doors down from my bedroom.

I HAVE PLANNED FOR THIS.

Under six hours! Getting my copy at 11:30 pm. My GameStop is doing an open free play in their store starting at 10 and I get the game a half hour early...which is great because I will be playing at midnight. All preliminary things are done...just need the disk.

I cannot friggin wait! Almost game time!
