This game sounds like it's going to be unimaginably awesome.

There must be a catch.

the catch is say goodbye to your social life

Luckily I've never had a social life.

Any fresh details leaking out, or is Bethesda keeping it all tight under wraps?

Pft what good is all your....err lunchery's?  When I take my War Mammoth into your city!  Saddly that would be too epic to ever be allowed in a game.

Also wtf is wrong with that dudes eye?

Interesting to note that at least 1/4 of all the characters we've seen so far have been blind in one eye.

(the orc and the Nord guy in the screen above)

WTH is going on Skyrim residents? Is there an underground market for eye transplants? some kind of epidemic?

Dunno about the other pics but the guy above, does have a cut near his eye or so it looks. Maybe its a gang and thats how they mark themselves? If so thats pretty stupid.

The Orc also has a scar on his eye. I guess you want to be sure to wear protective goggles when visiting Skyrim!

....

I'm going out on a limb here...and I most likely am wrong and if I'm right I will face desk myself. But...both have tats in the same or nearly the same color, the orcs run vertical, the nords horizontal, alike gear, and both are blind on the reverse eye meaning both have one good eye on each side...if it ends up being an order of assassins that works in pairs and give up an eye to prove themselves or some such that will be pretty stupid.

Interesting theory.

Maybe the face paint designs mean something.

black for murderer
red for "I'm a blood donor"

one stripe for low level gangster
two stripes for bandit lieutenant

vertical for money lender
horizontal for male prostitute:whistle:

Hahah do I know you? I like how you knew I was concentrating on the food!

I'm guessing the eye thing is a part of the customisation at the beginning of the game.

Lol dunno just assumed it was and went with it, and don't think so unless you lived in NC.

Hmm if so I'm making a totally blind dude. it will be like the Zatoichi films. If you've never seenany of them, get off of here and go now. Fantasic films for the most.

I had a feeling new pics were going to surface around this time. I love the details...never thought of riding a mammoth around as a steed but it would be interesting.

I was looking out across that little plain there and just wanted to go explore. Check stuff out, look for dungeons. I could see myself turning the corner of that mountain....when....

ROAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A dragon who out and about doing whatever it was doing spots me.

I wonder if the messed up eye is a ritual of self mutilation for the Dark Brotherhood...

dude don't you realize Skyrim is going to be ultra realistic?

if you lose one eye, the 3D function cuts off if you have a 3D monitor. If you lose both eyes in a fight, you will be playing with a black screen for the rest of the game until your character dies.

I guess you could save on upgrading your PC, though.

Console lulz. So no worry for me I take it. Besides I can just listen for the enemy....well to bad I can't have a way to feel where I'm going that would help, ah well I tend to run right where I'm going anyways. who needs roads. Pft.

Yeah, roads for the most part suck!!!! Lol. It is fun though when a bandit tries to hijack you...lol...its like "I'm not paying you, punk!!". Bring it on!! Meet Apotheosis!!!

So fun just to crush them instantly.

I'm playing Oblivion with some re-balancing mods installed like OOO/MMM/Frans/FCOM and Duke Patricks, which I think is the basis for the new Skyrim archery system.

Combat is a lot more challenging than vanilla Oblivion. You can one-shot some enemies with your bow, but they can also one-shot you, so you have to approach any archers very, very carefully.

Even the smallest combat encounters, I usually die and have to reload a few times. To make it through even the smallest dungeons takes hours.

I hope vanilla Skyrim will be like this. I imagine at the hardest difficulty setting, it will at least be more challenging than Oblivion.

The best new info IMO is:

9 seperate bounties, one for each hold, wanted criminal in one place; "Who's that" in another.Bounties the player can incur are also no longer valid throughout the land: for instance, if you kill someone in Hold A, the guards in Hold B will not arrest you for it.

Three new factions are also confirmed (alongside the Dark Brotherhood): -

The Thieves Guild-
The College of Winter Hold (for Mages)-
The Companions (for Warriors)

The guild storylines are no longer unaware of other events in the world. The stories told in these faction questlines will be interwoven with one another, and with the main questline.

Bounties sound great but I really hope they have a solution for "psychic A.I. guard behavior".  Vanilla Oblivion is no fun as a thief.  As for guilds I hope that list grows longer.  I especially want vampire clans to return.

Armors need more decorations like pouches, straps and such!

But otherwise, I like how the game looks.

Apotheosis is a very powerful staff though...on a bandit its quick work. On others it might take 5 hits, but that's half your enchantment usage. It's just fun doing overkill on bandits. It's a heavy weapon of sorts but has limited use before enchantment runs out. Using it a lot means either collecting a lot of souls or burning through lots of soul gems.

I would love pouches to be in Skyrim. Anything that makes character customization even better. Character customization in Oblivion, compared to other games, was amazing. And I thought inventory weight management was good and allowed flexibility for focusing on inventory weight. I had entire enchanted sets for my looting raids and dungeon farming...with solid work and effort you can get very wealthy, and that's fair. If you're creative and put tens of hours into looting, you deserve to be rich. It's a form of fun, explorative grinding.

Something I would love, as someone who will lean Battlemage in my playstyle, is MORE UNIQUE ROBE STYLES and STAFF APPEARANCE. Staffs looked kind of the same for everything...some of them were a little different, but I hope to see the staff heads have diverse appearances this time. Sure, have some that look like Oblivion's, I like them, but have some that might just have a glass nob at the end (more like a rod) and some that have gems, artifacts, and various things like that. Maybe more customization in staffs, such as full fledged augmentation instead of just enchantment.

I highly suspect things like this to be in Skyrim, not just because its a desire, but I legitimately believe Bethesda, in reality, is doing that.

On another note, I would love a vampire guild and a vampire faction. Finding a nest of vampires was always semi-disturbing, you end up using mostly ranged spells and staffs, maybe an invisibility potion, just because if you're deep in the wild on a raid you might not have any cure disease spells or potions in your inventory.

The more factions, the better!

Like I said, too, I hope the Arena returns but with a true gladiator like arena and atmosphere. It's fun becoming grand champion. Unlimited fights after becoming grand champion would be great, too. Instead of fighting creatures for money, it'd be sweet to have title defenses, as that would be a legitimate continuation of that "guild". With new combat and close finishing moves, can't you just see running a shortsword deep into the throat of a challenger as a finishing move as the crowd screams and cheers behind the spray of blood?

That'd be true Arena combat

what race is that in the first pic? the skin looks a bit dark for a nord, there meant to be quite pale. how big are giants, because it looks like the mammoths are the size of buildings!

He's a Nord, confirmed by one of the character designers.

He said something like "when we show you the Redguard, trust me, you will know he is a Redguard."

I'm going to be very honest and say that I have really paid very little attention to this Game so far.
I was really let down by Oblivion...for me it seemed very much like a very large Expansion to Morrowind (which I did enjoy).
But I finally looked at a few articles for the past half hour or so & I admit, I like what I'm reading.
I always expected the game to look fantastic, but I'm very glad to hear that there are some changes in the basic Gameplay and the way you level.
I felt that not much changed in the Levelling system between Morrowind and Oblivion, but it sounds like a lot of the things that are changing are the things I didn't like (I think it was an IGN article that specifically mention that there would be no more "jumping in place for no reason" to up your Acrobatics and use it as a cheap way to level up.)
I'm going to hold off on any kind of decision on purchasing the Game until at least post-E3...but I'll admit that I'm now much more interested...which is a good thing :)
