It does not feel like Oblivion at all. The pacing is a lot tighter. The world feels much more alive. And the graphics are breathtaking.
The best part of the game? I love the map so much.

His movement is random. leave the prison and come back later. Eventually he'll walk up close enough to the gate for you to interact with him.101ezylonhxeT wrote...

3rd person. And now, 3rd person even with a bow. They've made it as good as any 3rd person view in any game. In fact, Skyrim even lets you zoom out to isometric view now, just like you could in DA:O!RageGT wrote...
BTW, you guys play on First or Third Person View? FP makes me sick so I only play TES games in third person, except when shooting with a bow! =)
This game is something else. I suspect the entire Genre has just experienced some monumental seizmic shift. A proverbial re-setting of standards because of Skyrim.

PC you hold E, the button you use to add items to your inventory. Hold it for a second or two and cursor will shrink meaning you picked it up. Don't need to hold onto to the button after that to move it. And you can only raise or lower it in First Person.
Cool, thanks!
And yeah, this game shows what "improvement" of an established series means! There's everything that made MW and even Oblivion great. But perfected to a point where even the small flaws can hardly be noticed. (like no hotkeys for changing weapons/spells.. heh What happened to their usual wheel? =)
And Rigel Strong-Arm, my Rage could marry that girl! A pitty she was so obtuse! arf, arf, arf™!

I wonder if I'm the only guy who doesn't run at all outside of combat.
I don't unless the game calls for it. It's more realistic to walk + everythings beautiful.

I alternate. I can't commit to one and i'm weird like that. The walking animations in 3rd person are a trillion times better than any Bathesda game ever so I can actually enjoy 3rd person but when I'm using spells or shooting I need the pricision only 1st person can give me.
Also indoor areas just feel odd if I'm not in 1st person.

And my testing is going nicely. Merchants gear does change with level. At 77 and the guy in Whiterun sells Ebony armor and down.
Do you know how to rotate objects and stuff in the inventory screen? People have told me to hold the mouse button but that does nothing.
Also when selecting spells to equip is there any way to unequip both? Because I always have trouble trying to say get one spell in both hands which forces me to equip a sword and shield and then a spell and then unequip the sword and then the spell. It's frustrating ><

Yeah, looks like I'm going to keep doing side stuff while the main quest chills a bit.

Has anyone found any vampires? I wanna get infected.
I met a wanderer on the road who had been infected, asking me for a cure which I didn't have but she marked where she was biten on my map. I'm not so eager to go there for now, until the next full moon, if you know what I mean! huhauahuha

PS: Nopz, that's not it. Reloaded before entering the passage and it stopped crashing... right at the Snowy Sabre Cat! OUCH! Better run from that at level 8. It's a one-hit kill kitty! =))

Wow, just had one of those insane moments. I was up in the northern part of the map and lo and behold a Dragon circled overhead. I engaged it but then during the battle I spotted not only a giant, a sabre cat and an icewisp all wanting a piece of me but yet another dragon just a few kilometres away, luckily too far to notice me.
*The Lion KIng theme springs to mind*
Food chain all accounted for, it seems....

Played through the intro/tutorial and had to go to bed ... loooong day/week @ work.
Superb game-play and graphics.
Finding it easy to navigate through the menus and inventory.
Guess it helps that it's very similar FONV in those respects ... only better.
Unlike a certain game that greatly disappointed me recently, Skyrim definitely feels like is predecessors. That's a good thing imo, it lends a certain continuity a familiarity to the game.
But ... why do you always start in prison or as a prisoner?
Anyone else wonder if BioWare will notice how many pages this topic has gone to in so short a time?
Nothing even close on the DA2 boards.
Food for thought BioWare ...
