I've been playing around with different playstyles (sword and sorcery, sword and board, 2handed, archery, pure magic, etc) and I can't seem to find a role I prefer. Which one do you guys prefer?

I can see how it's possible to beat the game in 2 hours now.

Haha, I was fighting a bandit in a cave and he yielded, just as my character got off a decapitation.
So it was like: "I yield" - :::CHOP:::
Humorous side note: You can loot the heads of decapitated opponents to get their stuff
You could do that in Oblivion too. Or am I thinking of Dragon Age: Origins?

Is it the one involving the Night Mother's instructions?
Also I noticed something funny, in Riften there's a Khajiit woman stalking me and when I talk to her she hisses at me and tells me to keep away.

I use sneak, archery, one handed sword, and destruction magic. I think this works fine at lower levels (I am just level 18), but once I get higher I am going to specialize in other schools of magic.Mi-Chan wrote...

I am going to switch to dual wielding later on for 15 times attack damage during sneak.

The way I play is this-
Sneak+Archery for times when not detected.
When detected, Archery for long range, Sword and Shield for close range.
Healing spells when in need of health(desperately).
Heavy Armor. Currently rocking full Dragonplate Armor(barring the boots).
Currently trying to make enough money to afford the entire Daedric set(Armor and Weapons).
By the way folks, if you're looking for Daedra Hearts, this guy in The College of Winterhold by the name of Enthir sells them. They're about 800+ gold for each. To find him, go to the Hall of Attainment, find the stairs that go up to the second floor, and he should be around there somewhere. He'll sell you things in his quarters. If he's not there, he's supposedly gonna be hanging around Winterhold itself. He'll tell you to meet him at his quarters anyway. So if you have 90+ skillpoints in Smithing and you want the best armor and weapons in the game, look this guy up. Just be sure to spend loads of gold, because to craft the items you'll need Daedra Hearts, Ebony Ingots, and Leather Strips.

I use sneak and archery, and then I use dual wield enchanted and completely improved weapons for combat, I have both the dual wield upgrades and it's a blast. I also go weapon and shield sometimes for some tougher enemies.
I have my smithing up around 80 and I have these bracers for eminent smithing and they let you upgrade armor to "Legendary" Status, and the increase in stats are great. Also anyone who hasn't, do the barbus quest, it gives you a helmet that gets you 20% off prices at vendors and gets you more for what you're selling. It increases your speech by 10.
Still loving the game. I just wish that with smithing when you improved armor and weapons they looked different or at least reduced the weight. But the increase in stats are nice, so I can't complain too much
But they do need a patch for these crashes to desktop.

Wow. A dragon just attacked me at Winterhold Mage College when the courtyard was full of mages. They ripped that Dragon apart lol, I fired like 3 arrows the fight was so quick.
That's funny because earlier this morning a Frost Dragon attacked The College of Winterhold but there were no mages outside, leaving it one on one between me and the dragon.
I won.

Rage you didn't like the Daedrik armor in Oblivion? I thought armor was so cool looking. Now the Madness ore armor that was ugly.
I detested it! And it smelled Daedra! heh
Madness was crazy indeed. I only did Shivering Island after she was maxxed though so she used her own stuff.
I won't post old pics here but they are still there if you want to check them out, although I miss the one with the best combo, Ebony and Black Glass Armor pieces.

Btw, how do I find Sheogorath? I love that guy.
It's a pretty big spoiler, so I won't post it here, but essentially, talk to everyone you meet in the major cities and pick up all the quests..
PM me if you want to know exactly where to find him.
I'm not going to spoil it either, but let me just say...I am quite pleased with the loot item you get when you complete the quest.

Decapitations weren't possible in Oblivion, only Fallout 3 afaik. Oblivion's combat wasn't very... visceral.

The aurora's are pretty awesome. The scenery is fantastic. I am enjoying it immensely. The huge moons are pretty cool as well. I wish I could screen capture on my xbox!
I saw it on my first time I left the cave. I thought it was scripted or something, but then I reloaded.

The weird thing is that there's actually one and a half of him. The full version seems normal, but the one that's a few feet away is just his torso on up, starting at the ground. I'm able to interact with him/it. It talks!
I thought this would stop, but after several hours of playing, leaving, etc., he's still like that. Bizarre.

I agree with that one. Some things have been taken out that I miss, like attributes (str, cha, luck, etc.), but there's also things I won't miss like acrobatics or the 'speech' cheese wheel minigame. Crafting has been complexifi'd in my opinion though.
While having attributes is nice, their progression in Oblivion was horribly wrong considering how skill level advances are tied to gaining new levels.
Perhaps it was possible to invent some better mechanic and still keep the attributes, but I certainly prefer them gone, rather then implemented like in Oblivion.
Overall I won't miss them.
Yeah, I've always found the character building in TES games a bit weird (I don't think it was any different in Morrowind?). Would have liked to see it changed so that you may spend points on attributes freely or something like that.
