Alright, which one of you guys wrote this user review on Metacritic?Merrill4Life said...
Skyrim is supposed to be Bethesda's response to the smash hit
Dragon Age II yet it fails to measure up on all levels. The character
development system is boring and almost arcane in it's complexity,
compare this to Bioware's talent tree system which let's you pick what you
need and quickly get right back into the action. The world seems empty
and barren for the most part leaving you to wander aimlessly without the
focus and direction provided by the dungeons in DA2. Also none of the
towns and cities even come close to recreating the vibrancy and magic of
Kirkwall. If you have played any FPS before then you have basically played
Skryim, the gameplay is totally lacking of any tactics and depth.
Bethesda's most obvious attempt to ride Bioware's coattail's, however,
is shown by how it prominently features Dragons in the main story, I
wouldn't be at all surprised if they were slapped with a lawsuit for
copyright infringement. If Bethesda would spend more money on
development instead of bribing game reviewers they may have been able to
push out a decent product. It's no wonder RPGs are becoming less
relevant, it's because companies like Bethesdea, Cdprojekt, and Eidos
keep rushing out FPSs in RPG clothing to appeal to the CoD crowd. Stay
away from this trite and unimaginative game, if you must get your FPS
fix get Battlefield 3 or better yet wait for Mass Effect 3. There is a
reason Dragon Age II was proclaimed "Game of the Decade" and Skyrim
falls flat on it's face in it's attempt to take the crown.
Son, I am disappoint.
Troll review is troll.
i think i'll go hunting Tonight.
Anyway, i don't know if this was already asked/discussed/whatever already, but so far, how many Guilds(or groups, however you wanna call them) have you guys joined, or at least attempting to join?
i just joined one called The Companions, Skyrim's Warriors Guild, and i have been contacted by the Dark Brotherhood to join them, i'm on the quest of joining them right now, i also heard about the College of Winterhold, but i don't know if that's a Mage Guild.

My mouse works fine in CC, pointer shows up, click and drag sliders, click icons next to head>body etc works fine even mouse scroll up and down lists of options is fine.
thanks, that lets me know something went wrong with my download. No pointer shows up for me at all. I'll try re-installing the game.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!(Yes, this is me raging.)
My first ever bug and it has to be a bugged Esbern, not only is he MUTED, I have to press E at him after each line he says just to get the next line and continue with the damn story.
I expected bugs, but not this.

It's too bad I can't get out to Gamestop until later today - I'd already be playing the game and could put any preconceptions I might have had to rest, without picking up any more.

I'm not reading anything else about the game on review sites or elsewhere. I'm already worried about going into the game with too many preconceptions (both positive and negative).

The things like (UI) are the only real problems I've heard about. Everyone is saying that game is awesome. I'm not worried at all.

Yes, High Elf. Deal with it, Skyrim.

No, the problem is that some people are blowing the negative stuff way out of proportion - DA2 and ME3-style. It's not good to read too much of that crap because it can skew your perspective somewhat, and make you worry too much that something isn't going to be as good as you'd heard (or will just downright suck).

I don't recommend anyone tries to say hello to a mammoth. It didn't end well for me...

Well I just learnt my lesson the hard way. Just for kicks I killed a chicken in Riverwood and all of a sudden the whole town turns against me:crying:
LOL I'm watching Fraser kill everyone in Riverwood right now. Now he's complaining that the unkillable guy that was with you in the tutorial is trying to kill him. LMAO
He's ignoring quests and just killing everyone he meets. Not the way I'd play but entertaining to watch.
It's actually a good way to level your skills. Town NPCs are tougher this time around and early on give pretty good boosts to your attack skills. Not sure about the armor skills, that Heavy Armor goes up WAY too slow...

I got an arrow stuck in my arm. No matter what I did, it wouldn't go away. Google gave the answer. Open the console. Type sexchange and press enter to change your gender. Do that again to switch back and the arrow is gone.

Ha I just let an archer hit me with a few arrows and that did the trick also.

Got my rear handed to me a few times, which is nice for a challenge. I keep notes of where I need to explore and where I have to go back to at a later level. I have done a few side tasks but I'm about to do some main quest stuff til dragons arrive. Have only been to Riverwood and Winterhold, about to head into Whiterun. Just completed a task but I'll get my bounty later. I like how its neatly categorized.
Having a blast, can't wait until I get deeper and deeper into it.

The game is just so big that you aren't sure what to do. I find myself wondering where to go, who to talk to when I get side quests. For example, I went to jail and broke out, but couldn't find the chest with my stuff. I searched all over the internet for information about where exactly this chest was (like it's EXACT location), couldn't find any. Finally just decided to go back to jail and serve my time, and luckily my stuff appeared afterwards. And when I think of things like alchemy, making potions and stuff, and you don't have a recipe guide.
I think the game is just too huge and too open that you end up not knowing what you should be doing. I can't ever tell what objects I should keep, which ones I should sell off. I don't even know if there is storage or not, where to get it. I read you can buy a house. Can't even find out where. The game just expects you to find everything yourself, and I guess I just am not that kind of person.
I just am not having fun. It's not a story about character development, about getting to know people, about learning about the universe of the game you're in. It's a game about just doing what you want. You play as a mute character and it just makes me feel disconnected, like the overall storyline doesn't matter. I still have no idea what the heck the story is about the war (why they went to war, who's are war with who, etc). There's no point, no goal, nothing to achieve. I need to play a story and see it unfold.
I just don't the patience. I think it's like that game Myst that I got for Christmas one year. It's a game where you don't have goals, where they let you do whatever you want and where you have to discover everything yourself. Didn't like it, and I've come to the conclusion that I don't like Skyrim. Playing Skyrim just makes me even more impatient for Mass Effect 3 (and I have been so critical about it!!) and Dragon Age 3. I need to play a character with a voice, I need to have compagnons, I need to have goals and objectives. Playing as just one mute character who can do whatever he wants just doesn't do it for me.

I'm having fun, this my kind of game. I just love exploring. I'm not far in, just walked around after the first scene and found a mine. Now that I've made it through there I'm just getting to the first town.
Only annoying glitch I've had so far is sometimes when I try to pick something up it just starts floating, then I have to put press the collect button to put it down and then try and pick it up again.
