If you are playing on PC without checking the checkbox labeled "FXAA" - you need to check that box.

It seems to result in a visual improvement for things like smoke, fog and dust clouds. I went in a tavern and there was suddenly more ambiance in the room that was not visible before

I've tried it, but it's murder on my performance.  Yes, I turned AA and Aniso off.  Radeon HD 6970m here, 2GB.  What's the deal?

Wow, a house in Solitude is 25K, what lol. My house in Whiterun was only 5k.

Edit:  Nvm,this place is huge lol.  It's a manor, gigantic.

Edit, edit:  three huge floors, it's ridiculous.

How big is it compared to Rosethorn Hall in Skingrad?

I didn't play Oblivion :?

I don't know what it is about the dragons in this game, but they seem to just be stupid lol.

First one attacks me at Winterhold College with all these mages around.

Image IPB

And then one attacks me in Solitude. The picture speaks for itself lol

Image IPB

I've fought maybe 3 or 4 all game dragons when it was just me and my companion.

Sweet! I was considering buying that home but wanted someone else to tell me how big it was in the interior before buying. That's a pretty good deal for the price!

LOL... just won another brawl and after punching the guy on the face a couple dozen times, I get my reward and he says "you've been a good friend to me"!!??

Reminded me of some Brits waiting in the take out queue of the burger house I worked at, long ago... friends who would punch each other on the face while waiting for their order... =)

Would he be that drunken Dark Elf-hating guy? "I'll punch you right back where you came from"

Well Dawnstar is depressing as hell. I get there at night from the north in the ocean so I been swimming a lot lately its snowing everyone's complaining about nightmares.
I just been betrayed by a fellow Argonian and I'm starting to think Argonians are meant to be bad here so I started doing things I normally wouldn't.
Also these poor walruses that are all over the place out here. Lydia attacks them at sight and their like helpless :(.

Yeah, I figured that out when the dragon was breathing heat intead of fire.

Also, my high elf can win fist fights, too, consdiring he's a walking twig.

Also...can I get an AMEN for a magic system fix. It's ****ed up.

I don't think you're entering illegally? You're just in the wrong place at the wrong time and get mistaken for a Stormcloak.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Until I actually do join the Stormcloaks.

Yeah, I don't think there are any immigration laws...

Also...no fast travel is a great way to play. I recommend it.

I've used fast travel once and that was because I was in the middle of nowhere with a full inventory and the closest city is miles away.
I store enough at my house in Whiterun then immediatly go back to where I was or as close as I can.  ONLY time I'll ever fast travel and even then most of the time I just drop something and move on.

Weird... aside from the one outside Solitude all my dragons have attacked me out in the wild.

From what I gather a pure mage build is impossible at higher levels.

Yeah, it kind of pisses me off. I've always played a pure mage and when I can't own like every other playstyle it makes me depressed. It's about my only problem with the game but it's a huge one since I prefer pure mages.

Wait, so are they fixing the magic system, or are you just hoping they fix it?

I really dislike how spell damage doesn't scale with skill level...

Why is that?

I will be trying either a pure mage or pure warrior character next playthrough.

Well since the dragons are random, I think you just got lucky to be in company while fighting them. It is also possible that the dragons were like "Oh just a group of mages. I'm huge, I could easily kill them!" Don't you think Image IPB

I said that wrong...no I don't know if they are BUT THEY BETTER!.

Basically, you spells don't scale so by the time you reach 40- 50 you will be throwing cotton balls and your enemies will only be getting stronger (not to mention the adsurd magicka costs to throw in, which makes you die in two hits). I don't know whyyyy the took away spell creation and didn't make the spells scale....oversight I guess.

I really dislike quests with someone "helping" me or a rescue mission. I had a rescue mission in which the baddies turned hostile to the hostage as soon as I showed up. The hostage was killed, so I had to do that last part again and "distract" them. In the end I was lucky, though. The first try I was infected by a vampire. The second time that one died first. :P

There are some really powerful high level spells. Blizzard is simply amazing, perhaps the best spell effect I've ever seen in a fantasy game before.  Not sure exactly how the skill level factors into the equation, but even if it does not affect damage directly, you are able to reduce the magicka cost and increase the damage through perks.

Incidentally, enemies don't scale like in Oblivion, there is a small range of area levels for each area, and according to Pete Hines, there are no areas that scale beyond level 50. I'm on level 22 now (playing on master) and I've found a couple of lower level dungeons that were a cakewalk and a number of higher level dungeons where I had to run away screaming and postpone that dungeon.
