I also had a little laugh at the amount of arrows that I keep finding. Didn't they say that we were going to find a lot less but find they were just stronger overall?
I found over a 100 in my first hour...

Indeed, I love how the NPCs react to even your mosy subtle actions.Funkcase wrote...
I dropped a axe on the floor in a town and a guardman told me off for it! He said ''Dont leave your dangerous equipment lying around, someone could get hurt. The next time it happens it will be you'' And another guard commented on the fact that I use a two handed weapon. This game is so awsome is pretty much showing off! lol.
Also there seems to be a constant dragon flying over Solitutde. Every time I go there, there's a new dragon.

It's one of the few games that actually surprised me with its reactivity. Guards commented on my choice of wearing Imperial armour, thinking I was an Imperial soldier. They also commented on my use of a steel sword.
It's also possible I was attacked on sight by Imperial soldiers wandering about for wearing Stormcloak armour once.

Yes, I think there may be a couple different ways to do it.
the most common way, the choice is offered to you as part of a quest.

Lol I passed out (in-game) because I was drunk and woke up on the other side of the map. This game has tons of cool random quests in it! Hell, even normal books have given me quests (I think...)!
Catching up with the thread. Understandable thats its moving so fast!!
Anyway this just happened to me and I got no idea how I ended so far away. This should be an interesting quest.

PS: Delete that last. I'm making the storekeepers rich! Had to craft some cheap stuff since the advance they give is the same that the more expensive but requires lot less material. But I can't recover the costs by selling. Anyway, with some 4,000 I went from 33 to 60 in smithing! =)

Yes, you can. It's really awesome turning into an werewolf in the middle of the night when it's a full moon. Though b/c of your bloodthirst you have to kill people/animals/things otherwise you'll become weak. It's still pretty cool. You look really menacing.
You can also be a vampire. Though I don't think this changes your appearance at all...

It does. You look pale and aged if you go up from Stage 1 vampirism. Hopefully, when cured, you go back to normal, unlike Oblivion where the char would keep the very very old face and needed some mod/cheat to retain the original face.

At level 20 I've started using a shield for the first time, I had an iron one that enemies were just punching through but now I've found an Elven one that I think I'll enchant. Enemies in the mountains were owning me and dual weilding against them was leaving me way too vulnerable.
My favourite moment so far was walking onto a snow covered mountaintop at dusk with a beautiful pink sky and seeing what appeared to be a statue of a dragon ontop of a pillar. Then I realised it was an actual dragon and we did battle on that beautiful sunset mountain top. As I finally slayed the beast I looked up and the sky was filled with thousands of stars as if they had come out to watch the epic battle between man and dragon.
I'm loving the weather effects so far too, adds so much atmosphere.

*sighs* I had to resort to cheap fast trick tactics to stop leveling generic skills and concentrate on my blacksmith. From Stores to Smelter to Forges to Stores. But I'm getting rich on the process! I need to be able to forge and improve special/magic stuff soon! =))

How long did that take? I want the perk for repairing magical gear too but I'm still at around level 33 smithing myself.

Even the miscellaneous quests can take over an hour to do in this game. I found one on my way to do another quest. So I did it thinking it wouldn't take too long and ended up fighting giant bugs and their giant bug queen in an ice cavern. It took me well over an hour as they were owning me, my swords were barely hurting them and they were taking down me and my companion in a hit or two. Bows seemed to be the only way to do significant damage. All that just from walking into a random building I found.

Sounds pretty epic, I approve.
Yea, some of those dragons at shrines and bural mounds are very still and hardly make any noise so it's easy to mistake them for statues, happened to me twice.
Well I've decided to solely focus on Sneak with this character and once that's done I'll go with One-Handed and Archery. Currently her sneak is level 51 andI've got the assassin's blade perk meaning that I can one hit stealth kill most common enemies. Haha, I even killed one the big in Volkesygge(sp?) with two sneak attacks of my daggers..

Is rolling a sword & shield warrior good? I was thinking of making my PC similiar to the guy in the trailers and just wondering that I won't have any problem playing the game with those weapons.
So yeah, is it worth spending points on those?

25K? HELL NO. Not yet, at least. Bummer, cause I love Solitude.
Guess I'll have to settle for the house in Whiterun. I really need a place to unload my loot.

Yeah, its good. I use Archery first while sneaking, especially against single targets.
BUT, when I see a bunch of them, an enemy charges me, or I'm detected, I pull out a sword and shield and get things done.
It kicks ass. Go for it.

