Has anyone figured out how to hot key?  I use the favorites menu but want a larger selection of stuff.

Add things to your favorties.

Go to your favorites list, click the number you want to hotkey to the spell or item or whatever. (I know 1-8 works.)

Example:

Cheers, thanks very much!  The favorites menu is key then.  Of course, I just figured out last night that it scrolls and you can put more than four things in it.

I re-started my character as a spellsword, which is more how I had conceived her anyway.  Putting points early into your major weapon class is the way to go I think.  Those 20% boosts help a lot.  Also, I picked up Lydia and she has saved my ass a few times.

The most b/a I've felt, though, is hoisting a log on my shoulders in a lumber mill.  lol

Amen to that.  Lovin' having Lydia along.  She's not Boone mind you Image IPB, but she's worth having around.  I am absolutely ecstatic that I can load her up with loot (and the requisite attitude in her tone is quite familiar).  At least now I'm dropping less inventory, and having to micromanage my inventory less through each dungeon.

Where are the armor texture mods?  Those are what need to be retextured, not the environment...

I also noticed someone said they got armor up to Flawless.  How do you go past Fine?  I tried to and the game says my skill isn't high enough and I learned the first perk for steel equipment.

My understanding is that it will get slower and slower progressively. Haven't heard of anyone reaching the theoretical max level yet (level 70-80).

I used cheats to get there and it's level 79 or 80 for getting EVERY Skill to 100.  To get to 70 you'd have to get all but maybe 5 to 100.

The College of Winterhold had a storyline that was heads and shoulders above the Guild in Oblivion. The ending caught me a bit off guard though. As in I expected there to be more to it. Still a lot of things that weren't explained and the chief antagonist was just a complete pushover after what I had to deal with before him. I thought they said there was gonna be more to do after becoming Arch Mage?

I also had a little laugh at the amount of arrows that I keep finding. Didn't they say that we were going to find a lot less but find they were just stronger overall?
I found over a 100 in my first hour...

When arrows appear in an enemy's inventory after shooting them, you can't retrieve every single arrow you shot.  But you retrieve some.  Then there's a perk that increases how many you find on an enemy you riddled with them.

But that blasted Draugr Lord (or whatever is the right name) sob with his disarming shout! GRRRR.

Is that what it was?  A Shout?

I guess that makes sense.  When he   disarmed me, it completely knocked me off my game...and blew my mind at the same time.  I thought it was an actual 2-h weapon perk and I immediately   went to the skills menu to see where it was so that *I* could  take it the next time I get enough points.  Couldn't find it

Yes, it's a shout.  the Draugr Lords all use shouts.  They appear to be undead or perhaps mutated nords.

When I unlocked all the shouts using the command that gives everything under the magic menu, a disarming shout was one of them.

His name is "Cosnach" and he's a companion I found in Markarth who decided to join me after he beat me up in a tavern brawl and I bought him some mead.

Really sounds like Varric to me.

You are mistaken, the actor who voiced Varric is not listed in the credits.  You know you can view it in the main menu right?  You can also scroll through the credits to get to the voice actor list instead of having to wait for the credits to get there.

Been playing for a while now, and I have to say that the reviewers seem to be playing a different game. I don't know if its because I've been playing Demon's Souls, but Skyrim's combat system seems to have taken a nosedive from Oblivion. The melee is very clunky. I hope it gets better the more I get used to this slow, tired combat system. As an added note, I didn't really like the character creator because all the faces seem like they are around 60 years old or something--not too big of a deal, though. I wish they didn't simplify that part.

Skyrim has got a more low-fantasy feel so I actually enjoyed the fact that people looked a bit gritty and dirty. To quote Monty Python a bit:

"How can you tell he's the Dovakhin?"
"He hasn't got **** all over him."

Point being that if you lived in the wilderness that is Skyrim, you would build up a bit of gritty look about you.

Its not the dirtyness; I really don't care about that. It's the fact that every character looks like they are in their 60's or older. As for the combat system, yeah, it's pretty terrible. They really should've taken notes from how fluid and awesome Dark, especially Demon's, Souls combat system was.

While I can't argue taste with you, the only characters that look 60 to me are the ones with wrinkles.. Everyone else is 30 tops look wise.

I found some really weird bugs. I get arrows in me that didn't go away, and a courier that refused to equip his clothing and walked around in some shoes and his underwear. The worst bug by far is how the shadows in Breezehome are cast. The fireplace puts horribly low-res blocky shadows on everything because of the grill-thingy under the cooking pot.

I also found a gigantic Dwemer ruin. Centurians are as mighty as dragons!

Loving the game so far. I really hope they patch the Breezehome ugly shadows glitch though, it makes the house look terrible.

I really  wish you could put some of your loot with your horse too. I wish you could take other horses with you too. Case in point, I was riding back to Whiterun from Winterhold and going through those snowy mountains when I hear a dragon above. This one guy on horse far ahead  gets dive bombed by the dragon, killing the guy but his horse ran off. Long story short, I killed the dragon and find the guy's horse just standing there by his old master's corpse. And its a raging blizzard, so I wanted to bring the horse along with me but nope, you just have to leave him.

