I am level 24 and the head of the companions. For cons, I'm stuck with a conundrum.
I am with Aela, the mission to find the totems. There are four levers, which do not seem to work. And spikes that block the entry do not withdraw. Does anyone know how to solve this issue ?
I tried to lower the levers in all possible orders (I think) but it does not work.

One of my most alarming dragon battles came at level 8 on the way up the 7000 steps. I was talking to a pilgrim when a dragon attacked us. She wasn't a lot of help: "Excuse me. I'm not staying to fight a dragon." After a few arrows his health was going down depressingly slowly. A memory: "Oy, if those guards at Whiterun ken take a dragon so 'an we." Okay, Iversted town guard, your chance is coming. Running down the mountain travel, I look over the edge. "Screeeeeeeeee" Jump down the mountainside, can't take to long a fall. * More dragon sounds, flapping of wings, fire breath". And then I start to feel bad as I'm leading a dragon to a farm community...as it turns out they managed pretty well and I could get stealth back for bonus damage attacks on the dragon. That one was pretty epic. The two since have been much easier including the one that Falkreath (another wood elf archer) and me took down at Riverwood during the night with green and orange lights in the purple sky.

Hey folks anyone know where I can find some argonians? Been playing for a while now but outside of the human races the only beastfolk I have seen was a single khajit caravan.
There are four different Argonians in Rifton. Two in Bee and Barb, one that works at Fishery and another that sells gems and jewelery in the town market during the day.

How many companions can you have? I'm kinda happy with my Orc.
I've read you can have one animal (such as a dog) and one human. I haven't messed around with companions since the ones I've had on missions mess up my attempts to be stealthy. I've done quests where you have two humanoid companions, but I don't think you can get that without plot help.

Speaking of not pretty, so was my first encounter with a draugr lord. He had a shout and was summoning frost atronachs. I bowed to the power of my ancestors and got the heck out of there.

Well I dunno, I think my female Nord looks okay and certainly not 60.SOLID_EVEREST wrote...
Been playing for a while now, and I have to say that the reviewers seem to be playing a different game. I don't know if its because I've been playing Demon's Souls, but Skyrim's combat system seems to have taken a nosedive from Oblivion. The melee is very clunky. I hope it gets better the more I get used to this slow, tired combat system. As an added note, I didn't really like the character creator because all the faces seem like they are around 60 years old or something--not too big of a deal, though. I wish they didn't simplify that part.

Combat has certainly not taken a nosedive from Oblivion.
One thing I am so grateful for is that you don't seem to be able to kill your own companions, at least not as easily. They'll comment if they get some FF, but don't turn hostile and start yelling "murder!"

Some, you must complete their quest before that. ( if you do a quest for someone, to the detriment of one of them, Faendal for example, you couldn't choose them. )
Still others, you simply have to impress them in fighting with bare hands. ( Whiterun. In the inn.The woman in heavy armor

What does a two-handed or dual-wielding fighter do against a mage with frost magic?

Also, how is the voice acting? I still shudder thinking about oblivions 4 people voicing every NPC in the game. heh

I'm not playing as a warrior, but isn't sword & shield the better choice? You won't do as much damage, but there's a perk that lets you block elemental damage with your shield. And a perk that negates arrows.

Mages aren't a problem for my two-handed weapon wielding Nord. Mages are staggered and lose almost all of their health in one hit, the second just mops them up. You can block with your weapon as well, but of course it isn't as effective as blocking with a shield. I rarely need to block. Most enemies go down quickly, though there is the rare pain in the butt. (Dragur Wight, I'm talking to you.)
EDIT: Oh, and I'm playing on Expert

So have anyone tried here to jump on a dragon from a high point?
I was in a village, and suddenly this dragon apperead. So I got a DA:O feeling, and decided to climb up to the town tower to "do a Riordan". I waited for the dragon to comes closer, and when it came, I jumped from the tower on the dragons back, and the feeling was awesome!
Sadly, there's no way to grab anything so you'll eventually fall from it's back to your death. At least it was worth it =P
So anyone here done the same?
Because that worked out so well for Riordan?

So, I was jsut reading some reviews. Some good, soe not so good, from players. One complaint was that on PC the controls are clunky and plainly designed for a console. Are they really that bad?

Voices are MUCH more varied than in oblivion. You will still hear repeat voices but it won't annoy you nearly as much as oblivion, and the quality of the actors have gone up to.

Sprinting power attacks. That's what. Never fails to one-shot pesky, uppity mages and their frost magic.virumor wrote...

Also, blocking with your greatsword is a wonderful thing. I love doing it even when I don't need to.
Off Topic: I'm starting to really enjoy alchemy. The system is deceptively dynamic. I mixed a couple of random ingredients together to try and create a stamina potion. To my surprize, I made an interesting discovery. Those two ingredients mixed to create a potion that increases my 2-h skill by 17 for 60 seconds. woot! And since I had, like, a dozen of those two ingedients, I went ahead and brewed myself a 12-pack.

I also found a gigantic Dwemer ruin. Centurians are as mighty as dragons!
I know!
I think they are worse then dragons because you fight them in an enclosed space. Get close they maul you with mechanical parts. Go to far away they fire range frost spells.
Maybe I just need to figure out better tactics with them, but I found it my hardest fight yet