I thought it was a really great coincidence that the dragon showed up at that moment. It made the
7 000 steps much more exciting than I thought it would be
Loving the game so far, especially the people and places you find in the wilderness. Just recently I ended up helping a nord chase out a necromancer from his family tomb (taking every little bit of treasure and heirlooms I could find). After that I got company by a guy that had gotten some illness from Peritye, giving him an ability to throw up green, toxic mucus at enemies. Too bad he didn't want to stay in Skyrim

And Here's the Other one
It's obviously not that big, for now, and re texturing isn't all that great, but it's something.

Before

After

I'm loving this game so far. The exploring, the scenary. Just traveling from place to place and finding random caves and forts to clear out. I've even been just taking time and crafting, got my smithing up over 40. I've made superior armor for me and my companion. I'm still figuring out alchemy, I've eaten some of everything to figure out what it's for lol.
Some of the fights I've had in snowstorms were just great. The UI isn't the best I've seen, and the game has crashed back to the desktop a few times, with no error whatsoever, it closes. But even with that, this is the most fun I've had with a new game since I played Origins the first time.

Thx for the reply! Now I don't need to have second thoughts about it being a bad class

Like you said, the game is awesome! But my first Dragon ate me and spit the bones!!!!! LOL ... gotta record that for a video! And that's how Dragons are supposed to fight! Reminds me of Reign of Fire!
It was pretty fast IRL. Some 15-30 minutes perhaps. Worst part was to keep traveling for the material. And we don't need repair stuff in Skyrim. Only improve them. I have all my gear at "Flawless" state, Full Orcish set with an Dwarven Gauntlets that give 20% extra 2-handed damage. On my new self crafted Enchanted Elven Greatsword. I was owning the Dragon and he ate me! GRRRRRR (level 19 atm)

That's true? AWESOME! I got tired of constantly reparing my stuff and that cost all lot of caps. Plus you could never upgrade them fully.

I have never played any of the Elder Scrolls games before, though over the years have seen rave reviews of Morrowind, Oblivion, and now Skyrim. Based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews I decided to give Skyrim a try.
I'm only a few hours into the game, but already seriously contemplating an uninstall. The game really has failed to draw me into the story and world. The main premise is a bit bland to me (civil war and dragons, all things I've been through before in RPGs), and the voice acting / quests haven't really done anything to make me care further. Even the intro, which I guess was supposed to be dramatic and exciting, felt rather dull and uninspired as I just finished a similar scene in Witcher 2 in Flotsam which I felt handled that type of situation with more finesse. Without wanting to post any spoilers at all, I just felt that story-heavy games can and have created the same scenes, but with more passion and emotion. The events in Skyrim left me completley indifferent. Even the whole marriage concept did not lead me to care whatsoever about my spouse, unlike the relationships formed in Dragon Age / Witcher.
Playing the game, the animations felt very awkward. I got to the first little village, and someone was escorting me to show me the way out of town, and though she was telling a story she would awkwardly sprint ahead of me and then stop, and then sprint more and then abruptly stop - it just looked rediculous and no one would really behave that way. The NPC voice acting so far is average at best, and the things they say have not been particularly interesting.
Escaping the NPC interaction (which is something I normally enjoy a lot in RPGs, but not in this one so far), I started a quest to fetch an item that was stolen. Fighting through several generic bandits, I found the combat to also be quite dull. For my character, a mage, the fighting consisted of me running towards a bandit, left clicking to cast my spell, then running backwards to regenerate mana, and then casting again. This was pretty much rinse-and-repeat for the rest of the battles.
I'm not saying there is nothing positive about Skyrim - I think on the PC the game had good enough graphics (excluding not being able to create a character that was truely to my liking, unlike Dragon Age and Dragon Age 2), and I really like the snowy mountain environment. Graphics are the one thing I don't think the game gets enough credit for. I like that there seems to be interesting character development in the skill raising aspect. I like that there are many races to choose from with their own lore. Also I suppose it's nice that there is a lot to do; hopefully some of it turns out to be interesting (as putting buckets on people's heads to steal bread doesn't really interest me).
But, in the end, this game really gave me the feeling of playing a single-player MMO, just without anyone else to play with. Sub-par story and acting, "exploration" and fetch quests, gathering and crafting...
Overall to me, I'd give this game a 5/10, as I'm as indifferent about the game as it made me feel about what is going on in it.
