What coincidence, I was listening to that as I was viewing this thread.Ghost Lightning wrote...

I cannot stop listening to that main theme. Once again I bear witness to the genius of Jeremy Soule.
So far this is my favorite piece of music I've heard in the game. It practically makes me cry just hearing it.

Thanks for the info. I did not think to check the tables for some reason. Figured she'd be standing by the door like she was when I met her. I don't like doing any adventuring without her.Jellyfloater wrote...
I've never played an Elder Scrolls game before, but I'm loving this one so far. I just wish you could be a vampire and a werewolf at the same time. Then I could be a vampire werewolf dragon wizardjreezy wrote...
Either Lydia died or got lost because I
can't find her. She was in the Companions stronghold when I went on a
mission with Farkas and when I came back she was gone from where I left
her.
She should be back in Dragonreach (i.e. the Jarl's castle), sitting at one of the tables.

I'm taking real slowly... exploring every piece of terrain... I'm an alpinist! heh .. When I see a blackened point of interest in my compass, I keep going till I find it... found many amazing places and hardly started the main quest... no dragons yet .. at level 14 ...
I'm a bit worried with the level system, with a level cap. I liked previous TES games when I could raise some skill and they wouldn't give me a level up. Now I gain level from actions I won't spend perk points before finishing my built, like Sneak or Restoration or Lockpicking or Alchemy, while the main ones, smithing, two handed sword, and heavy armor, albeit high atm, they're not high enough for me to spend the perk points since the next perk is way above what I have now. (60 for smithing vs 33 atm, 60 for 2 handed vs 53 atm, 60 for heavy armor vs 35 atm).
I hate that to increase armor skills we have to take a beating. I'm gonna find me a rat and let him hit me until my heavy armor is 100! =)
PS.: What a PITA to reach Southfringe Sanctum. I had to fight the Invisible Wall almost all the way from Fort Neugard but the mark on the compass shows it behind the wall and it is indeed! The conventional road to get there is a lot easier but not nearly half as much fun! =)
Plus I'm now behind the line of Ancient's Ascent so I'm going for my first Dragon next! =))

The writing was really good. My expectations for the writing and character interaction/banter have been exceeded by a lot. I'm very impressed. This is a huge step for Bethesda.
The music is absolutely gorgeous and things in the world have meaning...from the 'Guilds' having a function to teach so the sense or progression us there, and having it payoff to help decrease the 30+ deaths I've had sofar, including several instances of getting completely annihilated by higher level enemies and creatures...to the the way level and specifically chose how to get better.
I'm having a blast. Taking my time, chiselling away and savoring it.

I've traveled on foot. Left my horses behind because of the terrain I usually come across, and the danger to them when attacked.
Due to this, I've realized that if I buy a place of residence anywhere, its definitely going to be located in Solitude.
Such a beautiful place. Just entered the Bard's College and its also amazing.
God I love this game.

Aw come on! Why would a hostile spellsword gang have a pet fox named "Pumpkim"? And not it's the only hostile left and I can't bring myself to kill it! grrrrrr
They do? Is that in that cave they have in the South? I need to check it out. Most of the foxes I've seen ran from me.
By the way has anyone managed to kill a rabbit?

Got a quick question for Skyrim owners. Are the dungeons more varied and unique, as far as layout and appearance goes? My biggest gripe with Oblivion by far was that the dungeons were monotonous and repetitive, particularly the Ayleid Ruins, Oblivion gates, and the various cave-based dungeons.
I didn't think they would actually do this. I still can't believe they did.
Each cave and fort is aweing.
330 individual locations. Jesus. I don't even want to think of the overtime clocked.

The best game I played since Dragon Age Origins (and better than Origins ) . Haven't found many bug so far ..
But the game could be so much better .. Yet it's can always be much better and make use of better hardware.
1: Water .. Water is nice . Even though the WaterFall seem to freeze in place when you look at it from a distance( I wish mod will make it look better) ..
- Swimming need to be improved and so far haven't discovered any underwater quest ..
- it's would be better if water was more 'liquid' without the edge cut . Know what I mean?
- Can't fish? Yes we can catch fish but ... no fishpole?
- I was hoping that Ice shout would freeze water .. It's would be so cool..
- My character don't get wet and I can swim with my torch?
- No 'climb' animation ?
Snow
- Fire should melt the snow and ICE!!!
- No footprint?
- Snow should be dense and slowing you down!
It's only look like some white paint was thrown at the floor .. But the atmosphere , the wind and the feeling of cold temperature was well done. Walking to the Azura shrine was awesome.
-
Texture
- Need improvement . i see what they done here ... The game look outstanding with that kind of 'blurry texture' . But i`M sure well get plenty of them soon.

My understanding is that it will get slower and slower progressively. Haven't heard of anyone reaching the theoretical max level yet (level 70-80).

Naughty how in the world did you end up getting into a bar fight in Markath?!! I'm in that town now and was ther maybe all of a minute before I was knee deep in three quests all at once.<LOL> One envolving one of the Daedric Gods.<G> But I'll have to admit that I did find a pretty cool Bow in one of the shops it does 10 pts of fire damage and causes enemies to catch fire when they are hit.
I was avoiding Riverwood/Whiterun, just exploring at very low level (4 or 5), playing on "master," and I died a bunch of times along the way to Markarth. In the Inn, I talked to everyone and there was a guy who wanted to see bet me 100 gold that he could beat me in a brawl. He ended up beating the crap out of me as I'm running around the bar trying to kite him and hide behind other bar patrons. Then he had a dialog option for me to buy him some ale and after that he was willing to follow me and become my companion, which helped because I was such low level.
I noticed I'm playing the game now about 95% of the time in third person. The melee animations look much better third person IMO.
There was a really funny fight between the talking dog (Barbas), my companion Cosnach, four mammoths, three giants and some necromancers.
Barbas and Cosnach seem to both be immortal; however they were barely doing any damage to the mammoths and giants. The battle was raging for an entire game day. I left, waited a day, went back and they were stillt there.

I'm disappointed. Crossed that bugged pass to reach Ancient's Ascent, avoiding the damn snowy saber cat. It is a Dragon Head mark in my map. And there is no Dragon. Only a power word! heh

I cut someone's head off with a war axe. It was amazing, because it happened right as I zoomed back into to first-person.Andarthiel_Demigod wrote...
Just pulled off two Stealth throat cut finishers in the Ratways or w/e the Sewer part or Riften is by just using sneak and walking instead of running to attack from behind. It was awesome

hmm... try setting your audio to 24 bit, 48000 Hz in you Control Panel, Sound, Properties for the default device you're using, Advanced tab. Don't ask me why but I've seen other games with this same problem and I had to set mine to that or I couldn't play Skyrim. Prolly fixed in a future patch.

I was in a village, and suddenly this dragon apperead. So I got a DA:O feeling, and decided to climb up to the town tower to "do a Riordan". I waited for the dragon to comes closer, and when it came, I jumped from the tower on the dragons back, and the feeling was awesome!
Sadly, there's no way to grab anything so you'll eventually fall from it's back to your death. At least it was worth it =P
So anyone here done the same?
