lol not questioning your real life animal love (I have 2 dogs myself) Its just funny how many people are up in arms about the fact that you can kill pixels in a game. I watched one dude kill everyone in Riverwood just to put his weapon away when he saw a dog.

Lol, just wait until someone puts up a video of killing kids in the game. That'll get some rage going. (Probably already happened.)

Nah, I have no problem killing animals . . . . Deer, elk, foxes, goats, wolves . . .anything walking by me has to run . . .I want the damn leather!!!!!!

I don't mind killing hostile creatures of any kind - even dogs.  I like animal companions, since they add a touch of realism for me . . .having a dog is normal, to me, especially when you consider we're playing a hunting/fighting type of character . . .dogs work with that.

However, I have to LOL at the thought of someone who wants to slaughter everyone in sight . . but balks at killing a dog.

One last thing: a lot of PC users have complained that the interfaces seem a bit clunky and hard to use. This is because the gane defaults to Xbox 360 controller mode even on the PC. Deselect that option and most of your problems with clicking etc. will go away.

For serious?

I'm being attacked by couriers! Can't walk 3 steps without one delivering a message to me! lol

I love how the game rewards exploration. Chests in the middle of nowhere which I went just because I'm OCD with exploring every pixel of the world! Plus a farmer with his cow on his way to an offering and he doesn't need help... lol

@Addai. I had to edit the Prefs.ini file just to get my mouse to work. Default was Xbox controller, and there aren't even any control settings in the main menu. Lazy programming by Bethesda.

Finally got this miserable P.O.S to work. Editing the Prefs.ini in the Steam document wasn't working. But if you go to Documents>My games>Skyrim and edit the Prefs.ini file that way, it works. For people who want to edit control settings, do it the through the latter file. Why tech support at Beth's forums doesn't mention this just blows me away. The community is tech support.

Saweeeeeeeeeeeeeet! Late night on the road east of Harkarth I see a blue light ahead of me. I see its moving. As it gets closer its clearly a ghost or something. I get to see the name pop up as my cursor goes over it just long enough to read Headless Horseman. It completely ignores me and continues on its way but it was awesome.
Also ran into M'iaq the Liar :D

And there are no Argonians to marry as well. So it's not only Cats that have no love... Lizard people haven't it either!

Sure there is.    In fact there's 2.  One male, one female.

Female: Shahvee.  you can find her outside Windhelm
Male:  Scouts-Many-Marshes.  He's inside  Windhelm.

This guy is suggesting that you try performing 10 pushups for every hour you play Skyrim

Sounds like a good idea. I'm going to try it. (But I'm already way behind - by a few hundred pushups)

LOL  10 pushups for every hour I play skyrim?

Jesus,  if I do that I'll have Gorilla arms by next summer!

I've seen M'iaq twice now. He was standing on a cliff looking at a waterfall in one instance, and another he was walking on a nearly deserted road.

I ran into the Headless Horseman a couple of times now. Same with M'aiq the Liar. First time I actually saved him from 2 bandits boss on the road near Helgen! hehe

I love how this game is so reactive. There was a dead guard lying the middle of the street( I didn’t do it) and this little girl came running by and screamed. “Ahhh a dead body!”

Also, my character favors Destruction magic and I have had people comment to me how dangerous it is.

Through all the wonderfulness, I think I may have found a game-breaking bug. At least for me. Without giving away any spoilers, I’ll just say the end of the mission keeps re-looping and I lost a companion because of it. Now, I can’t get any new companions because every time I tell them to follow me, they state that I already have someone. I am going to reload and do it again because I love my character and don’t have to start over. Anyone else had any problems with the “No one escapes Cidhna Mine”?

As soon as I saw him, I started chasing him to see if he would talk to me. Chased him halfway to the other side of the Hold (sprinting and using Whirlwind Sprint shout). He leads you to something.

Not so impressive after doing the escort quest to save the little girl from the Forsworn.
hearing "AHHH a dead body" every 3 seconds kinda annoying.

About 40 hours in and I'm hitting full stride. No fast travelling is so authentic and fun.

I'm Level 16 and casting Apprentice level spells. I have a nice wide array, and I'm loving Conjuration. Summoning weapons to me is legitimate for my role, but I learned you can't shout at conjured weapons to make them faster. I have three good staffs as well from looting (staffs look great...loving how diverse and mystical they are).

I have checked out all of the cities in my brief initial tour and while I like them all, I hope I can buy a house in Falkreath for my main house. Although one of the entrances to Falkreath will forever be partially blocked by the skeletal remains of a dragon. Dragon ambushed the town at night, and it was a glorious battle.

Doing Dark Brotherhood quests right now, and I'm really early in the questline.

Holy crap just fought my first centurion... That thing is killing me in one to two hits and I am wearing full heavy armor!

If it wasn't for lydia and a storm atronoch scroll I had, that thing would have been unbeatable.

I escaped fine and my companion was waiting for me when I entered the city from the ruins. It's prolly a glitch and reloading should fix it for you. My suggestion, don't get involved in the fight, except to kill the one corrupted man that paid to have you arrested. (his loot is too good) Then run to the Jarl to receive some apologies. After you travel somewhere else and come back, the city should be normal again. There is a Miscellaneous Quest which can fail if not done before the arrest though. =)

Everywhere I go people comment on my class too. "The Gods gave you two hands. And you use both to hold your weapon! I can respect that!". I love it! hehe

I was on my horse both times. I chased him a bit and would have been easy to follow but I was busy with other tasks. I'm sure I'll meet him again eventualy. =)

Oh, forgot to ask: Did anyone kill Cicero? I helped him but he's surely annoying. Thankfully he's not some adoring fan type of NPC!

Scrolls seem to have much more importance and weight. I haven't found too many and they are very, very powerful. Great balancing, at least they way I see it.
Anyone find the lightning bug in a bottle with strange writing on the inside of the lid? It has to mean something.

Indeed, they allow a magic inept person like me (who also lacks a magical companion) to even the odds sometimes. Like my encounter with teh centurion. The storm atronoch really helped, and kinda makes me want to dabble in magic. I just don't want to turn into a jack of all trades.

I found a Butterfly in a Bottle. Perhaps it's a collection?

Hey guys when going through the smith perks, which side should I take? Elven or dwarven armor? If I go elven I can unlock scale and plate, on the dwarven orkish armor.

If I am specced toward heavy armor which side should I go?

Conjuration is probably the best school. Plus they look sweet! Though runes are also very handy.

I just got a note from someone. :?

Thanks for the advice. It didn’t work, though.Image IPB If I enter the Shrine of Talos, the guards are still there trying to take me to the mines. I tried just fighting and killing them hoping it would trigger something but it only cost me a fine.
My companion wasn’t at the ruins, he wasn’t at the Shrine or in my house or in the Keep. I even walked everywhere thinking he was perhaps killed, but nothing. I tried leaving the city and coming back. Nothing. I tried waiting 24 hours. Nothing. It still won’t allow me to pick up any other companions either. I guess if I want other companions, I’ll have to just start over.Image IPB

EDIT:
This is going to sound really bizarre, but I thought I would go back through the excavation site to collect some loot I had missed because of inventory restrictions. I had just finished that mission for the court wizard before starting the Mine mission and as soon as I enter the Nchuand-Zel doors, who is standing there? Argis. My companion.Image IPB How the hell did he end up there? Lol Oh, well. Doesn’t matter. I don’t have to start over now. One of the weirdest bugs ever.
