I found shards and pommel of Mehrunes' Razor through random exploration. What to do with it, no idea.

I found shards, too. I'm guessing they need more shards, or it can be recreated through forging?

I heard you can get married in this game. What's the deal? I would like to get ma wifey knocked up on multiple occasions and have my brave sons jump a cave troll.

And I still don't know how to use my Berserker rage. I've got it Favorited, but nothing happens when I select it.

It's a power. You need to activate it like a dragon shout.

One complaint was that on PC the controls are clunky and plainly designed for a console. Are they really that bad.

Yes, they are. I thought Oblivion's interface was clunky, but at least it worked. With the current one I'm having a massive amount of trouble selecting inventory items, dialogue options and other such things. Horrible console port.

Shinian2 wrote...

Also, how is the voice acting? I still shudder thinking about oblivions 4 people voicing every NPC in the game.

It won't rock your world, but at least there are more than 10 voice actors now. Many of them are mediocre, and repeat voices are still common, but it's definitely a massive improvement over Oblivion. For now, I find it tolerable.

I managed to get myself infected with Vampirism during a late night trip. I think I'll let myself get turned, if only to see how they changed it around this time. Also got the Azura's Star, and I must say that the quest was disappointingly easy.

I love the details in this game. I am partially wearing Imperial armor. A guard commented on that: "For your sake I hope you didn't take that armor from a dead Imperial scout." ;)

Go to Riften then find the priest there. He will give you some instructions.

Btw the game is competely dumbed down for consoles. Such a shame even Bethesda went this way.

I think they are worse then dragons because you fight them in an enclosed space.   Get close they maul you with mechanical parts. Go to far away they fire range frost spells.

Maybe I just need to figure out better tactics with them,  but I found it my hardest fight yet

I just finished doing 5 reloads trying to kill one.   Finally managed to do it.  But I had to use my companion as a decoy (I love it when Lydia takes one for the team Image IPB).  And that allowed me to get  behind the damn thing without it attacking me.  I ended up using a shout,  the best poison I had on my best weapon, and  about 5 potions of healing.

The controls are clunky, yes.  Mostly in menus- the mouse has very little sensitivity so it's hard to select things.  I tend to use the keyboard wherever possible.  It's not really a factor in combat.

The voice acting is 100% better than Oblivion.

A giant just stepped on me. It hurt. :(

But that's okay, I killed him with my war axe.

How to kill a Dragon, the hard way! My first one, at level 19, Master difficulty, I thought I wouldn't make it.  And they most certainly were inspired by the movie because their moves and grace are the same!

This question might be dumb, but if I'm going to be dual wielding daggers should I level one handed weapons or two handed weapons? I'm confused cause the dual wielding is in two hands but they're one hand weapons. So far I've only been leveling archery and other stuff so both stats are about equal.

What does a two-handed  fighter do against a mage with frost magic?

Sprinting power attacks.     That's what.   Never fails to one-shot  pesky, uppity mages and their frost magic.

Even a Foresworn Briarhead?

Dual weapons is a one-hand weapon path.  I think it can be pretty powerful if you take perks for specific weapons, like there's a 10% crit chance for sword and bleeding perk for war axes, so if you went axe-sword you'd put out a lot of hurt.

"Two handed" are the big weapons that require both hands to wield.  Battle axes, hammers, and greatswords.

@RageGT:  Oh, level 19?  Then I don't feel so badly that I got smeared across the tundra by a dragon at level 9.

Not sure, I don't think I've faced one yet.  But if they're anything like the other foresworn spell casters, then Yes.

Actually, so far the only  fights where I've done the best I could and still got my ass kicked have been:

1) A Dragon fight
2) The f**king Frost troll  in the High Hrothgar mountain  (Still haven't killed him but I managed to avoid him)
3) The draugr lord who does that disarming shout)
4) a Spriggin that I came across early on.
5) a Centrion
6) Giants.  (still haven't killed any of them yet either, but that's my next task, as I'm now confident that I can take one or more of them down)

Other than that, the only other times I've died in battle have been due to my own stupidity.

This game is pretty awesome so far I'm 11 hours in I play for a few hours a day, this is the best one yet! love the graphics, the quests the attention to detail is just amazing. My character joined up with the companions and is trying to get in good with the storm cloaks. I just love checking out all the little details and stuff in this game. At one point I decided to test the flow of the water wanted to see if it was just for show and ended up taking a trip over a waterfall.

Am I the only one that didn't really like Morrowind all that much?

One-Handed should cover you and I recommend reading  the description for perks when you're leveling up. Some perks in One-Handed will not apply to you(ie. some are designed for axes or swords etc.)
And if you're keen on backstabbing and slteath attacks spend some points on Sneak.

Specially against a Foresworn Briarhead. Do it before he summons an Astronach to kick your azz! =)

Ok, this one are for dumb players like me who rushed into the game w/out reading the manual: (reply to my topic in the official forums)

Step-by-step guide to hotkeys in Skyrim:

1. Add whatever you want to hotkey to the favorites menu
2. Open the favorites menu
3. Hover over the thing you want to hotkey
4. Press one of the numbers above qwerty. Works for 1-8

Voila. Hotkeyed.

Protip for spells --- double-tap a hotkey to put that spell in both hands.

Glad I'm not the only one bothered by the controls...so far they've been such a distraction that I've been having a hard time getting into the game. I'd say the voice acting is pretty good for Bethesda...it's not Bioware though.

Gotta add this to my embarassment...when trying to open someone's inventory for the first time I must have held on to the e button too long...picked the guy up and dragged him a ways before I figured out what I did wrong...a quick click would have sufficed.

Hey! I wanted to capture the Dragon's moves for the vid! =) (plus the other attempts when I went toe-to-toe with him didn't end up well, even when I was owning him! He cheats! He bites! heh)