The only bug I've come across so far is when I'm riding Rainbow Dash (my horse) I gain the magical ability to clip through anything I want. For the sake of realism I've had to retire the old girl for now until it's patched.

Can anyone please confirm whether or not the One-handed perk multiplier stacks with the dagger multiplier?

My Orc character is in a dungeon fighting some Silverhand bandits and one of them just yelled out: "Die Orc Scum!"

Yeah, a lot of that going on.  Another funny thing, going up to White River Watch to take out that bandit boss, you run into Ulfr the Blind inside at the entrance.  Once you speech past him, pick up his (Ulfr's) Book on his table...here, I'm thinking I'm going to pick up a skill, and it's freakin blank!  I laughed my ass off; not to mention, these nimrod bandits having a blind guy "watching" the entrance...LOL.  It's the little things in life I suppose.

Taking a break from Mage Altmer to try out an Orc Warrior. They and the Argonians got the best makeover from Oblivion imo.

I've been running around with Borgakh the Steel Heart as a companion. Now I no longer have to leave all the heavy armour and weapons loot behind.

Just saw this over at NeoGaf, but modifying the .ini like so:

Settings
fShadowDistance=1000.0000
iShadowMapResolutionSecondary=8192
iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=8192

Gets rid of the blocky shadows with no performance hit.

Ok folks I've Finally found the first but in a quest in Markarth. Seems that the guards in the Talos shrine area didn't get the memo that I'd been cleared after escaping prison.<G> Only but I found got another 2 shouts added to my collection and still got about 3 dragon souls in reseve.

Now anyone figure out how to pay off a bounty? I've got a 1000 septim bounty and don't know how or where I got it.

Also picked up a disease somewhere took a cure disease potion as well as hit one of the alters so I hope that took care of the thing.

Bought my first home in whiterun and got it almost fully upgraded. But when I come across one different I'll buy another one but for now this is my main base of operations. I doubt that I'll buy one in Markarth you see what they sleep on in that town?

Beastfolk are in short supply in Skyrim, it sucks I know. The only Argonians I've met are bandit mages, and even those seem a bit rare. It makes sense in the lore though right, Argonians and Khajiits live in the south and southeast, far away from Skyrim.

I found out ytour smithing skill value determines how much you can improve an item. I also found out that the amount of materials required doesn't change. So, if you got 100 skill and want to improve an item that wasn't improved before, seems to still only cost one ingot.

I ran into Ma'iq The Liar.  You cannot kill him. :(

No Argonians.  Perhaps in Riften or Rorikstead.  Those two seem to be the furthest away from the snow.

They just respected the lore.

It would be odd to see many argonian citizens in Skyrim.

I was actually on my way to riften, so I guess we will see. My char is an argonian, so I am just trying to find more of my kind.

Well something annoying just happened. Tried to climb the 7000 steps, got close to the end, then died from a random troll. Guess autosave hates me since I have to start all over now.

I'm fairly certain there's a couple Argonian companions somewhere, or maybe the wiki was wrong.

Play on the 360.l Had no problems. Got it Friday, played all day Saturday and part of today. Would still be playing, but I made the mistake of asking my husband if he wanted to try it. Now I have to share.

It'a a great game, I love that you can use the magic and weapons at the same time or have dual weapons. The characters are so much better than Morrowind and Oblivion. I loved Morrowind, liked Oblivion, but they have come a long way and I'm glad to be a supporter.

Does anyone else have a dog following him around? I rescued him from some wolves and now he's a companion of mine. He's sort of like the Dogmeat of Skyrim, only uglier.

Holy crap! Just fought another dragon!

Me and lydia were walking a long trek from whiterun to riften nothing to exciting. When we finally found riften I stopped by a mill I saw, heartwood mill. Well I listened to the woman who was complaining about her husband going missing leaving her and her kid alone with back breaking work.

My argonian has a soft heart under his scaly skin, so he went outside and started working in the mill setting the lumber and cutting it. When out of nowhere a dragon swoops down, lands in front of the lumber pile and freezes the entire mill along with myself and lydia!

I quickly got out of there and drew my war axe and shield, lydia setting arrows into its hide while I oriented myself. The kid from the mill ran as fast as he could, and a single lone guard joined the fight. It swooped around and landed on top of the womans house and froze lydia (very glad I gave her some of my health potions!) and the guard got knocked out of the fight pretty quickly,

Finally the damn dragon landed in front of the house and lydia charged in with her two handed axe, while I started cutting into its flank, Pretty quickly the dragon turned to me, and while roaring ice into my face I gave it my all hoping it would fall before I did....

Image IPB

It did. I triumphed!

I think bethesda really hit the mark when it comes to pacing with dragons... That was a really good moment there, a story out of the blue. Really got me pumped!

Skyrim is so good. My first character is a level 12 chaotic good Breton 2H destruction mage. I am loving this game so much. I am not rushing at all, and have done a number of reloads. Normally in big RPGs like this, my first character is a total wash because of so many missed quests, or mistakes made, but I intend to keep this character active throughout all of Skyrim's DLC, so I am being meticulous with every choice and quest.

Anyway, the only reason I'm not playing right now is because I needed a give my brain and eyes a break.
