so... again, I'm a Thane of Whiterun and the jarl told me that I can go ahead and buy a house there.... who do I talk to to get that done?

His assistant.

Whoops I didn't see the question. Indeed, you need 5000 gold to buy it, and  + [ between 1500 -1800 ] gold for all furnitures.

These people are ridiculous. I had an elven archer send a spirit wolf after me while I was just minding my own business. I kill his familiar and then proceed to beat the living daylights out of him and he has the nerve to beg for mercy? Should have thought of that before attacking heavily armed strangers.

All the mooks try to surrender just before you kill them.  I've heard that a lot.

I am gaining a healthy respect for the mages.  I'm a two-hander so the slow attacks are murder- literally- when someone's freezing you in place.

Also, slightly off-topic:  I found an "Unusual Gem" and picking it up  set off a quest:  "Find an appraiser".  Problem:  I can't find any appraisers in Skyrim.

The thieves' guild. Only them can help you determine this unusual gem. You will find this appraiser among them.

The environments and crafting are making me so happy, but I think the biggest improvement I see is in the dialogue and NPCs' reactivity. They react even to what weapon I'm wielding. Story-wise this game seems more.... serious than Oblivion did. I say that in a good way. Very impressed. Lots of little details, like after talking to some people about Ulfric and talking to him (BULIWYF!) I understand why his mouth was bound at the start.

Anyway, back to it...

i think this game is truly epic exploring the mountain i found a white dragon a very strong one was tryly an hard fight considering i am level 11

Stay away from White Dragons for now, they and the gold dragons are the high level ones. Alduin(sp?) the main antagonist is a White Dragon too.
I've also been the victim of a finisher by an Orc bandit with a Greatsword and I forgot to save:crying:
Also why do Horkers look like Walruses now?
That is all, Hail Sithis!

LOL seriously ? DID you ?

As far as I remember in previous TES games there were main attributes and skills based on those.
Just tell me there was no Strength for example and it didn't affect your melee damage.

Maybe I just played different version of Morrowind, Oblivion ... who knows.

LOL indeed. My bad. Forgot how I had every attribute over 150, STR over 250, legitimately, in Oblivion and MW! hehe Good thing they're out of Skyrim, imho. There are much better things to do in the game i/o metagaming for attributes superboost!

I have Barbas too... Naughty! Did the first part of his quest, told him to stay and I can't find him again. He'll prolly ran to the second part of his quest but I'm not going there just yet! hehe - Barbas mean Beards ... =)

Does anyone know if there are Silver Weapon in the game? They are not in the forging perks!

So has Bethesda released a patch for those who don't have an Xbox controller? You know, for people that actually bought the game on PC?

On PC you say?

Certainly, Skyrim is trying something new with the complete removal of attributes, but I think the system itself is much more balanced and enjoyable. In previous TES games, leveling was only about increasing numerical stats. With the new perk system, it's possible to evolve your skills in different ways, which adds to the intrigue.

Ex: There's a perk which allows my healing spells to also heal my stamina.

(Imo), this was exactly where TES needed to go.

Do some mage stuff, find out. B) (I'm not sure if it's a spoiler, so I'll just let you find out. It is totally awesome, though.)

But that blasted Draugr Lord (or whatever is the right name) sob with his disarming shout! GRRRR.

Is that what it was?  A Shout?

I guess that makes sense.  When he   disarmed me, it completely knocked me off my game...and blew my mind at the same time.  I thought it was an actual 2-h weapon perk and I immediately   went to the skills menu to see where it was so that *I* could  take it the next time I get enough points.  Couldn't find it

There is.

Have you done any of the Companions quests yet?  There's one where they send you off  into some dungeon to retrieve some blade piece.   In my game There's  an entire room of soulsworn (or whatever they're called) fighting some Draugr, each one of them drops a silver weapon of some kind.

They're nothing special against Werewolves in this game, but they do extra damage against undead... which is a nice boon.

Has anyone's character been victim of an enemies finishing move? I heard that the enemies use them, but it was unclear if they use it on the player character.

Oh yes.  Every single Giant  and Frost Troll you meet will pull off finishing moves on you after they kick your ass.

Yep.  Crafting is a big step up!  I mean, I went to the bench and grind wheel and just started repairing and upgrading my crap. Very intutitive.  A giant leap forward for ES.  Liked the ambient dialogue.  Got warned a few times by guards for carrying my weapon drawn.  I am loving this game.

Having your head smashed in by a Draugr Deathlord in a cinematic fashion: not a fun experience.

Instead of blaming your "bugs" on the game being a console port (it's not, but lets go with that thought), maybe you could try and figure out the PC specific settings of your game menu? I can tell you exactly how to fix your UI problems. Go to your  gameplay settings.  Find the option that says "console game pad support". It's on by default. Turn it off. Now you'll be able to use your mouse as intended.

Anyways so far...

I find the game a vast improvement over the last ES games and given the other RPGs this year, a shoe in for that award however....I'm not that much in "praise". To me it simpley is not the Best RPG ever, a solid 9 and a must own title yes. But nothing even close to "best" imo, so far the "radiant" story, I'm bound to figure is alot of hype, Dragon's arn't a chllange if you can get the bastards to land, even a two on one is winable, hell normal necromancer mobs are more of a pain in the ass for my swordsman. The unclear quest nature or "danger bounderis" is another huge problem. Annnd

Nearlly all of the factions stike me of as being from stock English Humor, or they just suck. Still a good game, but no where near the best,  or near its hype. But still a good game.

Hmm.. I thought Weres are particularly vulnerable to Silver (or better) weapons. Aren't they? =)  Anyway, good to know that there are Silver weapons. But Smithing does not have crafting for them. (weird)
